So, basically a PC?

You mean, like a PC?

MOOOOOM, BILLY PUT MY CORE UP HIS ASS

MOOOOOM, TELL PAULINE TO STOP POOING ON MY NEW CORE

>No more paid digital distribution
There, I just fixed gaming forever. You're welcome

It wouldn't work. Your idea of keeping the motherboard constant throughout generations would limit the architecture and hardware of the later cores. The design would be artificially holding gaming technology back with the older components.

Also, vertical stands are stupid.

A fucking PC?

What will happen when the G/C/PPU aren't compatible with the motherboard inside the console? When you no longer have enough RAM for the current gen?

Pack it up boys.

What if USB becomes obsolete? What if the motherboard becomes obsolete? What if your screenshots become obsolete?

>disc drive
>in 2020-2

>paying for digital distribution
>ever

What exactly defines what's a console and what's a pc?

En gros, un ordinateur ?

>install the game
>double click on game to play
>"please insert dvd just to check you own the physical license"
I love physical collections, but fuck you with all that disk swapping.
Also, if the disk gets scratched, I'm fucked, and have to put the cracked exe anyway.
If that zombie apocalypse when steam servers get deleted come, I won't mind, it'll be a time for bigger worries.

wow, people really don't know computer science

it's a console, how is computer science relevant?

Ferme ta gueule

>computer science
apparently, neither do you

Suce ma bite negre

The motherboards would become outdated after a while but it could work for a few generations

>keep forever
So in other words keep the same bandwidth forever so consoles never improve?

I never promoted the example you gave.
A proper physical release for PC should have the entire game on the discs/USB and not require some shit service like Steam. For the games I have I never have to use the discs/USB again after I install it.
A disc doesn't scratch itself.
A disc doesn't break itself.
Funnily enough that is one of the reasons that fat slovenly kike manchild Gabe made Steam, he broke the same game 4 times.

Not that user but I'm clueless to what you are implying.

Apart from the general shittiness of this idea
>motherboard is in one part, CPU is in another
