Control. Always.
Synthesis is retarded space magic far beyond the scope of the setting, and Destroy annoys me because high preparation means that Shepard survive the explosion, which makes no sense.
I know it's shit, I just ask for opinions.
Theres only one ending that should be canon and its the destroy one. The whole thing has been building up for 3 games already, Shepard knows what he needs to do so theres no way, and I mean no way, that he would entertain any other options that do NOT result in the destruction of the Reapers, right at the last fucking minute.
Destruction with survivors and Shepard breathing, best possible outcome.
I picked blue because it's my favorite color :)
This 100%.
Your mission is to destroy them, and you're going to throw all that away on the advice of an AI who we already know is dysfunctional and universally hated? You're just going to trust that little shit all of a sudden instead of David fucking Anderson? Fuck you. Anything other than destroy is incorrect.
I choose green for EDI
Red is the only acceptable choice. Anything else means you're either indoctrinated or retarded or some combination of both.
Destroy killing off the geth and EDI was some top-tier bullshit that they only did because they knew everyone sensible would pick it.
MEHEM with CEM
no uninstall it before EA steals your personal informations
Yeah, they had to give it some kind of "downside".
Fuck the robots though.
All 3 were over ambitious.
They should have focused on the characters and the world they built up until this point. Then left what ever happens to the Reapers open for interpretation or potential sequels.
Destroy. I don't even care that it took EDI and the Geth with it.
Contral. Gotta become a space god.
>Shepard knows what he needs to do
Ahah what a cuck
>be shepard
>fight against impossible odds in all 3 games
>dude just pick an option
>not just rejecting them and telling the star child to fuck off
Reject is the best option.
>"but muh shepard and crew dies!"
So what, you fuckers are betraying everything you fought for in the 3 games by picking a choice.
"I fight for freedom, mine and everyones." That speech alone proves reject is the only possible canon ending and correct ending.
It's not you. It's an AI that mimics you.
the endings were so vastly different it was really hard to choose.
destroy is the only acceptable choice because it's the only one space kid doesn't want you to take.
>dead series
>dead series
>dead series
who cares
>But...But no dude!!! Shepard can take and has all the time of the world to think about the other choices!!! I know he spent all the three games with one objective in mind, to destroy the reapers but it doesnt matter!!!! Thanks Bioware for 3 meaningful and fulfilling endings!!!!
The absolute state of retards.
EA could steal money under their own eyes and they would just accept it, heck they would even thank EA.
Nah broh. My shepard is controlling an army of immortal robot god right now.
Shepard in 3 was a hollywopd cuck, mine would have joined Cerberus and cleansed the unworthy aliens race.
this will never not make me mad
I am still mad.
I will always be mad
I will witness all things and be mad
Half Life 3 will be released and I will be mad
When World of Warcraft finally shuts their servers they will ask me and I will reply "I am mad"
Eventually all of gaming will be replaced by virtual realities as we get closer to the singularity. And when they search through the history of our species. They will see me mad.
>Admiral Gerrel wants to destroy the Geth
>Admiral Xen wants to control the Geth
>Admiral Koris wants to live in harmony with the Geth
What did they mean by this?
Don't say it
I think I went control
Destroy is objectively the best outcome. Synthesis and Control are just buzzwords for indoctrination. The kid tries to warn Shepard away from Destroy by "claiming" that it'll destroy EDI and the Geth too, but seeing as Shepard is an artificial lifeform rebuilt by Cerberus and this is the only ending that he survives in... the kid was obviously lying. Destroy wipes out the Reapers and gives everyone else their chance.
It's crazy how similar ALL the cutscenes in EVERY Mass Effect game were, regardless of decisions you'd made, huh?
How are there still people that buy into the indoctrination theory?
You're taking the word of a race of mindcontrolling aliens who have frequently attempted to lie to you and subvert you throughout the series that they're going to kill you and let you take control of them.
How fucking retarded would anyone be to do that? And how is synthesis any different from being a husk? You don't get a choice, the Reaper taint is FORCED on you, and from the ending slides, mind controls people into being docile and friendly.
This, anything but destroy means the Reapers win.
So what about the ending mods for ME3 and that mod that changes war assets and everything?
Destroy, of course. Tech can be rebuilt including the flt relays. Edi dies? Too bad, but it's another casualty in the war. The Geth? Same.
All others is basically doing the Reapers wishes. Either control which basically turns Shepard into Harbinger 2.0, or better creates a reaper overlords based on Shepard personality, either the synthesis which rapes the whole galaxy via NANOMACHINES SON down to molecular level, doing exactly what the Reaper VI (because a true AI wouldn't be that dumb and acted like a broken record like the Catalyst) wanted.
You also talk with a literal indoctrination-detection machine not long before the game ends, when previous games have shown that indoctrination of strong-willed people can take weeks of constant reaper contact. There's simply no time for Shepard to get indocrinated in the time between Thessia and Earth.
The extended ending DLC also made it obvious that the endings are meant to be taken at face value, even if they're complete shit.
I didn't say he was indoctrinated at the time of the choice, I said that the other two choices - control and synthesis are you accepting indoctrination. With control, you die. You just accept that whatever AI approximation of you that they create is correct or even meets your desires. You're taking it all on faith and in the end, the Reapers still rule all.
Indoctrination has always shown to be a process, not a switch to turn you from not-indoctrinated to indoctrinated in a second.
It is when you agree to be vaporized and turned into a line of code.
You're already a line of code, indoctrination is just being a different one.
fuckin triggered
Different user here. I don't think Bioware was anywhere near smart enough to come up with the Indoctrination twist. I think it just happened to make a great alternative ending because they fucked up so hard it made sense despite themselves.
But to counter your point, Shephard has been in contact with reapers for fucking years. He is almost constantly near them and even if he gets away for a while, it's not like the process reverses itself. It's like being near radiation. Sure the first contact might not do much but keep getting in contact without protection and you bet you're going to get fucked.
Also, in 2 DLC, you are literally forced to be near a literal indoctrination machine knocked out cold for 2 days straight with the only purpose of that machine being to indoctrinate you versus simply being near reper stuff which kind of sort of gets to you over time.
>hurr durr picking synthesis is just what the starchild wants
Why didn't he fucking do it himself then?
originally reapers were machines made by thorians who rebelled
That makes no sense
>one in the dark
>one in the light
Destroy is the only option that completely and totally breaks the Reaper cycle and allows the galaxy to decide its own destiny
both were tentacle monsters that had ability to indoctrinate lesser species.
reapers turned people into husks while thorian created creepers.
The Reapers obviously learned how to make husks when they assimilated the race that bio-engineered the Thorian.
how would that make sense? creepers are brainless biological clones while husks are robot zombies.
>watch scene with anderson n shit
>anderson dies
>alt+f4 and pretend shepard dies right then also
is there a better way to play than this?
>Synthesis is retarded space magic far beyond the scope of the setting,
Bionics
Destroy. It was impossible for me to even begin entertaining other options at that point.
A modded version with the full uncut Anderson scene
>extended cut happens where the endings get updated
>shoot the starchild jokingly
>a whole new cutscene prompts
>get interested that they might've taken the easy way out with the indoctrination theory and rejecting the starchild is how you break Shepard free of it
>actually everyone dies and you get a bad ending
>you're forced into the three buttons and the only secret ending is terrible
don't know what I expected
destroy period. No other choice is even remotely acceptable.
Shutting the game off half way through.
I would have picked Destroy but I don't like the idea of Geths being wiped out.
Nothing more painful than discovering a "secret ending" only to find out it's an uninspired bad end. If you're going to make it an option, might as well do something fun with it.
a modden version where Shepard fucks Anderson
To be fair, expecting anything different is fucking retarded.
>spend the course of 3 games figuring out how to kill reapers.
>ME3 entire game is building a super weapon to kill reapers because cant fight them conventionally
>successfully make super weapon
>Decided to not use it and fight them conventionally because you see a kid
Like what the fuck do you think would happen?
Destroy is the only logical option from an RP point of view.
Sure you the player know that all 3 are valid options, but think of it from Shepard's point of view.
Every single person, literally every single person, that tried to in any way control or even cooperate with the Reapers got indoctrinated for his troubles, they're millennia old superintelligences that have effectively perfected the art of manipulating organics, there is absolutely no way that someone without a god complex so large it leaps straight into clinical insanity would even consider themselves capable of controlling the reapers no matter what some hologram tells you.
And synthesis sounds like nothing more than a last minute desperate attempt to give him a third option, where none exist. There's no evidence up to this point it's even possible, heck even in the most positive Geth-Quarian conflict ending you simply get them to cooperate. And now suddenly out of nowhere is there an option to fully integrate biological and mechanical intelligence, and apply that to the entire galaxy? That sounds like wizardry even by the settings standards.
Now that leaves destroy. At this point Shepard has witnessed personally the capacity of an overloaded mass relay to destroy reapers (and solar systems as collateral). He's also acutely aware that the citadel's main purpose is to act as a hub-station for the galaxy's mass relays so using a weapon to overload the citadel and detonating the mass relays as a galaxy-wide weapon is, given ingame available info, a plausible, if far-fetched option.
As a result, destroy is the only thing that makes sense if approaching it from Shepards perspective rather than the perspective of an outside observer with meta-knowledge.
>gives a fuck what happens to bunch of soulless automatons
>Be billion year old synthetic superrace created to emulate their psychic octopus masters.
>Fuck up the most advanced species to ever have existed in the galaxy.
>Wipe out the galaxy of civilization countless times.
>Oh hey shepard turns out there's a way to just control them despite us being a stupid infant race. Weird how no one else figured it out huh?
If you pick subjugate unironically then you need to seriously contemplate suicide.
if they really wanted to do a proper twist then a fantastic one would have been to, halfway through ME3, reveal that the crucible is not a superweapon meant to defeat the reapers but rather an ark that can sustain knowledge and a select group of occupants into the next cycle and that stopping the reapers while their plan is set in motion is impossible.
And the rest of the game is the reapers slowly taking over the galaxy while you decide what can and should be saved to give the next cycle the best possible fighting chance
>TFW no option to control the reapers, use them to rebuild, then fly all of them into the nearest star or black hole
