While the gun can have unlimited ammo it still requires MP to replenish it. To replenish MP you have to use melee attacks.

First one had god awful combat desu. The story wasn't that interesting either to me. The visuals and music were good though. 2nd one so far has good visuals and music as well. The story looks a bit more promising but I'm not putting much hope into it. Combat is much better, though it's really easy.

No the first one was good, it wasn't very popular though.
