CUTE

Cute, fun and comfy.

spbp

Decent job at mimicking old 3D platformer style, good music, lousy VA outside of the Mafia guy.

PC version is great
Don’t get PS4 version: no mods

It's a 6 hour game for 30 dollars, with a lack of challenge, a lack of content, only three levels, awful voice acting, and graphics that look like they belong in the previous generation. 5/10, would only buy for 10 dollars.

what's there is really good, but the game is far too short to justify the price. 6.5/10, would be a solid 8 if it were maybe 10 bucks

Pedo shit

they fuckin or

i thought Snatcher was ok. the cooking cat was easily the worst though

It's a fun, cute, comfy, and has some really stand out levels like Murder on the Owl Express or the mansion level.
It's really short and ignore every VA except Snatcher but overall I think it's worth it. (and some of the music is pretty great as well)

Not worth it for 30 dollars.

it was alright

one of the most visually unappealing video games i've ever played

Good game that could've used a few more worlds. At least theres mods, and DLC worlds upcoming.
Hoping if a sequel ever happens, they try to make it have around 6-8 worlds on launch.

It's a lot of fun and really well-constructed all around(the music and environments are excellent), but too short. I'd say it needed twice the number of worlds it has at the given size, but at least they're adding two more in a later update. I don't know if they're going to squeeze them into the main game, make them post-game, or kind of just tack them on there and you can hit them up if you want. You lose nothing playing it now, but it might not be a horrible idea to wait for the extra shit; problem is the additional worlds are probably still a long way from being ready if you do choose to wait. I have a couple other nitpicks:
Collecting all the things doesn't affect the game at all.
You're given a (seemingly impactful)choice which has no purpose other than to be the narrative equivalent of scratching your right ass cheek instead of the left.
A couple of the hats are nearly useless. Not a huge thing really, but since there are only six in the game it feels like they should have gotten a bit more play.
You have to waste a badge slot for one of your required abilities(badges are for altering certain mechanics of Hat Kid). Similarly, you have to use a badge to take screenshots. They can be swapped out at any time, but both of these functions shouldn't have used a badge at all.
The camera can be a douchebag at times, more than usual for this sort of game.
There are God of Vaseline levels of depth of field, and disabling it requires you to either manually edit some config files or use console commands.

You can disable depth of field from the in-game options now, actually.

I loved this game. It was a fun, cute, and refreshing experience. I found the movement to be smooth and responsive (except on 1 or 2 occasions where my character did very unusual stuff).

My only real complaint that it's short and it was pretty easy. I'll play it more and try some mods out when the developers add the extra levels.

Good platforming
Nice use of hat mechanics
Some VAs could use some work
Resolution felt rushed (Mustache girl did nothing wrong)
Some game-breaking glitches around prompts with NPC interaction
Cluttered art direction sometimes hinders the navigation of levels
A little too much yarn
Decent soundtrack
Creative level goals
Wish there was more control over character customization

Overall, it was a good, enjoyable game.

Fun game
A bit too easy and forgiving, but still fun and with just enough depth in its movement to keep you hooked.
Soundtrack's OK, a lot of forgettable music, but some tracks are catchy and great.
Writing's pretty standard, some good bits here and there (Snatcher's contracts are for scribbling), though the ending feels a bit rushed and we really don't get enough interaction with Mustache Girl to really view her as anything more than a minor nuisance until the end of the game. I think having her as an occasional boss character after you collect enough hourglasses would have made her have more impact as a rival.
The game hands you yarn hand over fist, and modding makes those roulette wheels at the end of certain time rifts a non-issue after a while.

Overall, 8/10. Enjoyable, but lacking in a few areas to really cement it firmly in the annals of indie fame.

Not Mario Odyssey/10

I might buy it now

>shadman

Game's director is a theiving cunt and it's a shame they couldn't make cell shading work in the game's engine, but yeah, it plays really well and is genuinely funny at times.

damn it

I laughed quite a bit at this game too. Snatcher was a great character.

Are there any good nude mods?

100% unironically worse than yooka laylee

6/10
Too easy
Too unpolished
Too short

6 hours is a bit generous and I am talking about 100% the game

>genuinely funny at times
This, at worst it's roll your eyes inoffensive humor but it also had some surprisingly funny moments. Like if you find her secret hideout and read her diary Hat Girl has a pretty sassy layer, or if you refuse to give mustache cunt the final time piece the reaction Hat Girl gives is pretty good.

I want to ____ Hat Girl!

I think it’d been better with a more serious or neutral tone, it’s too overfilled with these gags and at least half of them are very basic and corny in a stale way and it’d probably been for the better to ditch at least 50% of the unfunny jokes so that it wouldn’t feel so forced.

Getting over it with bennet foddy is the better platformer.

2017 GOTY, and that's even before its highly anticipated NG+ and co-op updates.
It's a damn well near absolutely perfect playformer. Odyssey may be larger and actually have more mechanics for platforming, and I respect that, but AHIT is just feels plain better. Might be the soundtrack that pushes it above all else.
I listen to through the soundtrack at least once a week. It's just too damn good.

Also PC version is free

Decent 3D platformer

You forgot to tell people that they have to buy the soundtrack

>buying music

Back at release there was some loser telling everyone here that they have to buy the soundtrack for whatever reason, I thought you were memeing that fag.

Holy shit what happened to my grammar in nearly every sentence.
To bed I go.

No

I'll be right there.

It's a fun platformer with decent mechanics. However, it's super fucking short (like 10 hours to 100% the game) and the final non-boss world is pretty garbage. The bird studio level was fucking A+ though

This game is horribly optimized though, like you’d expect it to run really well due to it having so simple visuals and not tons of shit going on but no, for some reason it seems almost like they didn’t batch any of the drawcalls or something, like I don’t understand what they did to make this so poorly optimized.

You have to have a genuine mental disorder to unironically think AHiT is better than Odyssey. If Odyssey didn't come out last year, I would probably have said AHiT was my favorite platformer, but there is absolutely no contest. Or are you just trying to be contrarian?

Took me 5 hours to 100% at a very casual pace. Bigger flaw is how fucking easy it was, surely they understood that the biggest audience for this would be gamers with some experience in games due to it not bein some big family name like mario, dunno what they were thinking.

See the image, obvious sarcasm.

fuck

Forgot about it and moved on.

Only true if you have prior experience playing the game. On average its longer for people who didn't play the beta.

I would gift this game to my little cousin to introduce them to gaming.

>tfw bought it on gog and regretted it because slow updates and no workshop
>refunded and got it on steam
>new levels when??

I introduced my little brother through old games instead.

It's alright
Pretty much no effort was put into actual level design beyond each level's theme and has no dificulty curve because of that but the base mechanics are solid and the fact that the game is short actually helps it not wear out its welcome

people shit on the 4th level, but i think the twlight bell level had some of the most consistent theming of the entire game. Only subcon forest comes close

Actually thought went into the design but the dev just had some really stupid ideas about what constitutes as good design and gameplay, you can see from some dev streams where he talks as if he’s some master designer and puts down many games, pretty typical attitude not translating to actual results scenario
In the end the game is just too fucking obvious and easy

It's what if Super Mario Odyssey was done right.

By which you mean "was on PC and starred a loli" since Hat's gameplay is objectively worse in literally every respect.

I want to lick Shad's abs!

so many levels feel like it was just 'throw everything at the wall and see what sticks', esp the first level but it got better as the game went on

Nah real probelm with ahit is shit level design, very short and filled with cartoon skit garbage, the movement is fine.

Calm down user this is a Christian image board.

I played it on two different but practically identical computers and on one it crashed 80% of the time you tried to open it, and 10% of the time trying to get to the main menu, and when it worked it ran like total garbage even at lowest settings.

On the other computer: completely perfect no problems ever everything fine. Beat and 100% completed and had a great time.
