I thought reviews and results can't be released until the 21st, or something like that.
May 15 i think, but someone just leaked it.
17th
i don't get it? it's still faster than the titan, right? and faster than the 980 it's replacing?
I'm so confused. Is it nVidiots or AMDtards who are suicide watch? Sup Forums gives me such conflicting information. And just how long is it gonna take for all of these companies go bankrupt? Any minute now, right?
>2X faster than Titan!!!
Im confused isnt this showing good benchmarks for nvidia?
The 1080 is about 70% faster than the 980 according to that benchmark. Wasn't that what was expected?
About 24% ahead of the 980ti. About what everyone expected. Worth it if you get it at msrp but not more. Unless it's a special binned chip like kingpin or lightning.
It's over. AMD is finished.
It is barely faster than non OC 980Ti.
yeah in VR performance. this isn't VR performance though. it was always about 25% faster than a 980 ti in real world performance
>Leaving out the Pro Duo to make the 1080 not look like shit
>20% performance bump for $700
Top goy.
I'm pretty sure they said 2x more efficient per watt or something. Only a retard would take that to mean 2x faster speed. I do however recall them saying a 20% speed increase........which seems accurate.
Not sure if false flagging or just stupid.
>almost a 1/3 faster
>barely
Interedasting.
>sexy
Looks like a Bond villain --- runs business like a Bond villain.
>a 1,500 dollar Dual-GPU card surely is a competitor to a single GPU that's half the price
This just in, a more expensive Dual-GPU card is faster than a single-GPU card. Stop the presses everyone.
Not everyone already owns a 980Ti, you know. If you're going to pay $700 for 20% then yeah, you're a retard.
It seems you cant into math.
>sexy
absolutelydisgusting.jpg
17th that site always leaks stuff
24% slower means it's about 33% faster
Can you really overclock 1080? What if you cant? Will OC980ti be on par with this card?
2100 MEGAHERTZ
68° ON AIR
in VR* in games that use NVIDIAs tech*
so every game ever lol
the pro duo will be 1K by October and it is closer to a workstation GPU
Looks like 1080 is on par with 970 sli.
>35% faster than a 980Ti for the same price.
More like 980ti fags on suicide watch
AMD will never achieve 4.5
Not really. 1080 is pretty much twice as fast as a 970, meaning 100%. You never get 100% performance boost with SLI, more like 50%.
>Not everyone already owns a 980Ti
Anybody who can afford a 1080 likely does. The kind of retard who buys a top tier card for $700 is the kind of retard who has to own the best and upgrades every time something new comes along. Everybody else buys the second tier card and gets 90% of the performance for 60% of the price.
Look at the chart. 1080 is like 20% faster than 980Ti. 970sli is only a bit slower than that because of 3.5 meme.
No, they literally said 2x faster than Titan X but I believe they were only referring to specific VR scenarios where simultaneous multiprojection is used on the 1080. Of course, they did not make any effort to make this clear at all.
100/76 ~= 1.315, so it's roughly 31.5% faster than a 980 Ti. That would mean it would (theoretically) hit around 407.9% on that chart you posted, significantly faster than 970 SLI.
Real-world results may end up a bit worse but should still beat 970 SLI pretty easily. They probably didn't lie about it being faster than 980 SLI.
its only about 20% faster in games
I see my 290 is still relevant
I regret for not buying it from my friend back in the days for dirt cheap.
What?
>980Ti -> 310%
>970SLI -> 324%
Meaning 970 SLI is about 4.5% faster than 980Ti!!
While as on OP pic
>1080-> 100%
>980Ti -> 76%
Meaning 1080 is about 31.5% faster than 980Ti!!
Did you guys even finish elementary school?
>100/76 ~= 1.315, so it's roughly 31.5% faster than a 980 Ti
What is the logic behind those calculations?
Generalizing pretty big there. I got a friend using a 750ti that was saving up for a 1440p monitor and a 1080. He's already swapped his fx 6300 for a 6700k.
-Are you upgrading from a low end/ middle end card and want to step into 1440p @ 120hz or 4k @ 60hz? Buy a 1080.
-Are you upgrading from a 980ti? Why the fuck do you need a 1080 then? Do you need 16x hairworks and everything maxed in in witcher 3 4k? Is the difference between 35 fps and 55 fps worth $700 to you? Can you off your 980ti for a good price?
970ti will decrease to fury performance i guess
Too expensive 700$.
Dude.... Jeez. American education I guess...
Let me help you:
76 of 100 is 76% (76/100 -> 0.76)
100 of 76 is 31.5% (100/76 -> 1.316)
Because Nvidia launched a misleading marketing campaign making claims (or graphs that gave the illusion of claims) that the new card would be significantly better than the Titan X.
-One was 2x performance over TitanX*
*but only in VR
-The other was pic related, where adoredTV has extrapolated what the actual performance increase would be if the graph is to be trusted.
>2x faster than titan
who in their right mind would have said this? and why the fuck would you believe that? are you literally retarded?
Where did you get 76?
*131.5% not 31.5%
>3DMARK11
3DMARK12 when??
I want AMD to shine on these.
CEO said that on the scene during the presentation.
>itt dumb drones who are getting mad about marketing tactics
lrn2business faggots. just because amd is shit at it, it doesn't mean everyone else should be pulled down to their level.
The numbers in OP's chart. GTX 980 Ti has 76% of the performance of a 1080 (100%). 100% referenced to the 980 Ti's lower 76% is 100/76 = 1.315 = 131.5%. This means that a 980 Ti has 76% (24% slower) of the performance of the 1080, while a 1080 has 131.5% (31.5% faster) the performance of a 980Ti.
It's the rule of three or w/e it was called.
A good 980 ti overclocked to 1550mhz gets about 19000 on fire strike. 1080 gets gets 21000 at stock clocks. For $50 less than the original 980 ti msrp and a year later that's a pretty massive generation jump.
Fury x owners are severely cucked though. They get 14000~16000 on a good day and that's about it. Only 4gb vram and the same price.
OP picture?
If you have problems with percentages, just take the absolute values form the benchmarks.
1080 is about 30-35% faster than 980Ti

I still have a 560ti I gout for $230~ 4+ years ago now. I plan to get a 1080, it's way more than worth it imo. It's like a billion % increase in performance and $600 isn't much to spend for it now. I've only very recently seen trouble from my 560ti lately, so I think I'm choosing the right time to pick up a new gpu.
220 of pure sanctification
Fury X was never worth it, a total disappointment of a card. I was hoping that the WC would at least let it reliably clock up to the 1200MHz+ range, but no, it's fucking shit for OC too. Expensive at launch too, on top of only having 4GB VRAM.
Not sure why you're linking me that, I know the rule of three and applied it correctly.
ITT retards and trolls
Wait for gp100, aka ti version.
They'll drop the 1080 to $500 then.
If you're going to be waiting likely ~1 year, you may as well be playing the waiting game forever.
>Relative performance
nah 6 months tops
1070 looks like an amazing deal but I wouldn't even touch the 1080 knowing there's an obvious ti version coming.
I'm not waiting anymore. I have need of an upgrade and the money for it.
30% in synthetics means 15-20% in games.
Bleh, not all that good.
What does Ti stand for?
Titty insertion
I want to Titty insert Hotaru
I have a 670, so the 1080 is definitely worth upgrading to right? I could wait for polaris but I don't care about a bunch of mid to low tier cards.
titanium
Wtf need to see 1070 benchmarks. Trying to figure out if 1070 or 1080 for 3440x1440p
And that will be 6 months away from some other stupid bullshit new gpu, and that'll be 6 months away from..., etc, etc.
so what's the performance difference between it and the 980? 70%?
It's not going to be 6 months. It's going to be Q1 2017 at the earliest since that card is going to be using HBM2 and with the way these things go you should be somewhat pessimistic and assume that you may not be able to grab one before Q2.
Its fucking nothing.
Nigger look at OP pic. 41%.
What are you so eager to play, the latest ff port?
Whatever dude, feel free to cuck yourself out of free performance when the 1080 ti launches because you couldn't wait a measly 6 months. It'll have 1070 sli performance for the same price if not a little more than the 1080.
it's 70% you spastic.
100-59=41. Do not overcomplicate it.
hotaru is my fetish
Shit taste.
That looks quite good. ?
Not when you consider it's $700 and a 980ti can be had for $500.
Not really.
>Going from 28nm to 16
>20% performance gains
>700$
Pro Duo is a stuttering mess.
yup. 70% faster than the card its replacing for around the same price
$200 more is
>around the same price
Lol
You can buy new 980Ti RIGHT NOW for 500$. 1080 will cost 700$ for a while. Do the math.
This graph is fucking amazing lol
Guys don't buy the 1080. The Ti will be along in less than a year and then you'll feel bad about not being cock of the walk anymore. If you absolutely need a card now get the 1070.
GP104 aka 1070 and 1080 are mid tier cards, the enthusiast one is the GP100, aka titan and ti. The 490x might bash the 1080 like the 390x bashed the 980, it's too early to say tho
How about that Polaris 10 delayed until October? AMD not even not competing anymore. They're just there.
>literally useless synthetics results
This so much
>500$
No. The ones that have the nearest performance to the 1080 are all well over $600.
the 1080 is $599 MSRP and performs better than even a $700 overclocked, custom PCB 980 ti, with more and faster VRAM.
>its an amdrone suddenly thinks the 980 ti is good, episode
Found the marketer. newegg.com
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP! 539$
>the 1080 is $599 MSRP
No one is going sell it according to MSRP. 700$ minimum.
>its an amdrone suddenly thinks the 980 ti is good, episode
Are you retarded?
The 1080 is launching at $700, and board partners have no obligation to launch the MSRP models anytime soon, even disregarding the usual launch price hike.
>The 490x might bash the 1080 like the 390x bashed the 980,
>like the 390x bashed the 980
