CT is the better stealth game but 3 has better story and characters
Both are shit
CT. I like a little something called GAMEPLAY.
This.
MGS3 was legit, but not really stealthy. In fact, most MGS games are not really stealth based.
I always liked Splinter Cell for lurking in the shadows
Thanks OP
I'm going to download Splinter Cell now
bob and steve
>3 has better story and characters
Chaos Theory's story is a fucking masterpiece. MGS3's is trash.
3 was a self aware spy thriller
>it was supposed to be shit
>MGS3 has all these fun little quirks that are meant to impact how the game plays, like blowing up munitions/food storages to fuck with the guards or being able to poison them with mushrooms or animals
>the most efficient method in every situation is to just lie prone and tranq them
Damn shame
Pro-tip, if you ever use the phrases self-aware, deconstruction, or meta, in a way that implies quality, you're a retard.
>explain
>one lets me throw alive snakes at guards while wearing a crock hat dressed as a mummy
>other one lets me hide in the shadows for half a hour until i do a small sprint towards the the next shadow
hard choise
All of those describe themes of the story, not whether it's good or bad.
>le cuhrayzee
fuck off gaminggit
Now just replace hiding in the shadows to lying prone in long grass until you sprint to the next patch of long grass and you have MGS3
>I WANT EVERYTHING SUPER SERIOUS ALL THE TIME
you are the reason season 7 of gaming sucked
the diference is that you CAN finish mgs3 whitout hiding in the grass ONCE.
I just learned that I cannot download Pandora Tomorrow off of Steam because of some lighting bug with newer computers. I never even got to play Splinter Cell 2.
Fuck my life.
And you can also finish it once without getting the croc cap or doing shit like throwing snakes at guards which loses its novelty after you do it once and just tranq everything from 3 miles away
> loses its novelty a
no it doesnt, there are so many wayts to play that game that makes the replay value almost infinite
You can do a CQC only run
A non CQC lethal only run
a non tranq run
a Snake only run
A SAA only run
A run where every run you got knock every guard down, make a pentagran with the bodies and throw snakes at then while taking pictures
What do you do in SC?
why there are no videos of people playing it to these day if its so go?
Chaos Theory is one of the greatest games ever made. The original SC games are some of the only stealth games that are actually stealth games, and CT perfected the formula. Level design was far better than anything in MGS. Had a good story and fantastic characters with personality who were still grounded in reality.
In contrast, MGS3 is fanfiction tier writing and takes an "everything in the kitchen sink" approach to game design and misses the mark wildly. People like it because of the series' pedigree or because they played it as a kid when they enjoyed the whacky characters' antics and the zany Kojima plot.
Chaos theory is extremely solid, great stealth gameplay and the coop is probably some of the most fun ive ever had in video games in my life.
MGS3 has ab entertaining plot, great music, and the gameplay is really fucking extensive and filled with secret mechanics and interactions that give the game so much fucking replayability it's insane how much time you can spend looking for all this shit.
tl;dr they're both fucking amazing games and you'd have to be mentally challenged or underage to not see why
Ps2 ?
I would pick chaos theory as the better stealth game.
MGS3. hands down.
>Chaos Theory's story is a fucking masterpiece
yes, if it was a steven seagal movie
>Splinter Cell
>ps2
Oh shit nigger, what are doing?
>comparing anime games to real stealth
Stop.
nu-Sup Forums hates MGS because they're underage kiddies who grew up with 4.
patrician taste
Whenever someone says MGS has a good story I completely disregard their opinion because they have the mentality of a teenager.
I don't think MGS games have ever been full on 'stealth' games. The tagline is Tactical Espionage ACTION.
CT.
Metal Gear is no more of a stealth game than Goldeneye.
