I have a lot of fun with games that will never be on Nintendo consoles. SoT just isn't fun

A game with no content (Legendary pirate is scam) is shit. Who knew?

It's fun, yes, but not $60 worth of fun.

If it was 20$ it would have been justified with the small amount of actual gameplay content. 60$? At least add more thing in the game, more missions, more mechanics etc,,, Don't forget we are forced on Win 10 Spyware just to play this bare bone game.

should be f2p with cosmetic store

Well yeah, who wants to have fun playing video games? When I sit down to que up a PS4 game, I want to FEEEEEEEEEL!!!!

so fun doing fetch quests over and over again

>buying cuck games
kill yourself microjew shill

you mean soy games?

So here's the thing. I would probably pay $30 for it, and I could most likely convince my bro to join me for the co-op. But only one of us has Win10.
Maybe next time.

Wasn't this the game that was supposed to have Waluigi as the main character or something?

I agree that it isn't worth $60 for most people, and it really should be $20 or at least closer to it. But I think it's worth $60 for more people than realize.

I used the free trial because I was curious about it but thought it looked gay as fuck. I've been playing solo for the past few days. At first I was disappointed by all of the PvE content/progression and my expectations were already pretty low. But once I got the hang of sailing and started encountering more players I realized the progression and quest shit is only supplementary to that, it's not the focus of the game like we expect.

For $60 it really should have more clothes to choose from and better quests. Everything on the water is just way better than I expected.

>Don't be a racist prick
>"ARGH! Fucking jew illuminati shill dippin dots!"
You must be 18 to view or post on this website.

Nah it should just have better quests and customization options.

>be pirate
>cant say "you're a whoreson" arghhh
fuck off you son of a whore ARGHHHH

w10 is the best OS ever

Yeah I think disenfranchising solo players was a mistake. Despite its marketing it seems like kindof a niche game, so most people who would potentially like it won't be able to convince their friends to try it out, much less stick around for more than a few days.

idk though I've been playing solo and I'm not having as much trouble as others.

It's not like there aren't internet communities where people are overly friendly to each other, but restricting banter and swear words because it might hurt people's feelings is foolish and it will kill any chance the community might have to thrive. Rough banter is possible because the bonds tying the community together are strong. By banning banter, the devs really just confirm that the community is extremely weak and people who can banter will start intentionally or unintentionally driving off those who can't - which in their eyes, isn't good for profits.

pirates weren't know for their banter and they would be 100% gentlemen around women
pffffffffffffffffffahhahahahhahaha

The water physics looked great. Multiple positions to man. Exploring islands.. wow.

But there's just one ship. All the islands are the same. There's nothing to find, finding treasure is the grind not a reward. What do you buy with the money? TF weapons, but the game is already ridiculously easy.

What the fuck man? This is like the concept of a game, with the boat mechanics ready, but lacking the actual game.

I would gladly have payed out the nose for this if it had single player and actual content. I've been waiting for a good non-RTS syle pirate game since Black Flag.

For 5 bucks a month this game is really fun. I guess not many people don't have friends to play with...

Yar, me hearties! We've captured this noblewoman and put her up for ransom! Tie her up around the mast so we can have something for the deck that's easy on the eyes! Oh, but remember to be a gentleman and treat her nice, me mateys!

It makes this look competent.

dont forget
>microsoft backing
>4 years in the making
lmao any person who says its good is a shill. Most likely a pajeet.

This

They should have given solo players more power somehow, but idk about a proper single player mode. The multiplayer element and the water are the only two things that set this game apart.

>You just think you are having fun
WUT

have you ever considered that they might not actually be shills, but just people with shit taste, or very forgiving people who are willing to overlook its flaws if it has stuff they really like?
But no, no, of course not, anyone who has a different opinion is actually being paid to influence me in order to hock a product.

I'm genuinely baffled. It's full price and it makes mobile games look content rich. Win10 only? Who the fuck approved this?

How long until Rare is officially disbanded?

It is actually a thing. See Star Wars Battlefront 2, EVERYBODY knew that game was bad going in, but tons of people still bought and played it just because their friends had it. The game didn't end up even coming close to making its money back, but it still sold over 9 million copies. 9 million people who delude themselves into pretending to have fun just because they want to have what their friends have.

I'm really enjoying SoT so far. I don't play it for extended periods at a time like I would a single player game, because you're not meant to. It's a multiplayer game with a multiplayer focus, and people in our tiny community seem to miss that aspect. The faction quests are simple, especially the treasure chest ones, so it's not too big a loss when another group steals your shit. Chasing them down to try and get it back, engaging in ship to ship combat or trying to infiltrate their ship with a tnt barrel, it's a blast. No pun intended.

There are autists on Sup Forums that think they're the gatekeepers for what video games are supposed to be. If they don't enjoy something, then no one else is supposed to enjoy it either. They think they're relevant, but really no one gives a shit about them or Sup Forums as a whole.

I thought the same shit before I tried it. It's a flat out different type of game than what you're thinking. The chests and rewards are just a means to pull you out to the water, which is where the real game is.

Think of it like it's a literal role playing game because that's what it does best. It gives you a perfect vessel to go into and pretend to be a pirate. It sounds fucking cheesy and I blow comments like that off every time I see them but after trying the game and liking it that's the only way I know to describe why. The lack of strength progression does make the game feel overly shallow at times, but it also makes every player encounter (the core of the game) more engaging because you're not just relying on shit you unlocked to win. Also you end up playing (or not) because you want to be a pirate, not because you're on that grind to earn the upgraded cannon.

shill. kill yourself.

But what is the point of attacking players? Steal their treasure? And what do you do with that treasure? Nothing valuable. So it amounts to griefing. Your two options for this game are to either grind out cosmetics or grief other players trying to do the same.

Everything you do in the game is working towards becoming a pirate legend. Stealing a load of chests from another ship means you just did hours of work towards that goal in a matter of minutes.

I'm holding hope for skull and bones since its just black flags ships so Idfk anymore I doubt it'll have the multi position stuff but fuck it I'm just disappointed

And then what? What do you do once you hit that?

And the point of becoming a pirate legend...? You get a nice little hideout with some ghost NPCs who probably give you the same quests the others do. Pirate Legend feels like a carrot on a stick, a lot of people are gonna be really disappointed when they get there

It unlocks a new area with harder challenges. If you beat those, you get that area as your spawn and you get a special ship to use that spawns there.

Attached: 2314.png (487x561, 299K)

>and then what
See I don't get this, you can apply this to every game

We all should of seen this coming when we realized it wasn't gonna be good when there was TWO FUCKING SHIPS

what's the new ship?

the box art looks cool at least

I'm just saying it doesn't do anything that you haven't been doing already, is it just more fetch quests? Are there any new enemies besides just skeletons? Cause it doesn't seem like it

Literally because it's fun to. I mean your incentive is to unlock more clothes and get the "pirate legend" shit (which could be nothing but nobody has gotten it yet, so we don't know). But they aren't so valuable of a reward that you feel incentivized against just dicking around and doing what you want, which I believe is what the devs intended.
>So it amounts to griefing
"Griefers" are an intended part of the game. You can be a fucking cunt and blow up a ship for no reason, you can white knight for the shitty solo sloops getting railed be galleons. You can be a stalker who sneaks into crews' holds and whispers demonic incantations. That's the point.

That new ship wont be any different than the galleon, that would go against their design philosophy of "we dont want new players to be disadvantaged". It's probably just a nice skin that looks like the Ship of the Damned or something.

As for hard challenges, what do you mean? Harder skeletons to kill? Pigs that run away from your faster and are harder to catch? Come on, get real.

Been playing the game a lot these last 2 days. And it's a pretty fun game honestly. Only thing I'm not liking is there's no real sense of progression. It's all cosmetics. Which maybe is the point of the game it's just a multiplayer online battle game at hard. Also enemy varieties are hurting the game at the moment in my opinion as well.

The game really does nail player interactions and cooperation. Been running into a lot of other players since last night.

Griefing is only fun for so long, dude. This is coming from someone who loves griefing people. Without real content, this game WILL die within a month.

Now that dust has settled can we all agree that Sea of Flops is the Battleborn of 2018?

This game is fucking trash and ofcourse only ms shills would defend this considering this is supposed to be their heavy hitter for the whole year.

Its literally got the same metacritic score as no mans sky too. Lmao

Attached: 1521690707956.png (748x964, 852K)

If that is truly their design choice about the ships then that is fucking retarded why shouldn't someone with 200 hours have a better ship them 4 regards who just bought it that day

afaik no one has unlocked it yet. Rare said they didn't expect anyone to unlock it for at least 2 weeks.

That is indeed their design philosophy. That's why you can't upgrade or modify your ship at all outside of cosmetics. Not even side-grades. You spawn in a sloop or a galleon and that's it.

I mean, even past level 5, bounty missions get harder and treasure hunts get much longer. I can't imagine what they're like at level 33.

Harder how? More skeletons with more HP?

>it's fun with friends
has there ever been a sentence more linked to something being bad?

Attached: 1494257496830.jpg (483x512, 85K)

Can someone explain the incentive to paying 60 dollars for this now as apposed to just waiting a year till its in the bargain bin?

Or you could do something other than just grief. You're not on a karma system where there's a "do good" and "do bad" option.

But I won't say anything about the game's longevity. I don't think that many people will be playing leading up to the first expansion, but I also don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

That's so fucking dumb, I remember fucking POTCO and seeing people in war frigates and dreaming of owning one some day and I fucking did so why steal that from us

Being locked in a room with literally nothing to do would still be fun if you also had 3 of your close friends with you. It's literally not an argument.

Jesus Christ OP, feel a little more offended.

I'm a Nitendo player and I'd actually be quite curious to play Sea of Theives, despite what all the shitters looking for the next TORtanic say.

Only hitch for me is that I usually don't play online games. Like, at all. So I'd have to go way out of my comfort zone.

Yes and they'll pretend that is a good "endgame challenge"

I play solo and have more fun than I would if my friends played.

Attached: 1497324951326.jpg (633x738, 86K)

more waves, do more damage. The bosses have higher hp, but the fodder seem to be the same. Have you never played a skeleton fort?

They will need to start bumping thouse updates and stuff so people dont loose interest.

New weapons, new kinds of enemies, maybe even potions and even if possible a new faction to make different kind of quest.

If updates are not big enough, people will just leave really fast

So, yes. More skeletons with more HP that do more damage. That isn't fucking fun, dude. Forts are literally kiting enemies around and blasting them while you refill your ammo at the magical reload boxes.

>We are forced on Win 10 Spyware just to play this game

I still don't understand how PC players constantly claim superiority to consoles and yet I never go a single thread without seeing PC drones endlessly whining about everything from hacks, to bad ports (no devs care about you), to the operating system you're "forced" to play on. You retards are boasting about having a Lamborghini without an engine, tranny, or brakes. Sure it has potential to be better than the rest, but it isn't and it never will be. Consoles win ONCE AGAIN. You can't make this shit up.

Attached: 1466537738412.png (286x217, 110K)

Yeah, you can do PvE. Which sucks after 3 hours because there are only 4 mission types

Isn't that essentially what being a pirate is? Greifing other people for your own enjoyment/benefit?

and you are forced to pay for basic online functions
LMAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

BUT THERE IS NO BENEFIT. You don't get anything meaningful, that booty you plundered can buy you a nice peg leg or a golden dildo. It's fun for like 6 hours but then it just gets stale as fuck because there are only 2 ships and ZERO modifications. It's so fucking shallow. 60 dollars

Most quest islands don't have reload boxes, especially not near the mission area, so you can't just shoot everything. And skeletons start to use guns so you can't just kite them.

What games do PC players even used their "free basic online functinalities" for playing nowadays?

What do you want then? What would make the encounters harder in a way that you deem fun? Because doing more damage in higher numbers is basically the way all wave shooters work.

All these Blackwake fags still absolutely SEETHING

I agree! Postal 2 is my favorite Nintendo game.

PvE has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. This game is fun but the PvE has nothing to do with it.

>It's some how a nintendo thing because it's halfassed

Or maybe making the game an Early Access title wasn't such a smart Idea. It's Ark on a Boat with even less interactivity.

> pays money for playing games online
> pc gamer complains about something
> console player is superior whilest playing games at 480p with capped 30 fps

with your death the average world iq will increase by at least 10.

>. You retards are boasting about having a Lamborghini without an engine, tranny, or brakes.

It's more like forced to upgrade your Lambo to an operating system that monitors where you go and can shut down your car remotely.

Oh wait that's actually real.

i ve always thougt he was right
nintendo usually avoids talking about the technical stuff and just say: b-but our games are fun!
when in reality fun is pretty subjective, you cant sell a product saying that is just fun

Nigger, you are lying to yourself. I'm not even going to bother with you anymore. I wont even get into how death has literally no consequence and you can just keep spawning back into the raid until its done. I've watched HOURS of people play these raids, it's literally all the same shit.

How about more than 1 enemy type? How about more than 4 weapons for enemies AND players? How about even a modicum of depth to the gameplay at all? Jesus christ.

>being this poor

a way out. a way out your moms fat ass lmao.

You can either attack people for no reason or reward (griefing) or you can do PvE. What else is there to do? Roleplay? You can do that in any game.

Counter-Point: What games are available on consoles that's worth paying a monthly subscription for?

Oh, I see. You don't actually want to talk about the game, you've obviously never even played it, you just want to shit on it. Okay.

But isn't the benefit putting other players down? Didn't real pirates target specific factions in order to keep a power struggle between them so more conflict could arise and more gold could be stolen?

>some game I've never even heard about

Sounds about right.

>Game is designed for multiplayer
>REEEEEE

And in return we get a complete, optimized, hack free experience. Anyways soon you'll be paying twice the amount that we do lmao.

The newest early access survival scam

Because he IS right.
>game is fun
Is not an argument. Eating shit is fun for people. We see Nintendo drones doing this every day.

are there pictures of her naked?
