True, but it is kind of fishy that Itoi contributed to the name change from Kirby Active to Kirby Super Star yet is entirely missing from the game's credits (even from special thanks), and the fact that Kirby's Dream Course happened to reuse sound effects from EarthBound... If nothing else, he'd be in the coveted inner circle of developers who'd know a thing or two about Shimomura, and maybe he'd be willing to finally shed some light on this person's absence after 2002.
What was his problem?
Hail to the King.
So how has your life been impacted by learning of the Japanese's take on Dark Matter?
based.
also based and also sexy
>water form makes those columns of spikes
muh
dik
She will return and japan will make loads of art of her and maybe some doujins!
He died for our sins
I can't wait for him

>Dark Matter Trilogy is a lie
It was real in my mind...
Though seriously, if there's a Japanese source saying that the dark hivemind-y substance we all thought was Dark Matter is ACTUALLY Dark Matter, Kirbyellow wouldn't be struggling to find it since he actually lists his sources properly.
What the hell, I ordered a dozen eggs for Easter, not one big one!
Take him out of the bag and give him the Crown, GIVE HIM THE CROWN NOW
What kind of doujins?
god damn he looks fucking great
DLC WHEN
Alright I did the glitch that lets me play as Kirby in Guest Star, can you complete it just fine or is it gonna crash the game when I do something
It works just fine
Maybe the long, green-eyed Nova can grant him his wish for the crown.
lewd doujins
Body painting /u/ with Vividria
I don't know, I can't really wrap my head around it. Granted I've never played DL3
so?
So let me see if I have the official story straight.
Dark Matter: Is a character that appeared in KDL2 & KDL3. His first form is also known as Dark Matter Blade, and his second form is also known as Real Dark Matter, similar to how Nightmare's two forms have different names.
"dark cloudy object": Generic hivemind-like substance controlled by the related bosses Zero, Miracle Matter, and 02. Possesses people en masse similar to how Dark Matter possessed King Dedede in KDL2. Erroneously called "Dark Matter" in Kirby 64's localization, but KDL3 had it right.
Mini Dark Matter [name as sourced in Japanese Wikia articles]: "Fake", miniature Dark Matter lookalikes that are spawned by Zero in KDL3 and the dark cloud that covers Ripple Star in K64.
Do I have this right?
That seems to be the gist of it.
sounds like petty semantics to me
The only real change this would make is that "Dark Matter" is exclusively the name of the DL2 villain and not the name of the species. He and that species are still similar, most likely situation is that Dark Matter (character) is a special individual like Gooey and all of the connections work the same way.
Only one question remains before I can fully accept it...
What about that infamous blurb in the 20th anniversary art book? Anyone willing to give a second opinion in light over this?
Not canon. These Nintendo lore books are famously riddled with misinformation and the author makes shit up to fill in the gaps. For example, this very book claims that Ado and Adeleine are separate people
Would be easier to give an opinion if this was translated in full.
Where?
Given it's simply a substance and not specifically called Dark Matter, what does that mean for Hyness' speech and everything regarding Void Termina?
Wasn't this the one that implied that they were the same person, but just didn't say it.
Well he had that user flipping tit over "not muh dark matter" regarding Void, but if Dark Matter is just the name of DL2's villain, and the only relation about them is the dark stuff they're made off, Void can easily fit in. Would be interesting to compare the words they used for darkness and see if they match the Zero gang's
I've got the book and its produced by HAL, I could post the credits if you want and see if any important people are there
IIRC the Ado Adeleine bit specifically left it up to interpretation or unclear, just a safe generic
>oh they looked similar hmm
Is Adeleine (Ado design) a reverse trap?
But that's a Groucho Marx doll.
It doesn't. It claims that Ado might be Adeleine's nickname, but doesn't confirm it like the later one does for whatever reason.
For the sake of argument, let's say the book is 100% factual. How do we reconcile the Dark Matter section with this new information?
Don't believe his lies
Time for sloppy make-out sessions with Marx, right? I'm bringing King DeDeDe.
Pretty easily. Nebula is described as a cloud of smoke as it escapes the chest. The only true issue is whether or not Zero Two is literally Zero or a separate entity.
Fanart/gijinka designs I've seen on pixiv tend to go one way or the other.
Was genuinely hoping that this was who Hyness was trying to summon. I blame Robobot for making me expect more Kirby final bosses to be callbacks.
Not that Void Termina wasnt a really fun and hype fight and it being implied to be the creator of Dark Matter is really interesting theory bait. But the Access Ark being a Clockwork Star kind of pumped me up to hoping other villains would get a shot reappearing rather than just more Dark Matter.
Do we know what Hyness says in Japanese?
>wanting Hyness to spend all that effort to summon a .png
yes
Good. Dark Matter needs to be made an actual character.
Despite there technically being no explicit evidence, it's incredibly baffling how much dispute there's been in these threads lately about whether something called Zero TWO is related to Zero. Like, what?
Neither Return to Dream Land or Triple Deluxe's final bosses were callbacks, so it's your own fault.
I think its safe to assume Zero-Two is a reincarnated Zero.
>angel wings and halo implying death
>bandage on head showing wounds from the last battle
>both forms have a bleeding eye motif
The only thing that doesn't have an explanation is his cactus dick.
>Triple Deluxe
Well kinda...
damn it bros, I can't wait any longer...
Star Dream originally was a robot Zero Two until they decided against it.
There's even artwork that implies Void's interior/core was recycled from that concept.
But Nightmare sucks lol. He is one of the least threatening final bosses. Even Battle Royale Dedede is more threatening than him.
Kek
One more week user.
Hang in there.
That's only half true in Triple Deluxe's case. Revenge of DeDeDe armor D3 was the penultimate boss in the main story. And Dededetour brought back dimensional mirror and Shadow Metaknight.
Not really. Sectonia got that way looking into the dimension Mirror but she is not the mirror itself, nor is she possessed by anything from the mirror world, and you don't find out that the dimension mirror has any involvement until the end of Dededetour, an extra mode.
Technically speaking, Star Dream is just as original a villain as Sectonia and Magalor
>Magalor possessed by Dark Matter artifact
>Sectonia corrupted by the Dimensional Mirror
>Haltmann repurposed Clockwork Star
Well, the "masters of a matter most dark" was debunked in the Japanese text by the leakanon. It's just Treehouse giving lorewhores a wink and a nudge, referring to something they (probably now unknowingly) made up in 2000.
>blaming Robobot for your absurd leap
Dang this is news to me. Pretty cool anons.
He says "yami no busshitsu", which translates to "dark material/matter"
>the screw part was meant to reference the cactus cock
holy shit
Marx and Dee for smash!
>Soundtrack calls Heart of Nova remix "Soul 0 System"
huh that explains a bit
> When he returns, hopefully it will be as...a friend.
Void Soul for Dream Friend and or sequel bait.
The Master Crown is tenuously connected to Dark Matter at best, and the most significant evidence toward it is in a game that came out almost a decade later. Sectonia being influenced by the mirror isn't quite the same thing as Star Dream being the exact same thing as Nova.
>hexagon platforms
Well Star Dream was the Hal 9000 computer. Access Ark was the white clockwork star
>Dedede is in every game
>Dark Matter has an entire trilogy and returns in Robobot
>Zero returns a game later
>There's another Nova
>Marx returns
>Even Magolor and Sectonia return multiple times
>FUCKIN DRAWCIA FROM THAT ONE SPINOFF gets a fucktonne of references and lore and siblings
>Nightmare left in the dust
it hurts
Star Dream was its core container. Where do you think the heart came from?
Star Dream was the star's AI, though. It even speaks like Nova in the Japanese version.
Beat Star Allies story today, and just missing the hardest difficulty in Ultimate Choice.
Is it just me or is this game A LOT shorter than Robobot and Triple Deluxe?
I should find better hobbies
Off to Milky Way Wishes we go
Was this ever debunked? Happened a few threads ago.
"a lot" might be an overstatement because none of these games are very long, but it certainly is shorter.
just you
it's about as long as both, maybe a little longer
It's pretty much agreed upon in the fandom that Ado and Adeleine are indeed the same person
Well, Nightmare was the first non-Dedede villain to get into Smash.
Also he was one of the characters most improved by the anime.
>That one time he sent a meteor in Pop Star's direction for no reason than to be a dick.
Gameswise... his appearance and theme in Stratos Eos kicked ass?
youtu.be
Hey after a surprise like that it's kind of hard to pinpoint where these games will go when they hit final boss territory.
This series always thrived on fanservice even back in the Squeak Squad days with Metaknight fishing Halberd out of Onion Ocean as a nod to Revenge of Metaknight.
He's debatably the most iconic Kirby villain next to Dark Matter. If anything more people might know about Nightmare due to the anime or Nightmare in Dreamland
also fuck you
When it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
>Where do you think the heart came from?
Hell man, the heart has become an incredibly common recurring symbol among kirby villains, it's easy to overlook it.
Maybe it's just the pacing, but I feel like it was over in an instant.
According to some of the anons, the guy has a history of LARPing.
So, yes.
Speaking of cactus dick, other people DID notice the spiked tail of Bird-Termina, right? That’s supposed to be the cactus, right?
It was obviously intended to be Star Dream's core.
Plus the whole thing was a homage to Nova's fight in Super Star.
It really doesn't, though. Recycled levels and bosses, plus multiple dream friends that are just reskinned helpers? This is too lame to be false.
It's shorter main story wise but its post game is huge so it evens out or if anything makes Star Allies longer depending on whether or not the player is a completionist.
If I'm remembering right, you could search this dude's trip in the archive and see the other times he used it to spew some fake leak bullshit.
The pacing is absolutely the culprit. The game keeps escalating in scale and scope but every time it does it feels like the game is starting over rather than necessarily expanding. By the time you get to outer space it feels like the game has just begun, but you're at the last world. It doesn't have a feeling of ramping up toward a conclusion, the conclusion just suddenly happens.
looks similar enough to a cactus
Also Adeleine's design is ripped from Ado's in the Hoshi no Kirby 3 manga, so the appearance argument holds no water.
That isn't fandom. Anniversary book confirmed it.
What if she comes from a planet of Adeleine look-alikes?
I don't want to get a Switch just for Marx damn it
put him in Smash so I can have two reasons
Which is it?
>somewhere there is a planet of Adeleines
we must find it
then I want to visit that planet
Can we assume Star Dream pulled itself back together the same way Nova did?
