I mean I didn't watched BP, but from trailer it seems that it isn't about africa per se, but more it has african aesthetics to it.

Not even what I was thinking of. For the last 4 years the game dev cartel has made a concerted effort to minority-wash every major franchise and most every new high profile game features non-white protagonists. If there is a white male anywhere he's either directly the antagonist or he's a raging bigot/sexist/bad person for you to 'overcome'. Just look at the new CoD for example.
