tl;dr Hi-Rez being Hi-Rez and the playerbase defends them because it's "not as bad" as the last update
Battleborn has 6 camoes in Ready Player One. Overwatch has 4, 3 of them are Tracer. 0 of them are Smite, Paladins, League, Dota, or any shitty game such as this.

Because they always start off so strong. Paladins has had a pretty decent run of quality, it's only recently that things went down the toilet. And even then, it was 90% likely some corporate asshat pushing Star Cards because he saw that EA was doing it and making money.
On a tangentially-related note, I've NEVER met a bunch of people as fucking sheeplike, with such a severe crowd mentality, as business students and executives. My fucking lord. They try to tell you, someone who actually understands a topic, what you should think about it and why. And every time, it's "everyone's doing this" or "this is how it's done because that's what everyone says". I can't tell you how many times I've heard speeches from these dumbasses calling some new exploitative tactic "the wave of the future" because a few snot-nosed shits got lucky and hit the jackpot. No critical thinking, no introspection, no original thought - unless it's a stolen idea that they're passing off as their own. Everytime I look at Paladins it keeps getting worse and worse. Started at OB35 iirc and took a bit of a break after OB50, but looking back at how things are progressing..it's like the devs don't want me to come back. Every time they take one step forward they take another 6 steps back a patch or two later (See: OB44 and OB64, especially the latter dumpster fire).
I love playing shit like Maeve and Seris. Is there any other decent game where I can play characters like them?

They're not done developing it so features get changed/removed/added constantly and it's kind of a mess. They don't know what they want it to be, it seems. Since it was released into beta it has went through many drastic changes. The characters are fun for the most part but feel samey at times. All the characters that use traditional guns turn me off the game because they just feel like the same gun or like they don't belong (stryx). There's a few that are really unique and super fun tho. Like Zhinn or however you spell his name, he uses a sword and with each swing he throws hot oil off of it in volleys of 3. There's also a tank character that uses an axe that's pretty fun. He has an ability to absorb incoming damage and shoot it back and a jump attack with his axe. I dunno, it's free so like, what do you have to lose? I bought the founders pack and have had enough fun to justify it, I suppose. I also play overwatch but like paladins a little more. Once Paladins gets released and is less of a meme/clusterfuck it will probably be a lot better than overwatch, honestly. Just don't take it seriously. It's fun alone and with friends imo. I mostly solo queue.

Nox in smite is the inspiration for Serris I'm almost 100% positive. She's a mage which is a damage dealer but definitely has more utility than others.

You forgot that the game is in a hell of a better shape gameplay and balance wise than it has been for the longest time, and is honestly still in extremely good shape. Also apparently there's some bug going round where you have to log out and in again to actually get the stuff you're supposed to. But yes, that doesn't change that a lot more people should be getting pissed off at this change, especially since they only just walked back from one of the most retarded moves after 3 months when everyone told them how retarded it was in the first hour.
