>no xdcc
>Tell us how you pirate.
Nice try NSA
there is no "best" way, it depends on the file
if I am downloading a 2 mb mp3, why go through all the trouble of using a torrent if I can easily direct download it?
torrenting is best for large files or folder systemswith subfolders and shit, which cannot be ddl'd
xdcc is a good alternative for quickly downloading bigger single files
i've never used or needed to use usenet before
shut up memer
xdcc is shit
Where the fuck is DC++
NICE TRY NSA
I prefer Mega using JDownloader 2. Private and public torrents are fine too.
dead
not private hubs
Music: soulseek
Games: pirate bay
Movies: pirate bay
Porn: pornhub and /gif/
where is XDCC on that list?
You clearly dun goofed.
nobody uses that shit anymore
How's it feel being very delusional?
music: rutracker and what.cd
games: tapochek.net, rutracker
apps: mac-torrents, inmac, rutracker
Any Germanfags here?
What do you use? Torrents or share hosters?
I was too afraid to torrent until now, but a VPN is cheaper than an uploaded.net account.
But I don't want to get raped in the ass by Abmahn keks
How's it being a basementfag living with your mom and having to use IRC because you couldn't torrent from her connection anymore?
There is no best.
>DDL
Depends on the file host. If they let you parallel download at max speeds without any restrictions, then obviously it's the best, but its rare to find hosts like that.
>Torrents
Depends on the amount of seeds. Usually popular private trackers are going to have well seeded torrents, but you also have to be part of their community and share.
>Usenet
Going to be perfectly honest, I never used it.
>Depends on the file host. If they let you parallel download at max speeds without any restrictions,
What is Bankupload. Fast as fuck on IDM.
They do that because they are unknown as fuck. As soon as they reach Uploaded level they will make the speed low as them.
That's why you stick to filehosts that are hungry for notoriety. Soon as they get big, go for their competition.
Or just use Real Debrid happy hours.
jDownloader + uploaded master race
>full speed anywhere, even obscure files
>can sleep at night because no copyright troll lawyer / strike / etc. bullshit
>always having a kek when you're on "scene" boards and 12 year olds discuss how they build their next gaming PC
Stop projecting, you sound way mad.
>paying for uploaded account
no
Useless if none of the pirates/content uploaders are using that file host.
I don't even use IRC, nigger. I torrent. All the time.
There is too little porn for uploaded since forumophilia banned it as a hoster.
hahahahaha I knew it. nobody uses DDL.
Glad I didn't fall for the DDL meme.
I get all media from torrents except some vydias I really like, I get those from Steam/Origin. I also try to buy movies/tv shows I really liked to show my support for the content creators every now and then.
Honestly though downloading is still best done through torrents. Despite the fact that less people are torrenting nowadays it's still the best way to download media. You can pause downloads at any time and if your download gets interrupted your progress will remain the same. I wish we could download all files this way.
Torrents because I live in a free country.
which country?
>t. federal agent
> retard who can't use an IRC client detected
> retard who can't script his own IRC client to automatically queue downloads detected
I signed up for usenet through 2 of the biggest suppliers just to try it out.
It is infinitely inferior to torrents. It might have been great some time ago, but nowadays it's fucking shit due to lack of content uploaders.
It's always the worst hosts too
>captcha
>max 50KB/s
sure buddy, more for me then.
You just have shit Usenet indexers.
You can't even prove that good indexers even exist. Torrents are king. Putting pirated content on servers used in a business and then publicly indexing it is fucking stupid.
This poll proves that Usenet is fucking dead.
premium is nice though.
I actually fell for the meme and bought 2 years for 90 bucks. It's 3.75 per month and you get fullspeed erryday.
There's an abundance of content so I guess they pay the uploaders well since everywhere I look it's always on uploaded. Their business model probably also relies on having absolute shit tier speeds for free downloads to have enough time to display ads and nudge people towards premium.
It works right now, at least. I don't expect it to work forever, I actually think they'll go down the same way as rapidshare has, but whatever, then someone new will come and torrents will always be there. Maybe the jurisdiction in my country regarding torrents has shifted towards something more graceful in that time.
>paying
>for a filehost account
Holy shit nigger do you realize we all get the same shit for free?
I have nzbs.org account -- I actually got it years ago after they had closed their registration by forging a registration POST request that looked like those of other indexers that used the same indexing software to register the account :^); and then I told the admin about the problem because I like dicks.
It's a good and free indexer, but there are others around.
> You can't even prove that good indexers even exist.
I don't have anything to prove kek. Use what you want, love.
> This poll proves that Usenet is fucking dead.
Good, if it does to you then it does to others. The less people that talk about Usenet the better, the longer it lives and is useful. Thanks to the low amount of normies (read: you) it has been spared the attention of automated DMCA requests etc.
besides torrents, is there another p2p way of downloading i'm not aware of
i'm out of the loop on many things
Is anybody else a member of the private Mega link site we can't name here?
DDL at it's finest.
>it has been spared the attention of automated DMCA requests etc.
DMCA is killing usenet more than ever.
Well I should have said "more or less". It's still killing Usenet less than the other shit.
Just make sure to have a backup account on a different backbone.
I know torrents are free, but VPNs aren't and you basically need one for torrents unless you only download obscure shit or you actually like paying fines.
>besides torrents, is there another p2p way of downloading i'm not aware of
Gnutella, ed2k, dc++
Not popular anymore though.
At least tell me the name lover.
This. I have private internet access currently. If you live in germany there's no way around it.
>It's still killing Usenet less than the other shit.
DMCA doesn't affect torrents like it does Usenet because only KAT honors DMCA while every other torrent site does nothing.
>Just make sure to have a backup account on a different backbone.
Sorry I'm not pleb enough to PAY for 2 fucking accounts. Private trackers are free and I don't even use a seedbox.
>I know torrents are free, but VPNs aren't and you basically need one for torrents
Only if you use public trackers and like you said, download popular shit like Game of Plebs in a Jew-run nation like the US.
I wonder why strawpoll embeds and the actual website have broken for me in the last few weeks.
>If you live in germany there's no way around it.
Private trackers are loaded with Germans who don't use VPNs. Use private trackers only and you will never have to bother with a VPN.
...
>Is anybody else a member of the private Mega link site we can't name here?
Yes. It's pretty cool. Having all those mega links makes everything easy as fuck to download.
We don't name it here.
>Use private trackers only and you will never have to bother with a VPN.
Yeah you trade $30 for a whole year in exchange for dealing with autistic ratio management, competing with seedboxes, and elitism.
All you are doing is making those sites slower when people enter those URLs in their browser.
How did you pay? they don't accept paysafecards unfortunately.
I see they accept a bunch of gift cards, but it seems to be exclusively American stuff. I mean, I could probably get a starbucks or body shop card, but I doubt they'll count internationally.
Or did you just didn't give a fuck and paid with credit card?
how do you know they don't just use German VPNs?
Because they say they are German.
What prevents Germans from getting German VPNs?
It seems like the most obvious choice since it's probably going to have the best speed.
German law which makes VPNs subject to legal compliance. Germans either get a VPN provider that operates outside of Germany or use private trackers.
Or they avoid torrents altogether and use DDL since they can't be caught that way.
I knew Usenet was a meem.
I paid with Paypal. It doesn't matter how you pay, if PIA decides to turn their back to their users they'll have your IP anyways. Paying non-anonymously doesn't make you any more secure.
Yep that's exactly it. I use the Netherlands PIA VPN for torrents.
Well, you're technically adding a second point of failure since PayPal could turn their back on you.
Highly unlikely if all you do is torrent, but the risk is there.
Also there might be complications getting a high security job where they check your track records, and buying a VPN is always going to look suspicious.
PayPal has no reason to turn their backs on me unless PIA tells them they should. If PIA tells them they should, I'm fucked anyways since I connected with my real IP to the PIA VPN. They don't need PayPal to fuck me over at this point.
Benutze privates trackers du dummes Mensch
>Also there might be complications getting a high security job where they check your track records, and buying a VPN is always going to look suspicious.
I won't be getting such a job. But even if I were, this reads like FUD. Are you speaking from experience? If anyone asks me, I might as well claim that I didn't want people at my univ network reading my unencrypted traffic or getting access to my accounts, that's why I used it. There's nothing inherently so suspicious about using a VPN that I would be denied a job.
>getting a high security job where they check your track records
That is implying you don't automatically get disqualified for any high clearance job when you post on Sup Forums
I torrented a game for testing purposes last month. Havent been fined yet. I dont want to go overboard though.
But Mega is dying. Even its creator said to not use it anymore. Enjoy your link-sharing site.
I pirate with IPFS, you've probably never heard of it.
Name it you useless peasant
...
>tell us how you pirate
I don't because I did it twice and my ISP is now threatening to take my internet away and they've kept every other ISP from getting into this rural ass town and from what I read VPNs will make it look like your neighbor did it or some shit which I don't want to do.
>islamophobia
Why? This is a good thing.
>islamophobia is bad
wew lad
HorribleSubs DDL / Torrent
> I don't pirate because I am stupid and gay
poor neet detected.
go graduate you piece of shit
the lowest effort
I'D LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO:
nice try nsa
this
there is no fundamental reason to prefer ddls over p2p for small files
ddl being less effective for large files is not the same thing
You should use whatever is available and convenient for the file you want. I never use usenet, though, it's not piracy if you pay for it.
You're going to change your tune when DDL sites like uploaded are seized and their user logs are taken for mass scale litigation.
Are you implying the MPAA does not sit in torrent swarms and collect IPs?
If you use a VPN DDL sites are fine. Even if they were to hypothetically get seized.
They might be seized, I sincerely dount that the users will all be sued. This has never happened -- not to megaupload, not to rapidshare, not to any big filesharing hoster that went down.
>paying to pirate, twice
>if I am downloading a 2 mb mp3, why go through all the trouble of using a torrent if I can easily direct download it?
You know you can zip folders right?
>This has never happened
Give it time. It will all occur in one fell swoop...this future we've chosen.
Compare 20 or so dollars to 500 or so dollars for your movie/anime/music collection.
>Are you implying the MPAA does not sit in torrent swarms and collect IPs?
Of course not, only that DDLs are not some magical pass. If you're using a VPN you may as well torrent.
This is somehow always the step that these retards fails to think through. Can't they do basic math, or is the problem thinking two steps ahead.
I don't get it.
Is this VPN good? If not, how do I choose one that's right for me?
privateinternetaccess.com
It is, but don't take my word for it.
Google VPN review, check for anonymity (logging etc.), and maybe check out reddit/r/vpn
We will never name it because keeping it secret means keeping our Mega link archive safe.
>from what I read VPNs will make it look like your neighbor did it or some shit which I don't want to do.
This is the most retarded thing anybody has said this thread so far.
Hence it went ignored. Don't feed the trolls.
>buyfag gets triggered
Your degree didn't help you because you're so stupid that you buy things that are available for free.
College-educated pirate master race here.
Even if they get seized and da bolice gets some logs, so what?
The thing is
>Evidence is much more difficult to get. They might log that you have accessed file XYZ, but they won't log every single byte you've downloaded. So what if you cancelled the download halfway? Is it still illegal to download 50 useless kilobytes of a copyrighted movie?
>Fines for Downloading are much lower, and much harder to enforce since you're not directly (only indirectly) harming businesses by actually redistributing it.
This is why nothing has happened yet. Not for megaupload, rapidshare, no one. If the jurisdiction changes, if merely accessing the link is enough to be considered a copyright infringment, if fines for downloading increase, we can talk again.
