FFVII: Playing through this currently, really like the materia system and the world. Just got on disc 2, story hasn't quite gripped me yet.
FFVI: Story has been done before, loved the massive cast though. Would really like to see a remake
FFIV and the sequel: Decent story, good characters
FFV: decent story and characters, job class was interesting
FFXV: disappointing
FFIII: job class was fun, but the plot was boring
FFI: bare bones RPG
FFII: hated the leveling system

Fully aware, as it sits now, that's where VII is on my list. But, I do agree with your opinion. However FFXV isn't going anywhere unless they do some magical DLC or those Versus rumors prove to be true.
I actually have almost all the FF, I went on an autistic spurge back in college and bought any I could find. The downside is I intend to play all the expansion with each one. So before I can move on from FFVII, I'd need to play crisis core, watch advent children, and play dirge of cerberus.

Using the debug menu I was able to have aranea and iris join my party at any time, but I couldnt pick both of them :<
I was also able to get rid of Ignis, prompto and gladiolus so that it was just Noct and Iris or Noct and Aranea, it made the game alot harder but it was worth it imo.

The only thing this and XIII share in common with all the FF that came before it´s the name. For all intents and purposes XIII onwards as well as the sameless exploit of VII are a different thing than the previous games.
With that in mind this would not even rank, which is not necessarily a bad thing since, if you want to, you could analize the game for what it is without holding it against a legacy.

I just fought(?) Titan and I'm struggling to find reason to continue with this game.
I think of old turn based final fantasy where a boss fight was this big thing where you had to use different abilities to win and manage your health and it was like a puzzle.
This, first big boss in the game, was like a cinematic spectacle where I pushed button prompts on command and otherwise just ran down whatever visible path lay before me.
It was a huge let down and I think the rest of the game will be similar.
