I played through all three games normally and stopped at the last motorcycle race level in Warped, f that s
Haven't touched it since but I'd still recommend it
Thanks for the beta test!
How are the Warped Coco water levels? did they fuck them up?
Fun
they were shit in the original too, but yeah they have been changed and it's slower turn radius. also the ice physics in crash 2 were changed for the worse. crash 1 is quite good, easily the best of the remakes
Coco/10
Oh yeah, just like the "definitive" WiiU ports.
It was good until it got ported to the switch
thanks user, i was wondering because the platinum relics were a pain in the ass to get in the original. I think i going to skip completing the remake of Warped.
It's all but guaranteed to look worse than the PS4 version, but I'm fucking shocked and excited that there is a Switch port. Crash trilogy was one of maybe 3 games that looked okay for the PS4 and I'm enjoyed the early Crash games as a kid.
It actually looks the same for the most part.
>youtube.com
Pretty good. I quite enjoyed it, and I hope you do too.
noone has played it yet because the real version isnt out yet
It was a crash bandicoot trilogy.
Have a ps4 and was about to buy it but i really want it for switch because I currently have more free time at college than at home.
>inb4 lmao u soy for playing vidya outside.
If you think people shame other people for playing vidya outside you are either too old or you actually dont go outside.
Haven't played it yet.
Saving for a comfy Summer day
Most rewarding platformer I played last year. Time trials were a fun challenge and some levels played with the format in interesting ways, like going down one path over another, or even some backtracking to get the optimal time.
You seem oddly defensive. No body said anything about soy. You should work on your insecurities, user.
Old naughtydog are overrated. Playing through jak and daxter now, it's so fucking bad. Was it really that hard to program a camera back then? Surely it wasn't hardware limitations.
Cameras in general were still a problem in 2002. Many big releases still used shoulder buttons to rotate the camera.
nobody actually gives a fuck what console youre playing on its all memes idiot
It was fine. The load times are fucking excruciating, especially that loading disguised as an intro when Crash jumps into the machine that you have to watch every fucking time you start it. Despite people complaining about the controls, it hasn't really changed much since the original. The main annoyance I found was when you jump over a gap and Crash kind of lands on the vertical edge, so it looks like he lands but then plummets into the hole. I'm pretty sure that was how the original was though.
Crash apparently has a pill shaped collision box instead of a square one like PS1.
It wasn't until mid to late Gen 6 that camera movement vastly improved.
soulless cashgrab that ruins everything about the originals in every way imaginable made by lazy devs who couldn't be assed to make a new game.
Very well done. I think the music got better and the look of the game is fantastic. A few changes happened, though very minor. The platforming, being the most notable one, was slightly different, but it's something you'll hardly notice. I didn't have much of a problem with it. If I got gold/platinum relics on every level, even stormy ascent, then you can get through the game through with relative ease in a normal playthrough. Ice physics are different but not broken by any means. And if you're saying they are because you're trying to get the colored gem for cold hard crash belly flop to stop your entire momentum on the spot at the end. Really, its the best we'll get, and it is a near perfect replica of the originals.
Felt pretty soulless to me, and I don't see myself coming back to it.
>Most of the music lacks the "oomph" of the originals
>Removed certain voice lines for no reason
>A lot of animations somehow manage to be less lively than the originals, same with other small details
>Inexcusably long load times when booting up the game and levels
>Completely fucked hit boxes on both Crash, enemies and crates, making you constantly slip off edges and not make jumps you should've made
>This is made even worse on levels like Road to nowhere which was annoying enough in the original, but now requires pixel perfect jumping to now slip into your doom
I honestly don't recommend it, even if you're having a nostalgic moment like I had when I bought it. Just emulate it or go back to the PSX versions if you wanna play them.
Controls are fucked across all three games. If you grew up playing the games, not just crash 1, but all three - you will notice that the controls for crash just feel off and you still slip off objects when jumping on them. Road to nowhere is actually more difficult than in the original version because of this, because when you jump on the turtles the physics now make crash slip off with every jump. Vicarious Visions admitted this, and also said that they are doing jack shit about it because why should they. It's a cheap unity-tier looking remaster that was made to bank on nostalgia for people who probably never even finished these games, but just want to appear cool and alternative for being interested in 90's media, whilst lining activisions pockets.
Finally, people who aren't blinded by nostalgia and pretty graphics and realize what a farce this cock-sucking horseshit is.
Cool. Waiting to get it on Switch.
I ain't played it but it looks awful.
The actual game is probably at least okay because it's got absolutely no original content but everything about it visually is turd city. All the fur looks like it was just done by the engine or something so it sticks out and looks unnatural, it's like flocking, and all the skin looks like glossy plastic. The unnecessary tweaks and redesigns don't help either, it's like they made all-new concept art for characters that already had perfectly good designs that would translate just as well into modern 3D models.
They were definitive though
Two steps forward, one step back with Crash 1. Landing on platforms is harder than it used to be but they actually fixed the save system, added box counters so gems are far less guesswork now, and included a time trial mode. Crash 2 and 3 are about the same as they ever were aside from 2 also getting a time trial mode. Overall, pretty good remakes I'd say.
>no fur-k
>those abominations on the right
How could anyone who calls themselves a Crash fan accept the hogshit Vicarious squeezed out into their mouths?
Oh, and also with Crash 1 you no longer have to clear a stage without dying for boxes to count with the exception of the colored gem stages.
>everyone who remotely likes the game is nostalgia blind or a shill
>being this upset that the remakes actually give you game overs for a change
God you are such a fucking faggot. It doesn't take rocket science to understand why someone enjoyed something you didn't.
The remakes aren't unplayable, and the new controls and hitboxes objectively make them harder. We can agree on this much.
Why be such an obtuse faggot that you ca't understand why someone would like this. Why they would enjoy playing the games from their childhood again, but actually as difficult as they were when they were a kids?
If the difficulty and hitboxes were anywhere NEAR enough reason to throw these games in the trash for being cash-ins (which they are) then guess what? People obviously wouldn't hesitate to shit on them for it. It's fucking Activision.
But I've played the original games enough times (too many fucking times) and fucks sake, they are extremely linear and mind-numbingly easy to play. Any goddamn change to make them harder that doesn't make them unplayable was welcome in my eyes and in the eyes of many.
Fantastic, 2 and 3 are just as good as they always were, and the first one is actually playable now
Those are some of the least offenders, guys like the Komodo Bros. and N. Tropy are just wrong.
Not gonna lie. I love N Sane trilogy's changes for the most part (even the gameplay ones) but Crash's model still irks me. He looks so braindead and devoid of thought.
Which is cool, he's an idiot. But this is overdoing it.
>if they fuck up the hitboxes and physics that's perfectly fine because it makes it "harder"!
They could have made them legitimately difficult instead of fundamentally fucking up the games.
>How could anyone who calls themselves a Crash fan accept the hogshit Vicarious squeezed out into their mouths?
While they're not perfect, they're still way better compared to things in the past.
>if they fuck up the hitboxes and physics that's perfectly fine because it makes it "harder"!
They aren't 'fucked up'. It's not even different enough to make the games unplayable or too different to play than the originals, save for a few instances in Crash 1 and Crash 2's ice physics.
>They could have made them legitimately difficult instead of fundamentally fucking up the games.
They can't change any of the crate puzzles or levels, dingus. They are 1:1 remakes and are supposed to directly mirror the obstacles in the original.
That at least looks like it had effort and thought put into it. The shit VV made are awful by any standards.
>That at least looks like it had effort and thought put into it.
Let's be honest there was zero thought put into that MoM design.
>Crash 1 and Crash 2's ice physics
Oh God, I blocked that from my memory. They fucked that up so hard in these remakes, shit like the Cold Hard Crash gems were nigh insufferable.
>Before the recent nintendo direct
Great game
>After the recent nintendo direct
Awful trash
I didn't like it. Now where can I find legit Spyro remake details?
Nowhere faggot
You're not gonna like the Spyro remake either even if it does happen
That's where you're wrong kiddo. I love me some goddamn Spyro. I know there are some devs from Activision lurking here.
If I can get all the gems and relics in all 3 games then so can anyone else, no excuses.
SO THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE CRASH, IS ALL ABOUT. YA SEE? Crash is like, Jello pudding. No Crash is like, Kodak Film. No no, Crash is like the New Coke. He'll be around forever, heh hehe heh.
I can't wait to see all the High Road/Road to Nowhere relic bitching again. Soon, they will know. Soon.
holy fuck that is an old meme.
that takes me back...
