Where were you when QLED killed OLED?

QLED is superior in virtually every front from contrast to durability. So if you feel for the OLED meme for you gaming needs then know that you've a huge mistake.

Have a nice day!!

How's the latency?

Well, just wait until OLED get printed and cheap enough to be used everywhere with flexible panels.
There will be OLED screens on shirts, on cereal boxes, on posters, on billboards, plastered all over the walls, on every computer component you can imagine.
They will make RGB lights look like a joke, and bring in a terribly bright future.

>QLED is superior in virtually every front

Enjoy your vertical backlight issues, and no, latest firmware and power reset doesn't fix this completely. Also there's a visible vertical line right at the center of the screen

All stars in space are just incredibly advanced civilizations.

i literally dont care at all

also they wanted $6k for this shit, and it's a flagship q9, 6k EURO in germany

Rather deal with easily fixable banding issues than sit there worrying about burn in and babying a tv like a fucking retard. QLED > OLED

>easily fixable banding issues

they can't be fixed, unless you won the panel lottery

>new monitor is bright and perky, with a rich color palette showcasing beautiful imagery
>"old" monitor is shown displaying a dull and dingy landscape with a clear absense of color
This is the part where I ask why marketers are still doing the same shit as when they advertised the "old" product, but we already know the answer.

I don't think you can call a civilization that plasters screens everyfuckingwhere advanced by any means.

They said all that shit over a decade ago. I know because I had to do a report in high school on it.

>Where were you when QLED killed OLED?
playing games and not giving a shit

>(you)

What is qled? Just oled with hdr?

Both are shit because I am rendering that picture just fine on my current IPS monitor.

it's a LCD with a special layer that glows red of green when blue light hits it

That's baby play.
Check out my HDQLED!

>QLED
Yes, it is better. Shame it doesn't exist. Samsung's qled is not actual qled, it's just marketing.

I've been hearing this shit since literally the late 2000s

How's the input lag on TVs these days?

Enjoy your lmaonoblacks

Need to go brighter.

Sounds like a much better world.

could give a fuck less

just give me a screen to play games on and im happy

I'll spend the cash if they have excellence input lag

>Technology evolves and improves over time
Who could have ever saw this coming, I'm so shocked. It's gonna be stupid fucking expensive for awhile though.

86” oled 4k tv bravia ower here playing on the ps4 pro at 240fps
Nice try poorfag

Okay, we now did set the blue leds at 30% of their power now!

Crashing this board..

>QLED is superior in virtually every front from contrast to durability
That is a fuckin lie.
I went to the store and the QLED looked like fucking ass. The OLED on the other hand looked fucking proper crisp and way brighter.

CRT. It was already a perfect technology. All it needed was higher bandwidth connections to increase resolution and refresh rate.

>Dell M993
>800x600 144hz
>playing UT99, Quake 3, CS1.6 etc on that
Fucking gloriousness that no LCD owner will ever understand.

Honestly i know this is a joke but the bigger the TV the worse the image seems to be. My 42" looks better than ny 72"

is no one going to answer the only question that matters?

It's not a joke. I barely know shit about this kind of tech but the bigger a screen is, you need to compensate with higher resolution.

look up pixel density

Well yeah, PPI.

Technically, the best PPI you can get right now are on certain phones, and it looks fantastic.

What kind of an agreement is this?
>you “fell for the meme” of buying hot new trend at the time
>NO NO NO NO YOU GOTTA HAVE THIS HOT NEW MEME ITEM

>Modern phones have 4K oled panels
>meanwhile most laptops are still 1366x768

Wrong on both. I remember 2 years ago looking for a phone and getting a 1440p one and most people said it was useless for phones. I don't know if it's common now, but less than 1080p is rare unless it's a really shitty low budget 'top.

I've had a LG OLED for over a year now. I love it!

High end phones have the best screens possible because of how densely packed their PPI is. A 70 inch 4K tv is inferior to a 20 inch 4K tv in picture quality

I don't watch TV.

1080p = ~2 million pixels
2 million pixels looks very soft stretched out across a 72" screen.
4K = ~8 million pixels
This would look better at 72", though still softer than 4K on a 55" or 42" set.

It's the same picture quality if you sit further back. Having your face right up against a 20" 4k monitor vs sitting several feet away from a 70" 4k TV will be roughly the same.

How on Earth is an OLED (a display technology that is, by its very nature dimmer than LCD) beating out a QLED display (which is just a LCD with fancy version of LCD)?

The real advance for LCD is micro LCDs, which dramatically improve pixel density, color reproduction, and black levels.

>OLED too expensive
>IPS has meh black levels and grey-to-grey response relative to the other 3
>TN has shit viewing angles, colours are awful and inaccurate relative to the other 3
>VA has _________

QLED is snake oil sold to dumb consumers who think it's as good or better than OLED when it doesn't even come close.

It's shit, and TVs are overrated. Movies are best on a projector, and everything else is best on a monitor.

so how do you watch everything else with your family of 4 on a 24 inch monitor?

OLED's bigger. I'll take that

I don't watch my porn with my family. It should be obvious that TV shows go under the "movies" category, but then again I am on Sup Forums.

>VA has the backing of a guild that recently improved their salary

>TVs are overrated
as long as you're not gaming (generally speaking TVs have shit grey-to-grey and input lag, especially cheap TVs), they're better value than a monitor most of the time. You can get a 4k tv for like $400, a 4k HDR tv for like a grand, and both can be twice the size of any monitor you can buy.

If you need a huge screen, get a projector.

First thing that came to mind.
Even on a showroom floor I can sneakingly suspect the settings of cheaper models have been fucked with.

I admit, I've never really owned a good projector. Don't you still need to pretty much have a pitch black room for them to compete with the contrast and colour levels of a good tv or monitor? and aren't good projectors still way more expensive than a similar specced TV? The projectors my local cinema uses are amazing with OLED tier visuals but probably way out of reach for individuals

sure ill pay 7 grand for the only 1080p output capable hybrid

>Spending money on a screen instead of gpu
>Not using crt for superior colour reproduction and framerates
It's like you hate videogames.

They're more expensive, yeah, but that shouldn't be an issue if you're first world. I believe the really nice screens work in daylight now, but imo movies should be watched in the dark no matter what you're using, for a better experience.

retard

>not having a high-end GPU and a $1000 monitor

>LED
-Blue wears out within a couple of years.
-Severe burn in
+Great looking blues while they last
+Black is black, no backlight

only tech worth a shit is hybrid and those are all business resolutions besides that one

I'm fine with 60 FPS and 60 Hertz displays. Any decent ones that are 30 inches or bigger? I can't play on 24 inch displays anymore, too small.

I only play weebshit, not a lot of HDR in jrpgs and vns is there?

Attached: Shiina.Kagari.full.2263128.png (2667x1604, 229K)

eh, you're only fine with it because you haven't experienced better. Having said that, most 60hz monitors can overclock to 75hz which is decent so if you can get a good sized cheap one all the more power to you.

The chinks have a fhd laser projector for 2k.
Not sure if good deal though.

I'd get an oled if i didn't have to worry about that shit burning in constantly or the fact that it degrades so quickly. You buy a decent tv and expect to have that shit for at least over 5 years..

Yeah, this is the main reason I don't want an OLED. They have image retention issues so using them for PC use is a big no-no. They're also pretty dim.

But yeah, having to baby a display device = fuck that.
