>On January 30, 2019, we plan to close the Wii Shop Channel, which has been available on Wii systems since December 2006. We sincerely thank our loyal customers for their support.
>You can still add Wii Points until March 26, 2018, and purchase content on the Wii Shop Channel until January 30, 2019. In the future, we will be closing all services related to the Wii Shop Channel, including redownloading purchased WiiWare, Virtual Console titles, and Wii Channel, as well as Wii System Transfer Tool, which transfers data from Wii to the Wii U system.
>If you have Wii Points to spend, content you want to re-download, or content you’d like to transfer from a Wii system to a Wii U system, we recommend you do so while the services are still available.
If you're thinking of buying anything on the Wii Shop Channel, Monday is the deadline to add points to your account.
Let's have a thread to recommend final purchases for each other, including any WiiWare and Virtual Console gems.
>thinking about adding points >thinking I probably won't play anything I buy >thinking if I actually wanted to play the games I would have bought them already or just home brewed
I have most of the good stuff already.
Ryan Richardson
What are the best 3 games on neo geo and master system Sup Forums?
This video shows about 15 seconds of every WiiWare game, regardless of region and current availability. I would suggest ripping it and watching it at 4x speed to see if anything interesting jumps out at you. 95% of the games are likely not to interest you at all, but you might catch one or two that you missed before.
Noah Williams
I think I'll miss the catchy music more than anything else.
Oliver Barnes
>neo geo Ironclad and the two Shock Troopers games are good and sometimes overlooked.
>master system Maybe the Wonder Boy series?
A lot of Wii Virtual Console games can be found cheaper or more easily playable on other systems or PC, so I would check before buying.

Recommended WiiWare:
Alien Crush Returns Blast Master Overdrive Castlevania/Contra/Gradius ReBirth Trilogy Chronos Twins DX Dr. Mario Online Rx Excitebike: World Rally FAST Racing League Fluidity Tetris Party
Questionable WiiWare:
Bomberman Blast (online gone, plenty of other Bomberman games to play, not much value unless you have local friends)
Space Invaders Get Even (fun concept, 500 points buys first level, 1500 points of in-game purchases to buy the other six levels)
Star Soldier R (short time-attack game, online leaderboards long since shut down)
Remember that all official online play modes and leaderboards for all WiiWare games have been gone since 2014.
Matthew Cooper
I wish I had the money to buy anything (and multiple SD cards to store them)
But it's a shallow experience. Systems without trophies/achievements are not worht it to me anymore.
It was fascinating between 2008-2012 tho
Samuel Ward
No it wasn't. I didn't need achievements to learn to explore a.game
Jonathan Reyes
just emulate wii and pirate the games. or just pirate the games
Aaron Mitchell
>Systems without trophies/achievements are not worht it to me anymore. Why? Literally no one cares about steam achievements or trophies and gamerscore. Get out of 2009 m8
Kevin Martin
>Neo Geo Samurai Showdown II Puzzle Bobble Windjammers >Master System Phantasy Star Wonder Boy 3 Ultima IV, I guess. MS had a lot of good arcade ports for the time, but now there's really no point to playing them when you have MAME available.
Owen Russell
I will definitely install everything on a spare Wii after the shutdown
Justin Ortiz
it was still alive?
Xavier Howard
I always liked the music. It's too bad adding/using points and the shop interface itself were so cumbersome.
Wii U feels depressingly vacant since the Miiverse shutdown. I don't have a Switch yet, but I hear that shop is just sterile and silent.
Wyatt Gutierrez
The Switch eShop is infinitely better than previous iterations because it loads quickly, just like the rest of the OS.
Michael Ward
i thought they closed it ages ago
Brandon Kelly
that's because you faggots don't play anything at all
Cooper Myers
>owning a wii
Jose Cox
>not owning a wii poorfag or just retarded
Ayden Robinson
I have 6 pages full of Wii VC & WiiWare.
It's going to eventually die with my Wii U.
noooooooooooo
Camden Morris
>Not owning a Wii when they are in the trash like ps2 because there are so many of them
Brayden Smith
Tbf it's the best emulation machine that isn't a PC. As long as you don't get stuck with a shit one like the Mini.
Oliver Stewart
I have like 800 wad files for all VC and wiiware games but i have no idea how to play them off my external harddrive. I have usbloadergx but i just can't get it to work.
Anyone have some very very complete full step by step guides? Whenever i read anything it just brings up 20 different things that already should have been done
Jaxon Myers
I'm thinking of picking up Rage of the Gladiator and Zombie Panic in Wonderland to round out my collection. Anyone have experience with either of them?
Joseph Thomas
I'm still amazed the Dolphin Emulator devs managed to buy shit off the Wii Shop Channel from within Dolphin, the utter madmen.
Michael Gutierrez
Technically the Wii U is a better emulation machine due to its slightly better N64 emulation and being able to play DS games with the gamepad, but considering it's just a beefed up Wii that's kind of obvious.
Samuel Walker
Your Wii U's storage could easily outlive you
Grayson Perez
Zombie panic is really meh as a cabal shooter. Better play the Wilds guns.
Cooper Morris
Oh shit, you can emulate DS games on Wii U? I never followed the hacking for any of that time period.
They've been backed up for years. You can hack a Wii in less than an hour, and load up a shit ton of games on a 50 dollar external drive. And you'd have pretty much all the worth while Wii games.
Henry Morales
I'd be surprised if there are any wiiware games that don't have a wad available on the internet somewhere already
Levi Foster
aren't old guides not valid since whatever they use is older versions of whatever is out now and thus leave me filling in the blanks on something fairly complicated? This is seriously like the 28th guide i've found or was linked.
thats not a guide at all. its a shitty place to download wads which, I already have all wads foreign and domestic. All i need to do is find how to play them off my external. The brazilian guide is legit 4 lines that just says get a wad manager and install. so, we'll see how that goes. I already installed one through usbloadergx but it just quits out to hbc. we shall see if I can get a definitive "Wad Manager" to use
Carter Scott
I told a friend from school to buy this, but I didn't have a way to contact him so we never played it.
Tyler Gutierrez
Which reminds me I updated mine and haven't finished the softmodding because I forgot what to do with after installing HBC....
Jeremiah Jackson
Can you upload all the Jap only Wiiware games?
Ryder Long
google says: inside the USB LOADER GX go to settings and in loader settings the option "return to", you select Usb Loader
seems to be what you're looking for
Logan Perry
After installing the HBC, you back up your nand. Then you get priiloading, so you don't have a chance of bricking your Wii anymore. And then install the Wii game loaders, and all the games you want.
Zachary Sullivan
>Priiloader That was the boot2, right? I meant with the stub ios after the update. Always back up the nand.
William Scott
Not sure. Priiloader loads before everything. So, if a Wii brick happens, you can still load up Priiloader. Priiloader also allows you to block updates, make your console region free, auto press A at health and safety, etc.
Jeremiah Harris
When you install HBC you can install something like that as boot 2, which if memory serves me right, happens before the main menu and from the console instead from HBC from a sd card.
Updates are not an issue anymore as well for the region lock stuff.
Nathaniel Davis
Is that final fantasy king game any good?
Leo King
>since December 2006 End of an era
Caleb Perry
youtube.com/watch?v=8FqkS_A5cm8 I will never not be made at Ausfailia for causing this game to be censored in all regions since it was originally going to have nudity. (Notice how all the girls are positioned in a way so you don't get a vag shot.)
Adam Turner
holy fuck idk how shitty google is but i searched so many times and never got to this page! glad i'm not the only one confused about this. I got up to step 4 but decided to fuck off with it since i already have usbloadergx. I don't want to do step 5 since i'm only playing VC/WW wads but it says theres a bug and to fix it you have to change something in step 5. Looks like the instructions get all fuckity towards the end as usual. I'm going to try and stick with it though. Going to the store for some energy fuel soda then i'll be back and try to crack this.
Aiden Sullivan
So you won't be able to redownload your purchases after that date? What a bunch of fucks.
Nolan Roberts
I bought Monster World IV, and the rest of the ReBirth series.
Hudson King
Is Final Fantasy IV the After Years worth getting on Wii if I don't have any other versions?
If you LOVE FFIV, it's worth getting. But the episodic formula really fucks you up, especially since everything was released. Since when the game came out, they released episodes every few weeks, but to tide you over, you could grind in post episode dungeons to get better gear.
Grayson Wilson
You have to remember After Years was initially a Japanese only cell phone game so yeah.
And I don't mean smart phone.
Robert Hughes
Holy shit can I join the wiishop from the WiiU? I want to buy Castlevania ReBrirth.
Owen Williams
The date for redownloads being disabled will be some time after the January 2019 shop shutdown. They said they would announce it later. It could be anywhere from a few months to a few years after that date. Nobody knows yet.
Jace Perez
The ReBirth games are great. Go for it.
Jason Ramirez
But can I enter the wiishop and play wiiware games on my WiiU.
Henry Wright
why don't you turn it on and see for yourself faggot
Lincoln Morgan
holy shit all this shovelware
Jason Murphy
Please answer user. I don't have my WiiU right now.
Josiah Butler
Yes, just enter Wii mode, or hold B as you turn on your Wii U to start in Wii mode (I think). There's enough internal memory in Wii mode to store a handful of games. You'll need an SD card if you buy a bunch of them.
Brandon Myers
are you aware monday is the last day to add credit to your console
