Ni No Kuni 2

Since the other threads are just filled with shitposting, let's discuss the actual game. For those playing it how are you liking it so far? How is the gameplay and story?

A common complaint I hear is that the game is too easy.

So how is the combat?
To be honest graphics & animations looks amazing.I am holding myself from buying it(didnt play the first one) because of what i heard about its difficulty. I don't want something very hard but i feel like wasting my time if it is going to zero challenge and never you lose unless you act retarded on purpose especially with the story looking like generic kid anime.

How unique is its combat, when compared to other JRPGs?
I don't mind easy, but I'd like for it to be more than basic
>attack
>defend
>spcial
>item

just another JRPG, yawn

Story is actually more mature than you would expect it to be. The first was the same way where it dealt with the main character's mother dying and him coming to terms that she's gone for good and no magic will bring her back.

How's the PC port? I assume it's fine since people aren't shitting on it

c-can i play this on my toaster?

Seems to run fine on PC assuming you don't have a toaster and have a relatively up to date PC.

Game is fantastic, pleasantly surprised. Can't believe how fun the combat feels, the charge up mage/range attacks are some of the best I've seen in a JRPG and I can't think of one better off the top of my head. Everything screams polish and just feels like a true little adventure. The city building part is really really fun as well, going out and recruiting people etc. It's deceptively simple at the start, but as you progress more and more opens up and you realize you can change up a lot of things with the higgeldies and bonuses from the city and the board changer thing. Art style is absolute god tier.

Wouldn't expect any good things about this game being on Sup Forums though user, or actual discussion. It's a ps4/pc exclusive so somebody will get annoyed.

>american gets nuked
>president gets isekai'd and becomes young again
>first thing he does is shoot some rat in the face
I'm liking Roland a lot so far

Is difficulty a joke or people are exaggerating ?
Is it one of those games where you never lose unless you try to?

Yup just started the game and the first thing he does is shoot a some poor rat usurper in the face. What a guy.

It is easy, but not as easy as people have been saying, they're exagerrating. It just isn't Dark Souls, which everything has to be. It is hte perfect level of comfy easy where you can just blaze through but also need to be carefull of the higher levels or they'll one shot you but you can, and this is where the planning of equipment, higgledies, and mutiple other things come into place.

The game is very forgiving is the best way to put it.

Pirated it, got bored out of my mind after 2 hours. Skipped the dialogues, mashed the X button, occasional dodge, fall asleep.

Wow

Heard it's a solid 60FPS on max settings @ 1080p with an R9 290, so I'll probably pick it up sooner or later. What's the deal with this second monitor issue I've been hearing about? It getting patched soon?

I have to play on low settings with 30fps to get no stuttering, but other than that it's been a very charming experience so far.

So the first games actual gameplay was cookie cutter as fuck and the AI sucked donkey dicks.

Does the sequel play better?

Good for you user.

Yes, the combat is much better.

>skilled politician
>infinite ammo

Why does he not take over the world immediately?

The sequel is the equivalent of "oh alright, you didn''t like the combat of the first? we'll fucking show you"

they've completely fixed it and made it x10 better. Casting spells/range attacks feel far too good in this game, the animation/partcle effect which goes with it is lovely

Will it run better on a regular PS4 than my gtx 960 pc?

Played only the first part but everything went fine so far on my shitty 7 year old toaster

Tani is cute and I like how she plays.

How did they get away with the panty shot...? You can see her panties at all times with a jump. Not that I was looking, I jus-- It was just there you know I didn't look

Attached: a68.png (520x678, 301K)

Well it's not like she's wearing lewd panties or anything.

I can see why he was president, Broland is going to make Ding Dong Dell great again.

Playing on regular ps4 now and it looks/runs lovely. Not one stutter so far, everything looks fantastic. Genuinely surprised on how good it looks in some places, you can tell ghibli people were all over it.

I think the season pass is a dick move. At least tell us or give us some hint on what these two expansions are going to be. It's basically a gamble if you buy it.

you forgot

>shoots mouse darth vader in the fucking eye

I like how he immediately decides to stay forever too. You just know he thinks America has to be a radioactive wasteland by now so fuck it.

Where is the Game of Thrones comparison coming from? Nothing like that garbage is in the game.

Is there a gay romance between those two characters?

i cant get my xbox controller to work for the pc version. anyone know why or how to fix it?

No.

So don't buy it. It is a dick move, but there's a clear optimal move here on your part. It's not a gamble either, since you actually have nothing to gain by waiting, it's just stupid.

>Age-gap Yaoi
Absolutely God Damn Fucking DISGUSTING. How dare you even suggest that.

>during the majority of the game I was convinced the fantasy world was all in Olly's imagination so that he could cope with his mother's death
>turns out nope it's actually real

That won't stop fujos from doing their degenerate thing. Even despite the ending.

Miles better than FFXV.

It's a better final fantasy than the past 5 or so games.

Hard mode mod when?

I'm not very far in, but it feels like a dumbed down Tales game. Like if you took Zestiria without the camera issues, brought back basic attacks, and slowed the game down even more. The zing gauge and weapon switching are interesting mechanics but don't really add much depth to the combat. It's not quite as engaging as other games.

One other thing. Was the first game also isekai? I find it weird that they'd use FOTM anime trope shit.

No.

Don't listen to the other retards, it's literally just mash button to damage now.

Yes it was, the protagonist was from the real world. "Ni No Kuni" in Japanese literally means "another world" or some shit like that.

I see I must step my weeb game up. Just bad timing now that every anime wants to do the same shit.

>he doesn't know

Ni No Kuni always has twin souls, the rat in NNK2 is actually a jew in his world

Another world is Isekai or something like that (try to translate another world from english to jap on google translator)

>FFXV btfo

Ni No Kuni is "The Second World".

can't wait for hentai version "Nino's Cunny."

fucking love this style when it goes into combat system and straight back into the field map, straight up old school FF style but done even more fluid. Glad it doesn't have a tally screen or something after ever battle

It's a nice comfy game, it's like a childs tale, the type of game you'd play along with your kid to make hil/her discover video games while still having a nice story to follow. The gameplay is actually much better than the first one, and even though the game is indeed easy it doesn't remove a thing from the charm and enjoyment of the game.

7 hours in I like it but some of the text is way too teeny tiny, specifically the flavor dialogue that scrolls by on its own at fucking mach speed. It does seem a lot less ambitious than the first game though. The lack of a Wizard's Companion or a similar 300 page tome to scroll through at your leisure is keenly felt.

thought i was gonna be playing this today, but that shit took like 3 hours to download, an hour and half to extract the iso, and now i have to actually install it, so today's a fucking bust.

Yeah I noticed that mach speed text, I thought it was just my game, that seems like a bit of an oversight.

No. It's boring as fuck. Boss fights are over in about 20 seconds of spamming light attacks.

90% of JRPGs are easy.

are there any multiplayer elements in the game?

I'm sure it's something about the coup, kingdom building, Even's maid being immediately killed off, and the rats slowly poisoning Evan's father

Part of the season pass, yeah. 100 Higgledies drop out of a plane...

Worth it? I was pretty so-so on the original, but I loved Level-5’s PS2 output under Sony.

Is the making of doco any good?

Boku wa evan not for sexual

The only reason I liked the first was for the pokemon-esque creatures, so I guess this one isn't for me

>loli is fine but not shota

how to increase money gain and storage space in kingdom ?

FF should do this type of overworld again

The story is decent, not the best but it definitely works. Graphics are too notch. Combat is fun, but encounters are either way too easy, or you get one shot. Not the deepest game, but it's worth a playthrough.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is way better.

Discuss.

>mfw just got my Premium Edition in the mail

What should I expect

So what the fuck is in the 4GB+ day one patch anyway?

How different is it from the original? While the first game wasn't necessarily bad, I absolutely hated my time with it. I normally love JRPGs but something about that game rubbed me the wrong way. Is 2 more of the same or have there been substantial changes?

You're right. Nothing to discuss.

Just about everything has changed. It's an ARPG now with city building elements. No Pokémon.

Anyone else getting choppy frames?

well for one thing it's more of an ARPG now in that you control the main characters directly, and the spirit things are more like pikmin support or something

Something about this from Level-5 is invoking "Dark Cloud + Rogue Galaxy" in my head.

You'll die a handful of times. Usually you won't die from a random combat encounter (unless you try to go through a ton of them without anything to heal hp), but bosses can kill you

It's decent, the story is really rushed and honestly pretty bad so far. The game is also ridiculously easy, but I'm enjoying the combat regardless.

Imagine paying full price for a game thats gonna be 20 bucks 3 months later LMFAO

the premise is extremely bland thus far and the combat is either completely unengaging in its simplicity or extremely tedious depending on the level of the opponents you are facing

You're wrong, especially considering it's the worst Xenoblade of the serie.

The citybuilding/upgrades and pseudo-pokeymans aspects of the game threw me for a hard loop

is it actually engaging?

isekaid POTUS prove why gun control are bad

>think its gonna be some cutesy rpg ill play in my spare time
>opening scene with nukes
>murder plots
>battle milf
>is that a fucking gun
>hello evan im president nice to meet you
kek what the fuck is going on

Attached: 1521583486948.jpg (728x640, 500K)

Is the difficulty something that could be patched or does it seem baked in like bad AI?

My only issue atm is stuttering, but it seems it's a pretty wide spread issue.

are there any waifus or jigglin tits to see?

Overall is an improvement over the first game
Yes the combat is pretty easy but I'm only like level 16 so maybe that will change, though it is cool you can fight higher level enemies and just by being good with your rolls you can still win
Being able to increase your invincibility frames when evading seems broke but I love that kind of shit
Really enjoying it so far except for the skirmishes, just had the first one and it seems kinda lame and could potentially get troublesome later in the game

The only time I see stuttering is when it has to spawn the items you didn't pick up after a battle

Why is the main character of this game so cute and sexy?

isn't the main character actually a boy?

It is a little easy but that’s not ruining my enjoyment so far. The music is a little obnoxious at points but overall I really enjoy the game so far. I’m just getting to the Niall forest or whatever it’s called

a femboy

but boys aren't supposed to be cute and sexy

femboys are

really?been smooth as butter for me

works fine on my quad-sli mining rig
