Because it's fun yet challenging (like the 1st and 3rd fight) and has no bullshit mechanics (e.g. arkham). The music is also PATRICIAN/10.

[citation needed]

Not considering superbosses and such, I think my favorite boss fight ever was pic related.

I beat Vergil 3 on my second try but couldn't beat Arkham without a gold orb, how shit am I

YOU WILL NOT FORGET THIS DEVIL'S POWER

YOU'RE NOT WORTHY AS MY OPPONENT

I love the distortion on his voice files

Arkham's a piece of shit, don't be ashamed. Next time try using Nevan.

Isn't that just Devil Trigger voice?

Nice trips and taste.

KH2FM was full of memorable fights. KH3 better fucking live up to it.

i literally can not play it
its too fast
how do u fuck up so badly
144 hz isnt even that uncommon

no boss in the whole series has made me panic and shit my pants like this one
youtube.com/watch?v=rXjIYMRAjn4
no need for music, you know what it is
I can face literally everything in all the series, but these fucks make me NOPE right out of the room before even showing up on the screen, all it takes is for the music to start playing

>no need for music, you know what it is
I mean no need for pics

put it on borderless window, faggot

I prefer Vergil 3, especially on harder diffilcuty modes.

I always liked Vergil 1 and 3 better than 2. Vergil 1 and 3 just seem more kino

that arena is all fucked up though, the walls not being straight irritates me to this very day

Vergil1 has the best aesthetics
>first time playing 3, Vergil comes around
>holy shit this nigga fast
goat boss

the last fight is only popular due to
>Vergil going apeshit during DT
>easy replayability

Are the games balanced around using healing items or not?

kino

Vergil 2 has the best theme, and i'm a sucker for fist weapons so yeah you're right

Vergil 3 > Vergil 2
youtube.com/watch?v=R8I1Hku8GQk&index=117&list=LLsuClWXzDd_iqOi7-pVl-AQ&t=0s

use kalina ann to get rid of the stupid fucking slugs he throws out when he sinks into the ground
it's really dumb but it never crossed my mind until I saw a video of a guy doing it
arkham himself is still a cunt but you should be fine if you can kill the slugs quickly

"Balanced" doesn't really seem like the right word, but items basically exist as a crutch for when you're still learning as these games are designed to be played on DMD while going for S ranks.

theyre balanced around using ur mom kiddo lmao XDDDD

I actually like Vergil 2's music more, but I agree that 3 is the better fight. There's so much more to it than the first two fights.

1 has the best atmosphere for sure

The KH series in general has some really fucking strong bosses. Marluxia 2 and 3 in Re:CoM, and Xemnas in KH2.
>A single moment from KH2 was so good that they turned it into a cutscene in a later game

Attached: tenor[1].gif (390x214, 1.14M)

Not even my favorite boss from that game desu

>virgil will cut the statues surrounding the arena
>2/3rd into the fight
>the rain brings virgils hair down making his and dante's heads look identical

What's the best way to get into this series? Is the recent 1.5 + 2.5 release good? Is the story as dumb as the character designs always made me think it is?

>Is the recent 1.5 + 2.5 release good
Dude more content
>Is the story as dumb as the character designs always made me think it is?
Not quite, but it is convoluted and a little silly.

In some. I know in DMC1 you can use as many items as you want, no penalty, but in 3 and 4 it'll lower your score.

1.5+2.5 Remix is singlehandedly the best way to experience the series.

Start with KH1
CoM/Re:CoM are different, as in it's more of a action card game, but it is enjoyable if you can get into it. If you can't, watch all the cutscenes online
Play KH2
Watch 358/2 Days (Collection turned it into just cutscenes)
Play Birth By Sleep
Re:Coded I also believe got turned into a movie
Then pick up the 2.8 collection and play Dream Drop Distance
Then play 0.2, which is essentially a semi-prequel to the ending of KH1, but is also what's essentially a KH3 demo

Honestly the story has been meme'd about for so long that everyone's perception has been warped by it. 1 has a very beginning to end feel to it, CoM is a sequel, KH2 essentially picks up where CoM left off, 358/2 Days is all about Roxas, Birth By Sleep is a prequel to KH1 and is where the overarching plot and lore comes from, Re:Coded isn't all that important I believe, and DDD is a sequel to KH2. It sounds confusing, but it really isn't. It does get a bit convoluted, and can be a bit of a mess at times, but there are also plenty of videos out there that explain it in full detail if you think there's something you might've missed.

The only thing that I can with confidence say that I love and accept about 4 is the devil trigger designs, even if Dante's isnt as perfect as Vergils

fuck off, casual!

>first time fighting Vergil 3
>mfw Vergil uses Dimension Slash

Attached: 158653800.gif (483x292, 750K)

Nero’s is kind of a disappointment desu. Some QTE with it are cool though

I dont really even count Neros "dt" as a DT design though, I was really talking about Dante and Vergil. Vergils DT looks better than the previously unmatched Sparda DT

I'm playing DMC3 first time, is the guitar a meme or is it actually useful for something?

Attached: dmc3 2018-03-23 23-49-00.jpg (1920x1080, 483K)

Probably the hardest devil arm to use but not a single style/weapon in this game is useless

He disappears in a flash of light. He could still come back. My dream scene is a DMC5 where Dante goes to the underworld and finds Vergil losing his mind and the objective of the boss fight is to break all the controlling armor off of him.

I love it. Super useful for crowd control.

It's good for control control and playing a ranged game. I only played it for the first time last year myself, but I found it very fun. Probably not great for bosses though, unless they summon mobs to deal with.

Thanks, my mistake for trying to use it on the "I hate Sparda!!" boss then..

I want to get good at DMC 3. Should I just start out with Vergil or do something like trickster Dante? (shotgun and cerberus JC is cool)

Attached: think.png (640x640, 111K)

There's a lot about Vergil 3 that bothers me. On lower difficulties, it's easier than 2, but on higher difficulties, it's just more bullshit; he starts chaining together his devil trigger with the invincibility on his summon swords to heal himself. Once he goes nuts in the later part of the fight, I feel like he gets way easier because he's not healing as much and his attacks are easy as fuck to dodge. His moves are slower and easier to predict, the arena isn't as well-designed, and on the more nitpicky side of things, that water texture sucks.

vergil destroys hands and is designed assuming you've beaten the game
do swordmaster your first time to style on enemies. jumping has full invincibility frames so you shouldn't need the trickster dodge if you're good. expect to die regularly

If you think it's bad now, wait until you run into the combat adjudicator on mission 13. Have fun getting SS on that piece of shit. I had to take a few breaks because my fingers were in such pain.

Do whatever you feel like. Getting good at any DMC game means getting familiar with your attacks, enemies, and which moves work well together.

Yeah it's not really good for boss fight. Bring it for mob fights though, it's good and feels fucking good once you get used to the weird controls

Well I already beat the game as both Dante and Vergil, so I was looking into learning to do more cuhrazy shit. I'm just not sure what advanced stuff I should practice and with which style. Also should I be rebinding controls? Jump cancel spamming seems pretty hard on the default controls

very easy, Nevan has an extremely high style build with the swordmaster spin move and the jam session move you can do normally by just mashing

Well lets see

youtube.com/watch?v=1Mi11pfUUrk

There you go

The mashing in DMC3 is no joke, though; if you really wanna keep it going, you gotta go apeshit on that button. Using your full range of moves also isn't easy when you need to hit specific directions with a stick.

William Birkin

Attached: Hand over the rupees.gif (384x240, 525K)

It's easier when you have high style. Doing it with Turbo and at D is fucking painful though

>you gotta go apeshit on that button.

either buffer it or have a high style rank, the mashing gets easier the higher your style is. Its one of the harder adjudicators but not as impossible as someone could think

It's the hardest, if you ask me. Second place would be the one for Beowulf in that platforming shaft; it calls for a SSS if I recall correctly.

Can anyone actually reliably do Million Slash?

Attached: DA_AgniRudra.gif (600x600, 71K)

I could probably do it easily without turbo on but then again I could say that about many things

Who the fuck thought that was a reasonable time-frame to mash? Mashing two fingers barely even reliably gets it out.

>can’t even buffer because it results in the double stab
A&R is probably my least favorite melee

Same. It's just Rebellion but more bland and without a helm splitter and with an ugly mustard-looking air hike.

Me to man. Its so good.

Weird, I actually love the way they look and sound. You're right that they're kind of a worse Rebellion, but the first and air theme and some of the moves look really cool.

>"This playthrough I won't use Rebellion!"
>End up using Rebellion again
So hard to give up the Stinger.

I've never unequipped Rebellion or Ebony and Ivory, although I've considered Cerberus and Beowulf for a Bruce Lee themed move set.

>using anything but rebellion/beowulf

Yeah the round arenas in the first 2 fights work better. The river make the camera go nuts a lot

>*jumps with beowulf and presses trianglewhile you are charging a katana blast*

Nothing personnel big brother

Jeanne

Nero Angelo 1

This is funny, thought people liked A&R. Since Ps2 days it was my favorite weapon together with Rebellion, never changed them for nothing. I'm actually shit at Beowulf and never really used it.

Ma nigga.

beowulf is the best weapon against every boss except nevan and the flying centipede.

What's not to love about beowulf? Killer Bee and Real Impact are both sick, as is that Fist of the North Star type move whose name I forget.

>except nevan
Come again? The uppercut melts through her bat armor like butter on a hot skillet.

Nah dude cerberus is godtier against her.

r1 triangle obliberates her bat shield

I'll remember that, but I still wouldn't discount the effectiveness of Beowulf against Nevan; it even does enough damage to knock her on her ass for extra vulnerability, typically.

Maybe you didn't know but the bosses have hidden elemental weaknesses.

That's why cerberus is recommended against nevan.

In the end it doesn't really matter, al weapons are viable.

>tfw never could get that far

just beg for mercy if you feel the heat

Interesting. Even on DMC4 i was crap with Gilgamesh. Guess its worth a try with them sometime.

I thought she was weak to Beowulf's holy damage

The key to Gilgamesh is charging it, or just using Real Impact obviously, but if you charge it to full, and release the punch on the exact frame it reaches full charge, it'll do big bonus damage. I don't know if that works for the first charge level, but if you distort the attack on top of that it'll do ridiculous damage. For every other enemy just go Swordsmaster, launch them with Prop with Rebellion, switch to Gilgamesh, then do what you want with them while they recover. Easiest way to set up DRIs on heavier enemies.

No, she's weak against ice like centipede and the red twin
The reaper mooks and doppelganger are weak to light

i know it makes zero sense but she is weak against ice, not light.

>mfw first time I got a JC on a boss and melted half their health in one hit

Attached: 1484267918362.png (414x479, 329K)

I did kind of notice that Arachne died real hard to A+R, but I thought I was just imagining things. I thought that elemental weaknesses were disposed of after DMC1; I had no idea they still played a factor in DMC3. Is there a source I can check out for a comprehensive list of weaknesses?

Between DMC3 and Final Fantasy, I have no idea why Japan says that bugs are weak to ice. At the same time, though, some say the opposite, that bugs are weak to fire. I would imagine that most organisms are weak to fire, but whatever.

If elements are still a thing in DMC, then when are we getting earth and water weapons?

So who did he fuck?

Attached: 1482955807510.jpg (1200x1600, 590K)

my mother

Did anyone else hate playing as Vergil in DMC3SE? He had the better dps, no doubt about that, but his air game was weak as fuck. Thank goodness they improved him in virtually every way imaginable in 4.

The main thing I hated was the summoned swords appearing all the time; I hated the way they looked and I didn't want random ranged attacks messing up my weeb katana style.

No they are buggy and unplayable

All these posters too scrubby to play an actual fighting games pointing to tiny generic humanoids as the "best boss fight". How disappointing. How about a fight that truly gives you a new sense of scale and a fear of heights?
