>piracy doesn't hurt game sales
Piracy doesn't hurt game sales
There's actually anything wrong with piracy to begin with, it's up to the person selling the product to convince the person that pirates that the product is worth supporting.
>PC port is known to have performance issues
>people don't buy it on PC
This is what pirates actually believe
>multiple studies have shown that piracy does not, in fact, hurt sales
>people still blame piracy for bad games or misaimed audiences
I'm almost exclusively a PC gamer and I wouldn't even pirate this thing with a ten-foot pole. Game looks like shit
>PC port of a niche JRPG sequel to a niche JRPG that came out on PS3 only
Huh, why didn't it sell well?
Yeah, let me just jump into the sequel when the original isn't on PC. Genius.
is this good or bad?
>ask 80$ for a console port
>surprised when people don't buy it.
If you hate piracy of any media you are, literally, a cuck. Cucked by corporations. Game of Thrones is the most pirated tv show of all time and HBO is reaping insane profits from it
pc gamers never buy games
That seems pretty fucking decent.
>implying PC gamers would buy this even if they couldn't pirate it
It's not piracy, it's the fact that good games are buried under a pile of shit in steam and very few care enough to look for them
Fuck off, commie cuck.
It's almost like people don't want to buy shitty ports of games that are kind of mediocre to begin with at full price. If it were released as a good quality port you'd probably not see as many pirates or at least not as many people insisting on pirating.
If it's worth playing, it's worth supporting.
>play 1 game for 1 hour
>here are ten thousand of game you will like according to that one game you have played for 1 hour 5 years ago
It's a single player, Japanese RPG with no microtransactions, online multiplayer. It's also the sequel to a console game from 5 years ago.
Those are pretty good numbers. Context, user, context.
>release sequel on a platform that didn't get the 1st game
>surprised when people don't care
Typical political retard. Life isnt your stupid voting booth Gen Z
I never pirated or bought this game, because I have no interest in it, so no lost sale from me. Alterantively, I might pirate it some day and buy it if I actually enjoy it so that's one extra sale for them.
why would you expect this game to sell well on PC? probably cost almost nothing to port which is why they did it
>make sequel to lousy game
>expect millions of sales
>not early access
>no crafting
>no buggy open world
>no battle royale mode
it was never going to sell well on steam
Pirates don't care about quality, they're 100% driven by the desire to to pay nothing. Don't use pirating as a rubric to measure a game's merit or sales success.
good goy
No, we actually believe everything should be free and corporate scumbags should walk the plank
It's this. Single player games typically don't sell well on Steam unless they have immense marketing campaigns behind them, or multiplayer shit. Steam users typically have really bad taste.
Ok let me just clear this up
In order for a 500+ million production to be viable, you as a dev and publisher have to be able to trust that your players actually pay the fee you're asking. Of course the number is different for indies, but this is why piracy is a problem for AAA -- and why PC is rsrely a first target. In short, you asked for shitty PC ports by pirating.
19pbp
wasting their time even porting it to the PC, that won't even cover the cost to port it, not to mention all the piracy that will prevent console game sales of people who own PC + PS4/Xbox
>>PC port is known to have performance issues
???
Yup, the opportunity cost of porting to PC is increased due to the danger of neutralized sales via pirating. So they do the wise business decision and invest as little as possible into the port.
If it does well? Great, you have fatter profits and better ROI.
If it does poorly? Not too bad, you didn't invest much in the PC port.
Can someone tell me how good the combat is?
Is it comparable to Berseria? (only other jrgp I played on the PC recently)
I don't understand why people try to rationalize their piracy on an anonymous forum. We all know that piracy is wrong, no one can possibly be dumb enough to think otherwise. We don't know or care who you are so just own up to it. You pirate games because it's easy, because you're poor and because you don't care that it's wrong. It's definitely not because of some imagined moral reasoning.
it's more like kingdom hearts
The game is currently being shit on by Sup Forums. Blatant lies like that have been repeated so often, anons are starting to parrot it.
Or the greedy capitalists can take a guillotine and the workers can settle for much less than them, but way more than they were getting previously
There needs to be a global max income
Yeah! Fuck those evil game devs for wanting to be paid for their time and energy!
>everything should be free
underage detected
>price game that has never been on pc at an extortionate price of 75 dollary doos
>expect it to sell
>slavic rune text
Cant understand that shit, amigo. Switch to English por favor.
the devs get paid scraps
So you need about a 1060 to get 60fps at 1080p? It's supposed to be 1080p/60 on a regular PS4 but I have no idea how well it actually holds up.
>We all know that piracy is wrong
>Copying a complex combination of computer codes is wrong.
It's realtime action combat. Instead of standing around taking turns while you issue commands from a menu, you move around freely. Each of your buttons corresponds to a direct attack. You can switch between party members at will. Your little elemental buddies can be gathered together to perform powerful spells.
I haven't paid money for a game since The Sims 2 came out.
Intellectual copyright is a corporate myth holding us back from a golden age
I doubt it comes anywhere near close.
Chances are by "60 FPS" they mean an unlocked framerate.
Yeah, and?
Going multiplat does.
>pay money for a game
>turns out it was just a download file replicated over and over again by the publisher and sold to other plebians
>turns out I can get the same download file from google after a .5 second search for free
>realize games on PC have no value
>see some retard on Sup Forums trying to shame me for letting the industry go to shit for not buying something that has zero inherent value to me as a consumer
>doesn't realize console gamers are the pillar of video games and are the ones who actually buy games and steer the industry anyway
wooooooowww. just pirate games you dumb nigger it makes no difference. thats how its meant to be on PC, let idiots buy games
>devs get paid
This desu. Right now I'm poor so I pirate, but I believe if I had money I would still pirate because deep down I don't give a fuck.
dude the majority of steam users are poorfags, that's why cheap pixel/retro shit sells so much
>radeon housefire beating a 1080 Ti
Not him but you don't have to be a corporate bootlicker to not qualify as a leftist or commie. This is why people hate cuckservatives.
>let whales buy games
And yet companies that don't follow intellectual copyright law don't produce shit as good as ones that do. Because what's the point of putting in effort and creating something if someone is going to duplicate it and sell it for 5% of your price?
>not having raw torrent folder names
Yeah, I have no idea but given it's also a Switch game it could actually run at a stable 60. I haven't seen any videos from digital foundry, nx gamer, etc.
how about being morally honest about fair wages
The marketing was so poor it didn't even convince me to pirate the game, let alone buy it. Got no one to blame but the publisher.
AFAIK the Switch version hasn't even been announced, and if it ever does come I'm expecting 720p-900p docked and 600p-720p undocked at 30 FPS.
This accomplishes 2 things:
- It drives developers away from the PC platform because they're not being compensated for their work
- It gives undue power to whales, letting them dictate what DOES come to the platform
You're a fucking idiot.
Exactly. This isn't some big budget AAA title. These numbers on the day of release aren't too bad. Dark Souls 1 only did a little bit better on PC, and I doubt many people consider that a failure.
Giorno is gay
>The Movies
fuck i miss those ancient Sup Forums threads when we made stupid movies that the thread tossed ideas at...
hate to break it to you but whales literally dictate every aspect of your life
this. Someone who bought it put up the torrent to download, it was theirs to give so taking them up on the offer is not wrong.
>convince an ethicless poorfag thief to buy something he could steal for free
No, they don't. Otherwise things would look drastically different.
>ethicless
>poorfag
just world fallacy much?
oh, I thought it was. I may be confusing it with another game then.
>Thinking its piracy hurting weeb shit sales
>NNK1 was a niche JRPG that was PS3 only
>"Why isn't the PC version selling like PUBG? must be pirates"
It's actually not theirs to give. They didn't make the game, they do't have copyright, or distribution rights to do what they're doing. So it actually IS wrong.
First game was average.
Second game is a third of the length.
Maybe they'll get it right the third time.
the sequel and the first game aren't plot related so i don't know why people try to use that excuse
things are the way they are because of heavy regulation, but not near enough
a born whale employs you for instance
might I suggest we stop allowing them to exist altogether?
Pirates should all hang
they're all gay, user
>Was going to buy it but game got cracked
That is a loss sale. How hard is that to understand.
...
>pretending anyone wanted to play shit yes shitty 2
get fucked, loser
what about joseph? "NICCCEEEEEE"
>steal one thing
>one less thing
>copy a thing
>two things
victimless crime
needs a 400$ vga to run the same as the 200$ console
bhawhwabhwahwahbawhbbhwahbawhb
Most people would steal things if they could.
Make an open air restaurant with no security of any kind? People will order food and run away with it.
Sell cars in a parking lot with keys in the ignition? People will steal the cars.
Food on display at a store? People will steal the food
Banks notice there's no regulations on signing people up to lucrative deals without knowledge? Banks will do exactly that
The only thing that gives people pause about stealing is consequences. The fewer there are, the more likely they are to steal.
EVAN IS CUTE. HE WILL BE GOOD KING
the rich should all lose their heads
Not really, that's Max Settings. PS4 is running at low to medium settings.
If you don't have distribution rights, you are committing a crime against those who made the game. Victim right there.
Why would I pay for something when I know you moralfags and normies will so I dont have to?
Its free
Its easier
Its untraceable (if you arent retarded)
That literally sums up piracy. If anyone says they will pay for it later, they are a fucking liar, or literally more cucked than moralfags.
Looking at the current stats, I don't think piracy has much to be blamed about.
Nah, PS4 will run this game at 40-50 FPS on medium low settings.
>consequences
yeah, no. I'm not a psychopath user. normal people aren't just itching to steal and kill willy nilly.
there's this thing called common sense. we only have laws for consequences to deter crazy antisocial degenerates like you
Considering the first game is 75 fucking hours long and padded to hell and back and had fucking retarded AI companions? What you said about 2 is an improvement. A drastic one.
I hate pirate-defense rhetoric.
Just listening to it makes me think of the fat fuck Richard Stallman. Imagine cracking the skull of Stallman, and hearing a fucking "AKSHULLY... GNU/LINUX..." nerd who thinks the "U ARE A PIRATE XD" meme song is hilarious scream as you did it.
I have a 1060 6gb and I've been getting constant frame stutters and frame drops to 40-30fps
