Console exclusives have 0% chance of moving the genre forward. Can't think of a console exclusive not over a decade old that has ever moved the genre forward at all.
All the innovations and pushing of envelopes come from games on the PC, nowadays mostly in the form of indie games because triple As try to cater to consoles as multiplats.

Fucking this. I think a lot of people built it up in their head that all the crowdfunded RPGs would be 10/10 GOTY so naturally, when that didn't pan out, they got labeled as shit by butthurt children. I think one new CRPG that outright disappointed me was Numenera.
