Any third worlders here, how did you get into gaming? I remember getting an used NES and some few games like Mario Bros and Duck Hunt

I got into gaming for reals when my uncle gave me a Psone with Madevil, Fighting Force, The Rugrats game and Toy Story 2. They were all pirated though. I used that console for a good while and played a shitload of games on it even though I didn't even knew English back then.

My brother had a TK2000 and we installed the games through cassette tapes. Then we bought an Atari 2600 but the games were too bad to get attention for more than 15 minutes. Only when we buy a pirated version of an NES (called Phantom System) do we begin to take games seriously as entertainment.

My first gaming experience happened when i was seven, my uncles on my mother's side had an snes with Street Fighter 2 and i was always fascinated by watching them play. This was back in 1999 when i was 5. Then my dad, whom was already divorced, married some rich older woman whose mother wad the director of some shelter for kids with special needs(kind of like an orphanage too). He got a job there as a driver and one day he shows up at my house (i lived with my mother) in the shelter's Kombi with a Sega Genesis model 2 and about 10 games, all in their original cases, it even came with the official Sega arcade stick. He said he was given the console because the director, his mother in law, said it was too violent for the kids in the shelter, so he gave it to me.

It came with Sonic 1 and 2, Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Barbie Super Model, Star Trek Deep Space 9,Desert Strike, Alien Storm and Revenge of the Shinobi. I was so happy senpai

My parents got my brother and me into videogames.

We were 6 and 5 (my brother is younger) and we saw them play with a Famicom bootleg. They loved to play Contra and Mario together.

With time, we started playing too, mostly to copy them, then for both of us to get along with each other, then just because we liked it. We used to have a great computer for PC gaming and some consoles.

With time, due growing older and needing to go to university or work, we quit playing together and my brother quit playing all together. Our parents turned towards mobile games since they don't get along with new systems except their mobiles.

I no longer have a good computer to play games (I have my work's laptop, thus I cannot even install solitaire without getting a reprimand) but I have our older consoles and from time to time I play oldies for the sake of relaxing and remembering good times.

An older boy invited me to play on his nes, it was a wrestling game but with superpowers, think its Muscle Wrestling but not sure. My bunny died the next day because I left it out in the care of my "friends" while I was playing, got probably hit by a football, I cried all night(was like 5).

Got my SNES at age 6, and an upgrade every couple of years; ps1-ps2-xbox-xbox 360-ps3-wii u 2 years ago. Looking forward to the switch but happy being master race for now, playing Vermintide and waiting for the Norsca patch for TWW.

My parents bought me a PS1 with a Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone black disk. Then my dad bought me a magazine with a demo disk on it with different games, and I was hooked to the demo of Wipeout. I ended up getting Gran Turismo 1 and then 2, and I was literally burning my eyes on it.
