That's not random, that's just the way deployment slots work in Gaiden.
If you kill a few enemies and then back out of the map you can re-enter and that random cavalier will now be in the starting area of the other enemy units.

I'm actually very happy that a mediocre game like awakening saved the franchise because now almost every new game will look better in comparison making it a bigger and bigger franchise finally leading to my true dream of a full remake of FE4.

What did you not like about it? The series is quite homogenous. More strategy and less RPG when compared to FFTA.

I prefer glorious huge open fields which enable me to fully employ my superior strategic senses.

I liked it more than Conquest. The game had some good voice acting especially with Berkut. But it doesn't excuse the fact that the gameplay and maps were dogshit but given the fact it's suppose to be a close exact remake of Gaiden you can't blame it too much. The plot was generic but it at least it wasn't as autism educing as Fates

the game just felt kind of unfair. i found it very hard to keep enemy units from all just swarming characters like healers all at once and killing them in a single turn. i understand the "strategy" part of games like this and all, but having to constantly close the game and start a mission again and have characters get swarmed or one-shotted over and over felt more cheap than it felt challenging

In some ways yes, in some ways no.

It's maps are just straight up bad 80% of the time, which is a meaty part of what makes FE interesting, but I generally think the other mechanics added were good ones. Having individual weapons have skills to use was interesting, and they all generally had some utility in combat, although some were vastly superior to others. Magic and Skills draining HP is also something I'd welcome as a staple in the series; it keeps things interesting and has a good risk/reward set-up. I was also quite fond of the other RPG lite shit they added, like villages, quests and dungeons, even if they weren't implemented in the best of ways.

So you should keep your healers out of enemies reach, or protect them by having tankier units block access to your weak units. Pairing units up is also a convenient way to keep frail units alive.

Lunatic Conquest is the best Fire Emblem ever made. Echoes is mid tier, putting it closer to FE9 or FE11's "meh" category.

I don't know where to rank the other difficulty modes of Conquest though because I'm not a filthy fucking casual.

FE3>FE1 so for the most part, yes, it's better. That being said, some people hate how the MU was implemented and will tell you to play 3. Personally, if you aren't too bothered about the story then play New Mystery instead of the original, since it's going to challenge you more thanks to the various difficulty levels than FE3.

That being said stat-level ups are generally the same in both SD and NM, so if that's your issue you're out of luck.

Thay is quite possibly the worst combat sequence I have ever seen

growths are on the whole lower with the exception of Sedgar and Wolf due to most the characters basically having their fe1 growths +10%. It does take a bit of getting used to but pretty much every game after 5/6 has had a gradual increase in character growths so the difference probably wouldn't seem as drastic if you had played some of the earlier games first

What's wrong with radiant Dawn? It's quite challenging in the beginning although it drops off towards the end.

Radiant Dawn had pretty alright combat animations.
PoR was trying to be FE4 in 3D visually, and FE4 animations honestly kinda suck.

Each mounted unit can move after they attack or perform any action completely eliminating the need to use any non mounted unit. I played the hardest mode and even still ike with aether can solo the whole fucking game.

It's Conquest, Thracia, New Mystery and Binding Blade. RD isn't that challenging outside of part 1 with all the OP units the games you and enemy units have very low stats. HM is also dumb with its removal of enemy ranges.

FE6 takes place roughly 20 years after FE7.

No FE6 goes first. Turn off animations when you get tried of them which is around the half way point.

I didn't buy it, and I'm a FE fan, so no. FE Heroes works as a fun little novelty. Take those same features and put them into a proper game and it just falls apart. I want strategic depth and complexity in my FE games, not waifu and flashy specials.
