Absolute garbage, but still way better than Oblivion

Just imagine if Skyrim has been released by Nintendo. It would go down in history as the greatest game of all time.

fucking love it

Its fun

I despise almost everything about it and the hatred only grows over time.

It did and it was called Breath of the Wild.

was fun but the combat is awfull

Coming up on my 11,000th hour of vanilla Skyrim bros about to start my second play through.

Do you suggest I be a skink man or a Briton?

It's a perfect example of how badly can a game could age poorly over the years.

I finally understand how Morrowind fans felt like when Oblivion was released.
This game set the standard for what the average consumer is willing to pay for several times over and not complain.
The only reason people turned on Bethesda was when they tried pushing mods again.
Both Fallout and Elder Scrolls will continue to degrade till the sun goes out.

It's okay. Great with mods.

Loved it as a teenager

years later realize how fucking awful it is

Put like 800 mods on pc version to make it not retarded

Can be fun with mods if you like that sort of game

i was disappointed with it when it released, it had a shallow rushed storyline, unlimited bugs, was easily broken and after getting into it you discovered that the game felt very unfinished and many parts of it were a horrendous letdown. The ONLY saving grace for this fuckpile was the modding community, however after nearly six and a half years, other games released have only shown just how much bethesda squeezed the soul and passion the devs had out of this game. Games like TW3 and DOS2 only show what an RPG CAN be, and how much bethesda failed either because of pure greed or laziness. And they just keep fucking porting it to new consoles.

I like but I don't like how there's no change in diaglogue with anyone depending on which race you choose to play as.

>Nords are racist against elves
>Tried to play as every elf
>Nothing changes
>mfw

can you create your own character from scratch in Witcher 3? I've never played it

Seriously though, why does Sup Forums hate Skyrim but loves botw? Is Nintendo just held to lower standards?

I seriously believe that if Skyrim was kept exactly the same except it looked like a Nintendo game and was released by Nintendo it would be praised here

Its a good game. But its popular. And Sup Forums are pretentious hipsters. So it sucks. But it's actually pretty good. And with mods really good.

One of my favourite games ever. I feel like it’s cool now to shit on it, but when it came out literally everybody praised it.

Good game, bad Elder Scrolls RPG. Disgustingly sterile UI, RPG should have comfy menus and diary. Hope they use a new engine for the next installment.

No, you can only customize the default geralt with hairstyles and different armor types depending on your build. for a game that gives you that kind of freedom though DOS2 was perfect, if you havent played that then you really should. I was never into RPGs with turn based tactical combat, and figured the whole fully 3d top-down thing would be gay. I also was really NOT into high fantasy settings, like I fucking loathed them. But DOS2, a turn based combat top-down fully 3d high fantasy RPG, is without a doubt my GOTYAY

Skyrim is game of the decade

I like it quite a bit, big step up after the disappointment that was Oblivion. But obviously, we won't get a Morrowind-caliber TES game ever again.

Morrowind was better.

Skyrim has some good mods though. There's even a few DLC sized ones.

Cool. I'll give it a try! thanks, bro

Fallout 4 really made me appreciate Skyrim a lot more

>Disgustingly sterile UI, RPG should have comfy menus and diary.
I still miss the Oblivion UI. Supremely comfy

its an adventure. get pet pal perk asap, preferably in the character menu. every last thing in that game is fully VA'd by excellent actors, including animals... who all talk like how youd expect their respective species. They give clues, directions and quests. Plus help build lore and give a laugh or some feels

Had much better leveling compared to oblivion

It's okay with mods.
People love it because it doesn't have any serious competition in the subgenre of create-your-own-character open world fantasy ARPGs. I mean there is Dragon's Dogma, a way better game, but in comparison it does have a seriously underdeveloped world (I heard it was supposed to be way larger.)

I still think it should be possible to make a game of such a scope and include at least decent combat, enemy variety, story, characters, dialogues, dungeon design, small & large quest choices and several other things.

The latest examples of open-world games, (Fallout 4 & BotW) made me appreciate it a bit more.

With porn mods it's one of the best lewd games ever.

It was fun and I enjoyed it.
Though I think its retarded that there was no killing animation for Alduin.
That was the gayest shit ive ever seen and its more proof if how stupid devs can be
>chasing this dragon the whole game
>having a cool battle with him
>degeat him with a random backswing and swing one more time at his defeated body when his death begins
Shit was gay

Only play for the gameplay

>"Dude it's WRPG that main story is supposed to suck so you have to play the actually fun side quests."
Years later, I can't believe I fell for this meme.

It's mediocre without mods if you're not experiencing it for the first time. With mods, it's pretty good.

If you had to decide whether only Fallout 4 or Skyrim existed, which would you choose?

i love it and it makes my day that this shithole can't get over it after 6+ years

It’s really good but suffers from a lot of mediocre development decisions. One of the most flawed games of all time, which is why time played is almost directly related to someone’s opinion of it.

I always get motion sickness when playing it
I don't know why, it's the only game where I have this, I've been playing all kinds of video games for decades

sucks monkey fucks

Skyrim. Fallout 4 is objectively trash. The only redeeming quality it has is semi-satisfying gun play. The world is trash and boring, the story fucking sucks, they 100% took out anything that let you role play in any way, and the quests are absolutely god-awful. I have played nearly every Bethesda game from Morrowind onward, and fallout 4 is the only one I absolutely cannot stomach, even with mods.

It’s the world that really gets me. It’s inexcusably bad. The cities are horrendous and for the most part the wasteland is completely boring

F

A relatively poor game gameplay wise, but the world it creates is my favourite world to get lost in.

I don't do quests or story or any if that, I install some survival mods and just walk around, occasionally taking on a fortress or cavern.

Comfy as hell.

Really boring, really overrated. Anybody I know who praises this game doesn't play many games.

Great on the first playthrough. Surprised that sidequests go pretty deep. Kinda weak when it comes to playstyles though. Always end up playing as a thief in some variation.
Motivated me to try morrowind at some point

One of the best games in this decade, of course!

the least fun combat of any game from the past 10 years

The Witcher 3 is a runner up

I remember buying it on release day, playing it for about a week straight and then never touching it ever again. Not the worst thing ever. Not the best. It didn't capture me like Oblivion and I never got into modding.

>being this contrarian

9/10 world design and music in a 5/10 game

>liking games with shit physics, no weight behind weapon swings and clunky animations

gameplay is the most important part of a game
The Witcher would be amazing if it was actually fun killing the monsters and tracking them
but instead we get an arrow pointing to kill the monster and we spam the same 3 buttons to kill it everytime

HOW THE FUCK AM I STILL CARRYING 317 POUNDS!!! - The Game

The limited inventory actually annoyed me a lot.
Maybe it was not the intention that I loot the whole equipment of a guy I just killed, but it's my desire as a loot-sponge.
And the endgame turns into teleporting between vendors, because nobody has enough gold to buy all my rare expensive shit I found.

how's the VR version?

Just started playing as a heavy armored guy for the first time.
Now I get all those iron dagger forging jokes.

I like Skyrim but the combat in BOTW is actually fun.

>i like it
bought the legendary edition for 10$ in 2014 got the newer edition for free.
>CYA FULLPRICEFAGS

EACH YEAR HE CALLS TO ME
TO BUY SKYRIM

Literally one of the best games ever made and I'm not even Todd

sauce me up famalam

The fact that there are people who think that Skyrim is better than Witcher 3 is what made me realize that I don't get the appeal of Skyrim at all. I legitimately think that it's mediocre.

I don't think he said it was better than Witcher 3. Skyrim is fun, it's just flawed and could have been a lot better than it is.

I wasn't referring to him. This is an epiphany that hit me a long time ago.

>Solstheim is chock fucking full of valuable treasure, including a sidequest where you break into the stash of a notorious pirate captain, piles of gold and jewels
>it will take you 3 months in game to sell it all to the one fucking merchant on the island
>settlement's economy is destroyed even though I've sold 100,000 septims worth of valuable gem stones and enchanted weapons to some guy with a fruit stand by the tavern

Skyrims shit, but the worlds pretty.
It reminds me a lot of BotW with how casuals eat up theses pure shit games with a grin but at least Skyrim tried to have interesting quests.

I like it, I like morrowind too. Oblivion aged so badly, however.

As someone who’s favorite game of all time is Morrowjnd, i enjoyed it. Not nearly as much as Morrowind obviously but it was better than the irredeemable garbage that Oblivion was.

I played it 4 times but Sup Forums told me it's bad so now I hate it

Horrible RPG. Good Bethesda game, as soon as that is considered its own genre, which will be only a matter of time.

Completely sucked me in the first time I played it (it was also my first TES, so there was that).
Blew my mind completely at the time.
Fails utterly on repeat playthroughs, especially when you stop playing as a sword/board warrior or a stealth archer and realize how useless magic is on the highest difficulties.
And also the world completely loses its charm and luster after you play TW3, where everything looks beautiful and shit as opposed to Skyrim's cold and dreary everything.
