Should I sell my model PS4 (bottom) for the older model PS4 (top)?
Should I sell my model PS4 (bottom) for the older model PS4 (top)?
Anyone that owns a PS4 right now, any model, should hold onto it for the release of the PS5.
The PS5 will not really be a new console, rather more of a "pro" pro, that will share the PS4 library.
Once that's out, turn your PS4 in, still play your old library and skip the pro.
Just screenshot this post in case you're doubting me, once the PS5 is out and everything i just said happens i'll be right, and smug as fuck.
no
Sony doesn't do back compat any more. They fired Ken for it.
Your post is invalid.
no one cares
I predict they it will be backward with PS4 games too, but also enhance all their performance in a bigger way.
Well are you bottom or a power top, user?
Back compat for the PS2 and PS3 is a very, very different thing than with the PS4, my dear brainlet.
Interally PS2 and PS3 are an absolute hellish clusterfuck, a PS4 is just a normal PC.
>He's too young to know
Oh my sweet summer child.
>Asking us to screencap something this obvious
I bet your parent told you all your fingerpainting drawings were amazing too
My parents told me how to propely respond to the right post i was trying to have a conversation with, tho.
Slapping ps2 hw into fat ps3 is completely different compared to the current situation, brainlet. It's closer to what NGC/wii were.
Don't even bother, he literally doesn't understand hardware.
He's just gonna respond with some shitty meme because he's got nothing to say.
Why would you? The top model is louder
t. launch ps4 owner
Why would you want to do this? There's barely any difference between them. The one on top has the loudest fan, but even the one on the bottom gets loud at times too. You might be better off getting a slim PS4.
Actually, you'll find the original PS3 design didn't just 'slap in PS2 hardware' it used it extensively, just like the PS2 heavily utilized the PS1 hardware inside it.
The cost of the original PS3 dual Cell+PS2 design cost Ken Kutagari his job.
Moreover, Sony could have a working PS3 emulator on PS4 right now, but don't - because they don't do back compat - they make a shitty HD remaster and sell for full price again.
PS4 isn't backwards compatible with PS3, because it's literally unable to do so. PS4 CPU in raw power isn't even as strong as PS3 CPU.
Microsoft proved that backwards compatibility is a big deal, with Black Ops 1 (over 7 years old game) and Black Ops 2 (5 years old game) having more than 100k players online at any time since they got BC on Xbone. Black Ops 2 even managed to get to top 10 sold games in Britain after these many years.
PS4 doesn't have backward compatibility only because Sony don't want it, period.
Microsoft have a 360 emulator for Xbone so your argument is invalid.
>only because Sony don't want it, period.
Maybe. but that's the fact they're literally unable to do so.
We tried to explain to you the actual logistical reasons, you don't want to listen.
>sony making ps4 library playable in ps5
>not making ps4 "remasters" for ps5 for those easy shekels
Pick one and only one.
You didn't get any dubs, and for such a claim you at least need quads.
Everything you said is a lie
The top one looks like a slim Xbone. E3 2013 was a magical time.
>PS4 doesn't have backward compatibility only because Sony don't want it, period.
Wrong, PS4 and Xbox One have too weak of a CPU to emulate the PS3. The 360 can be emulated because it's CPU is much simpler and more conventional. They are able to assign 1 Jaguar core to emulate each of the 360's 6 CPU threads. The SPEs on the Cell are too powerful to feasibly do that on Jaguar, hence no software BC.
Next-gen with Ryzen CPUs PS3 software backwards compatibility will be much more feasible.
They already went phone way with PS4 Pro, I can't see them making an new piece of hardware so that it can be obsolete in 3 years. My bet is that at least PS4 Pro will be forward compatible with PS5 for first 2 years or so.
You're simply not listening to reason at - you seem to be implying that Sony are incapable of writing an emulator where Microsoft are...
Read this graph carefully and draw conclusions yourself.
>PS3 CPU beats PS4 CPU
POWA OF THE CELL BAYBEE
It was good CPU for servers, horrible for vidya,
When you're disappointed that the PS5 doesn't have any back compat again, please post so I can laugh at you.
They will have no excuse not to include it next time. People will make that clear themselves, because Microsoft is sure to bring BC on launch of their next new console.
That's the problem, Microsoft didn't just "write an emulator", they have a ton of infrastructure within their platforms (hypervisors, executable recompilation, etc...) that sony just hasn't shown any interest in.
Not to mention the weird architecture they used for the ps3
no, i think the bottom one is slightly quieter
Look, if you really want to know, and i'm probably the only person on Sup Forums autistic enough to know this, the main difference with the newer model is that it's wi-fi is slightly better so the connection quality is a bit more solid and the range is slightly improved too.
Also it overheats less.
That's about it.
has anyone stacked all the ps4 models on top of each other
i would like to see that
