Why is it so hard to make a black character?

It seem's like as we go farther and farther that we start to see more black characters. The problem I have with that is, they aren't always good characters. Why is so hard to write a good character who happens to be black?

It's like when they want to try having good characters who are gay, or good characters who are women. They are people who know nothing about those kind of characters but try to write them anyway because they have to.

Because most people make "is black" the center spoke around which the rest of the characters traits and personality revolve.

I'd hardly even call Sheva a character, she was just sorta there adding nothing to the plot

What he said and they don't try to make a character often the whole characters whole deal is that they are black gay or some other shit they dont feel natural, sheva and josh are great though

Because most games use them as a hook to grab an audience while other use them as actual characters
look at barret,Lee or alyx Vs. Marcus from watchdogs 2 or Sam B or even Coal train

You’d need video games to have good characters in the first place before you start considering shit like race, sexuality etc.

I've got nothing against her. I love sheva, i wish she was more of a character that was used or shown more after 5.

Because its no longer "this character is x character trait, and happens to have black skin" because identity politics says that everything must carry the social context of the moment. Timelessness has been totally removed and its why none of these modern games get remebered.

>i wish she was more of a character that was used or shown more after 5.
Capcom doesnt even know what they are doing with this franchise anymore dont expect to see any of the non main charathers from re6 every again and probably nobody from 7

>probably nobody from 7
I think theres a line in the chris dlc that basically states jokes at the fact that this is an isolated thing and mold likely will never show up again

Ironically the overly political types who implement them in media for equality's sake only think of them as stereotypes

It doesn't matter because no one and no game needs or should have a niggresses in it. So fuck off and take your shit to where you belong. inb4 pol

Devs always think they need to act black out of fear of whitewashing.

I don't know what other type of response you are expecting for making such a stupid fucking statement

I don't really care, I just want hot brown girls with amazing asses.

Niggers are subhuman animals and need to go back to Africa.

Then what's wrong with white washing? Isn't it just as bad to hold a character to a certain standard because of their race?

Alright dude, i guess you better find a different hobby, because video games are typically made by left leaning individuals

She was an excuse for Chris shooting black people. Even though it happened in self defense throughout the entire game.
Even Capcom hates her. You can't deny this when they're not bringing back this character in almost a decade, in a series that is trying to get mileage out of the NAME Chris Redfield in a soft reboot of the series for its 20th anniversary.

>Sheva is muh waifu and will never show up again.

only good black character I can think of that isn't a stereotype is Garcian from Killer 7

She was hot, she is even hotter in that tribal costume, and she has a cute accent.

have you just started playing video games?

I think the issue is that black characters are being used to replace white characters, and just seem like they were added in for some diversity.
If Sheva starred in her own RE spin off and not as a replacement Jill, maybe Capcom and RE fans would have liked her more.
Games like Telltale's TWD that starred Lee and didn't make a big deal that he was "urban" did very well. I think Remember Me tried to promote that it had a black female protag but ended up doing bad

It isn't. There are plenty of good black characters in games.

>Why is so hard to write a good character who happens to be black
sjws means that your race/sexpreference/identifyinasfurry defines your character
MLK is rolling in his grave

Because western devs are racist but they claim they're not.

That's the problem, Halo 5 tried to replace the Master Chief with a black guy and got a lot of backlash to the point of Master Chief now becoming the main character of all FPS Halo games going forward. They even name a Master Chief story "A Master Chief Story" to let everyone know it's a Master Chief story.
