Thanks doc

5, 8, or 10 are worse.

Gracias shaman

Gracias, doctor

Any one of the X series.

Let's get this out of the way

9=2>6>8>7>10>5>4>3>1

merci, petite doctoresse

Is that a suppository, doc?

LOL LE DAILY DOSE SO FUNNAY XD

Both Megaman 2 and 1 are worse than 7.

Dose is not enough doctor.

hey

angry shitposter

4 3 and 1 all at the bottom??
I never knew I could disagree with someone so much

I agree with this for the most part, other than 3 being so low. Switch 8 and 3 and it's perfect.

not him, as I like 3 the most, but 1 is pretty terrible. I appreciate it because it spawned the series, but it's probably the weakest out of all of the games.

that arent the DOS ones

>2 being that high
Lolno.

5>3=9>2=10>1>7>4=6>&B>8

I really, really liked the gravity gimmicks in 5

5, 8 and 1 are all much worse.

3 is overrated.

>Doc robot stages
>Ridiculous slowdown
>Ridiculous sprite flickering
>Doc robot stages
>Worst weapons in the classic series
>Easiest Wiley Castle
>Doc robot stages
>Pathetic Protoman encounters

Best thing it did was give us Rush.

Check out this hipster fuck

6 > 3 > 9 > 5 > 2 > 10 > 4 > 7 > 8 > & Bass > 1

But seriously MM1 really is the worst classic game in the series.

>I really, really like the gravity gimmicks in 5
I don't fucking believe you. Prove it.

10>4>9>7>6>2>5>3>8=1

I feel like people say this when they think it is too hard. The legitimate hardest part of the game is the fire steps in wily 1

You just gotta take my word for it man

Thanks Roll

>I really, really liked the gravity gimmicks in 5
me too desu. play metal storm on nes.

danke herr doktor

The boss rush is literally just luck because of shit like Fireman and you can get hit after you kill a robot master because it locks your controls.

1 is probably the objectively worst because it's simply outclassed by its sequels in terms of level design, bosses and mechanics. That said, I don't feel any ill will towards it the way I do a game like 7.

Someone didn't their meds

>shit like Fireman

You do realize Fireman has an AI exploit right? Just walk towards him, he'll try to walk away. Repeat while shooting his ass.

MM2 is beyond overrated

>absolutely terrible weapons aside from metal blades
>metal blades kill any challenge the game could have had
>levels feel short and devoid of life, Flash Man's is over in like 1 minute
>everything after entering Wily 1 is awfully made like the Flicker Dragon and Flicker Room

Worst classic is 6, worst X that isn't 7 is 5.

I really did not like 10 at all, I think its tied with 8 for worst

10 and 6 are my favorites.
5 and 7 are the most boring.
8 is pretty fun once you learn how to fuck around in it.

Why does Sup Forums hate 8 so much? It had the best soundtrack and great stages. Do people only remember JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE and the shitty voice acting?

Mega Man 8 is my favorite

youtube.com/watch?v=UkIS7mAfzGU

I never played 8 but don't all the weapons only hit as hard as the uncharged mega buster?

I was expecting Searchman or Aquaman and was genuinely disappointed

It's actually 5 like this post.

>X5
>worse than X6

RIP thread

Beyond the Legends series, due to having nothing to connect them to the Megaman series beyond branding and "blue hero", I'd honestly think MM2 would be one of the worst by this point of time. It has nice music and set the series on track to being what it is, but the same could be said for Megaman 1 "Go back and get Magnet Beam" in regards to bad designs people glaze over. Stuff like the Crash Bomb boss in the Wily Fortress is pure garbage, and the fact the stage itself has so many dead points to slow the game down outside of dragging the experience onward is miserable, especially for newer players, which is the audience for MM2 with how it gets referred as the "entry / best" MM game.

Bland MM games by the number are more acceptable than two in this day and age, but it seems to be immortalized as some amazing game since it laid the groundwork for future titles and came out after a rocky first entry in the series. Megaman 3 trumps it in every way possible, save for possibly the Doc Bots.

Outside of that, MM&B would be my next canidate for worst in the series, simply due to the fact that Capcom went Souls series retard with "OUR GAMES ARE HARD! HAVE FUN!" with bullshit thrown in at every step. When Megaman has to have a bab platform added to King's fight just to stand a chance to hit him, instead of designing the boss around Megaman's style, that's when you know they fucked the design up.

Nah, the weapons in 8 hit pretty decent, but the problem lies in ammo efficiency being garbage. The average weapon in MM8 doesn't usually have enough charges to kill the boss the weapon is strong against.

This is why Rockman 5 is banned in Cambodia along with children's card games.

>X6 or 5
>Worse than X4
X > X2 = X3 > X6 > X5 > X4

He got it for once.

Does not liking 9 mean I'm bad or something?
I found it a lot harder than the earlier titles and buying energy tanks seemed like a necessity since I kept dying to bosses before I had any weapons

>Searchman

noice

What terrible taste. X4 is arguably better than X1. X6 is literally unplayable.

>X6 is literally unplayable.
Sure thing, my dude. Just admit the levels are too hard and move on.

X4 is slightly overrated and is only good when your playing as Zero

2 > 9 > 8 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 1 > 10 > 7

X1 > X2 > X6 > X6 > X4 > X3

MML2 > MML1

Nice.

Everything from 10 on up is a good time.

Yeah fighting the same miniboss 6 times in Blaze Heatnix's stage is good design.

I genuinely think 2 is kind of a middling game and have no idea why it gets touted as the poster child for the series. The stage design was pretty garbage and Metal Blades made every other weapon obsolete.

I mean it's okay, but I'd rather play a whole half of the series over it

Fucking this. I loved MM9 but it's late Wily stages were a disaster to play.
>mfw trying to navigate the conveyer belts and be patient with the boss in Wily Stage 3

m-muh music.
m-muh needing to fit in with the hi/v/emind.
m-muh haven't played MM 2 since I was a kid so it's perfect.

Arigato sensei

I loved 9 so much I grinded the heck out of it 'till I got Mr. Perfect. I don't see how people find 9 so hard when the weapon set is one of the most busted in the series. Jewel Shield alone trivializes half of the game. That's why It's my favorite in the series, the weapons are so useful and fun to use. Never quite got there with 10 though

I feel like the vast majority of people who play Mega Man don't use the weapons outside of boss fights, which is just silly. it's like they're missing the whole point of the game

At this point MM2 is only popular with critics since the majority of the fanbase has long since turned their back on the game.

What hivemind? You can't even go to a Mega Man thread without someone calling 2 overrated. If anything MM3 is the "Classic Mega Man game that your suppose to like"

>lame bait

4>3>10>2>9>7>1>6>5

Thanks doc

I went back to MM2 and MM3 several months back. I didn't really find them too fun and thought many of the stages ugly. If I had to guess why they have a good reputation, I'd say because of music and memorable (sort-of unfair) challenges in the levels like the Quickman lasers.

>Quickman lasers
Is it possible to all the collectibles in this section?

Attached: quick-lasers.png (256x224, 6K)

And the fact that at the time they offered improvements over the original game and both helped turn Mega Man into a block buster franchise while still offering new ideas. In fact something fans don't understand is that the reason non-hardcore fans stopped caring about the series as it went on was because too much rehashing and not enough new ideas.

you have to be quick

*to get all

I don't think it's possible to get that ammo capsule
someone should make a TAS to do it anyways

Mad Man

Speaking just for myself, a lot of it comes from the look and the sound design. The music for every stage carries the mood perfectly and the sound effects got markedly worse for 3 onward (9 and 10 bringback most classic sounds but they forgot the death sound. The VERY BEST ONE). Each of the RM's stages has a distinct and vibrant look, many constantly in motion. And the explosions never fail to satisfy. At least once a year I play through this in a completely blacked-out room and let the light show after clearing every Wily Stage boss fill the room. Epileptics don't know what they're missing.
It really holds up aesthetically, even against contemporary pseudo-retro because it's obvious they were trying to make the best goddamned look and sound they could.
tl,dr - nostalgia plays a part, sure, but it has an undeniable stylistic pop that the sequels lack even if they're more polished.

The ammo is just for people who want to prolong their Time Stopper anyways.

It’s really ironic and borderline hypocritical to call later game rehashes when MM3 has pointless rematches with MM2 robot masters and brings back new (and more pathetic) versions of Yellow Devil and Copy Robot from MM1.

Are we talking about the classic or the X series?

Mega Man 1's level design is just awful and Mega Man 2 wall boss and the alien are just shit.

Mega Man 3 recycles it's levels and at least, it doesn't have the same bullshit as Mega Man 2 wall boss and alien boss.

Mega Man 4 is just unbalanced and the boss weaknesses are just shit.

Mega Man 5 is just way too easy
Mega Man 6 best 8bit Mega Man imo
Mega Man 7 level design was good and i liked that each level had its own theme
Mega Man 8 never got into 8
Mega Man 9 no charge shot or slide and the level design was just god awful
Mega Man 10 Sheep Man nuff said
