I have 4 hours in and so far it's pretty good, what does Sup Forums think of alien isolation?
are the DLC worth it?

Pretty good. Nails the first movie's visual design, too.
I made the mistake of playing it on the hardest difficulty though. The xeno killed me so often it stopped being scary.
Unpredictable Alien mod
Enjoy the stroll
I loved it, though I didn’t play much of the DLC. The visuals are the best part even when the hiding style of gameplay gets a bit monotonous. Usually I don’t care much for these kinds of stealth games, but the Alien itself is such a classic design, seeing it wander around or through the grates of a locker is so exciting. The deaths are great too since it always gets up in Amanda’s face to the point where you can see the skull behind the long helmet piece. A few instances I had fun bringing the alien to a room that normally only has humans just so I could get through a bit quicker than crawling through the vents being a pascifist. I really want to get some more screenshots for backgrounds.
Pretty fun but the game lasts too long.
how long exactly?
I'm too scared to play it. The music makes me think i'm going to be raped by an alien at any moment.
Sequel when?
You will, even other people noises seem to trigger the alien in some places.
Never. It didn't sell well enough for Sega.
>I have 4 hours in and so far it's pretty good, what does Sup Forums think of alien isolation?
It's one of the best horror games this gen
>are the DLC worth it?
Absolutely not
>NPCs start shooting because of something I did
>go into hiding
>Alien takes them all out and continues to stalk the grounds dangerously close to me
This game knows how to do tension
Main game is incredible, DLC is garbage. I was so hype for playing Alien as that's pretty much the pitch for the survivor dlc but it turns out it's literally a small slice of main game gameplay with *some* voice acting.
I remember threads about the AI of the alien being very complex so he's always very close to the player.
It just works
It's alright. Starts off very good but it goes on for far too long. About halfway into the game the alien starts feeling very predictable and not scary, and then the flamethrower kills that completely. Only times I was remotely spooked in the second half was when crawling through vents. There's also a lot of wasted potential when it comes to the alien vs other humans aspect. It's fun when you have to deal with both at the same time and encourages interesting choices, but there is too little of it and it's too segmented. If the game had more focus on that, was around 6 hours long and had no flamethrower it would be way better.
yeah, but it felt cheap at times becaue you'd travel to a place that's supposed to be on the other side of the station and it's still following you.
I mean it makes sense once the plot twist that there's multiple aliens on the station, but that's not revealed until later in the gameUnless at the end of the medical bay mission you look into the room containing two bodies with chestburster exit wounds
Luckily the mod fixes that if it becomes too much of an issue for you.
It's boring tedious fucking garbage borderline walking sim tier
just play the nostromo dlc it's basically everything the game has to offer condensed into 30 minutes chunks
>inb4 isolation dickriders show up and tell anyone who criticises the game to "git gud"
I'm on mission 10, how far I'm into the game? I've been avoiding using items and I feel like I spend more time with Joe's than with the alien.
Mad cuz bad.
You are about halfway through.
I don't remember how many missions there were but it's over 10 hours long. The part that feels like the climax of the game is like 3/5 into it.
>that spoiler
welp, that was a cool twist I guess.
what made the DLC garbage?
there really isn't anything to get good at, it's more of a test of patience than anything else
I liked it, though it definitely had some issues
