Any chance of this and the other games being on PC or should I just get a PS4? Is a Pro worth getting over a regular PS4?

Get a Pro. Better fps and it won’t sound like a jet engine taking off any time.

Also, playing 0 right now. It’s pretty good.

If you were only playing 0 and Kiwami I'd say a regular PS4 is fine but I'm playing through 6 right now and performance is not ideal on the launch model.

I'll probably end up with a Pro at some point. I'd like to play through these games and it seems like a good way to do it. Never played them before. Will just watch a youtube playthrough for whatever isn't on PS4 before I move on to 6 I think.

It isn't completely impossible, but I think a PS4 is worth it. I play almost everything on PC, but I don't regret buying a PS4 a couple years ago.

Don’t forget Kiwami 2 comes out in the summer so there’s always that too. 0 plays really well in the launch PS4 but I’d listen to the above user about 6 not being ideal on it. Even now I’m sort of weighing the Pro bc I want to play bloodborne and not have it chug with every dash.

>and it won’t sound like a jet engine taking off any time.
My Slim is pretty quiet.

>I'll probably end up with a Pro at some point
I hate to admit it but I feel like it is probably worth it for Y6.

I'm just a bit worried about a Slim Pro or something being announced soon after I get mine or a price cut. Will be getting it in about a month so we'll see.

>ven now I’m sort of weighing the Pro bc I want to play bloodborne and not have it chug with every dash.
The problem with Bloodborne isn't the framerate, it's framepacing issues, which are present even on Pro in Boost mode.

OP, consider this too. I have the launch PS4 and it’s loud. If the Slim is quiet it might be worth springing for if you want to save some money.

Pro aint worth it. My launch ps4 is fine, no cum guzzling sound or anything, barring some rare screen tearing in y0 but hey if you think its worth that premium go for it.

Probably won't happen until 2019 at the earliest since they're gonna want to wait for a die shrink. I don't think the move from 16nm to 12nm will be big enough to do a slim pro.

Don't even think about a Pro giving you performance like a PC. Regardless, if you're going to get a PS4 anyway, I don't think the new models are that differently priced. Pro is $399, Slim is what, $349?

>Pro is $399, Slim is what, $349?
Slim is $299 MSRP but it's actually cheaper than that usually or comes bundled with games unlike the Pro.

Personally I bought 1TB Slim for less than €250 last year.

That is some difference then, but I've also seen the Pro for cheaper than $399 before.

Pro runs hot as fuck comparatively though.

Don't bet on it.
And unless you have a 4k tv, then you might as well get a slim.

Only if you touch the top-right of it (Assuming it's horizontal with the disk tray facing you). It's dead silent though even on games like HZD though I hear some Pros got saddled with bad QC or something causing them to sound loud. At this point in time it's probably better to get a Pro due to more and more games having benefits for it and Boost mode is always a nice thing to have even if its contributions aren't exactly anything more than minor.

>And unless you have a 4k tv, then you might as well get a slim.
But the 4k mode is the worst part of a Pro since that mode usually runs far worse framerate-wise. The best part of it is Boost mode and supersampling for 1080p now. For example, in Yakuza 0 and Kiwami there is no screen tearing at all with Boost mode on, and in something like The Evil Within it stays either close to or at 30. Some games like Nioh, Horizon, Tomb Raider, inFamous, and Final Fantasy XV give you options like 30 FPS locked but better graphics, unlocked framerate, performance where it locks it to 60 but doesn't have the graphical enhancements, etc.

I think it's only a matter of time given that we've also gotten Binary Domain, Vanquish, Bayo, etc.

It's very hot behind it too, which matters a lot considering the shape of the usb ports. I had a stick that worked just fine on ps3 and phat ps4, but it doesn't fit on the front ports o the pro. So I had to use the back port. That thing was stupidly hot after being in there for 20 mins. Both the tendency of usb sticks to heat up in use and being right next to the fan was a bad time.

I guess you can technically still supersample on a 4k tv as long as you change the output settings to 1080p?

no one plays games on PC in Japan so no.

Ah, that's a very valid point. I use a USB extender to access the front port when I need to use a thumb drive to transfer screenshots so I don't have to use the back ones ever and I can see how that would be a problem. Seems like it would only be a big problem for thumb drives though since externals have the cable usually.

The noise kinda depends on the game.
With some games my pro is pretty much entirely silent but with more intensive ones like uncharted 4 it can get semi-noisy at times although that usually passes. But I'm also wearing headphones so that reduces it even more for me.

i managed to get my hands on a barely used ps4 pro for 300€ and the noise difference between that on and my old launch ps4 is night and day though i heard that jetengine might still happen if you get a faulty model.

Pro is worth it imo

I know this is more of a playstation console discussion thread than a yakuza thread but I feel the need to say this
>download yakuza dead souls files
>look in the sound folder
>fucking 462 tracks that are just background music at shops ect
>literally more background music than anything else in the file (which includes ambient sounds and the stems for every karaoke song)

The ones I've heard that cause the 360 jet engine sound to be made are Ratchet and Clank after the Pro patch, Horizon Zero Dawn, Gravity Rush 2, Final Fantasy XV, and Rise of the Tomb Raider. I've played everything but Tomb Raider on this one without any noticeable change in sound the whole way through with their Pro features so I'm not sure if I just lucked out or something. Still haven't played U4 or the Chloe/other lady one yet so maybe it'll be different with that. I also heard The Last of Us Remastered did it to some people when the Pro patch came out, but I only played it after they released the revamped patch to fix up issues.

This is honestly the biggest case of "Works on my machine" I've ever had.

Based

It's also a matter of which games get ported, though. I doubt they'd bust out 7 games on PC all at once.

Kiwami and Kiwami 2, possibly also 0.

It's also on PS3, so if you don't want to buy a PS4 then wait until it becomes playable on RPCS3 and hope someone releases a translation patch

Just play the rest of the series. They're all the same game anyway.

abysmal game

>Any chance of this and the other games being on PC
Yes. Sega wants all their games on PC. Persona 5 will get ported as well, probably after the Dancing games are out.

There is no chance at all for Yakuza though. Zero, zilch, nada, goose egg. Sega of America was too cheap to license the original soundtrack for the localization of every Yakuza game since 2 and the replacement music is owned by Sony.

Atlus stuff are in the "never ever" realm user, and this is coming from a "mustard"
The best option now is pirating and emulating the fuck out of their stuff, they deserve it for being jewish gooks

6 also shills Sony stuff a lot, every phone in the game is an Xperia
