>Dude, we've made the greatest game of all time. What's our cover going to be like?
>Meh, just throw the title on some brown background
Dude, we've made the greatest game of all time. What's our cover going to be like?
>Dissing the golden simplistic covers.
So you were not even alive when Zelda and AOL were out in all their golden glory.
The gold cover was simply following tradition they were all like that. It didn't need a fancy cover.
>brown
It didn't need some ostentatious cover art. Back in the olden days of the 90s, the mere utterance of the word Zelda invoked magic and adventure like nothing else. Put that sword and shield on it, slap on the title, use a classy golden brown background color, and that's all you need.
The official artwork for OOT is GOAT though.
What's good about this game?
that brown
>lets enshrine our IP on a field of gold to symbolise the respect for the series and the significance of moving to 3d
You fucking idiot.
True the Japanese box art is way cooler
It's gold
Why is it with a bee?
sometimes less is more
Am I the only one who hears a harpsichord every time I see this box art?
I still wonder how they thought shitty boxes were still okay this point. Fucking expensive ass games should have at least had a plastic case.
OOT had a special gold cartridge if you got a 1st edition copy
>huurrr mah gaem haes epec stori aen epec wuerld y no cuuhraezeh boecks aewt
Minimalism has it's advantages. They knew the game would sell itself, and they were right.
>greatest game of all time
OP is a faggot
You weren't missing much in Japan either. The MM one used official renders too but it did look markably cooler.
