That's part of HSTS. HTTP Strict Transport Security. The word "Strict" is literally in the name. It means you don't have an option to use invalid or non-HTTPS connections. Mozilla didn't create the standard, the IETF did. Mozilla just implemented it. The same thing happens in Chrome.

HSTS is a cross-browser standard. No user recourse is part of the standard. It's meant to protect retards who fall for phishing scams.

You can always patch your browser to disable it, but having no control is part of the standard in case some retard figures out how to gain control

If that's the case, they probably had HSTS enabled at some point, and you visited it while it was enabled. Once that happens, it stays on for the time period specified in the header it received, even if they disable it. The default is usually a year. I can visit that shitty site in Firefox just fine because they currently do not use HSTS and I never visited it while they did.

Instead of blaming Firefox you should try to understand how shitty standards work, since it works the same way in Chrome.

Chrome does not support high DPI text as well as Firefox. With Chrome the spacing for text is messed up.

That depends on your system. Firefox uses system font rendering while Chromium-based browsers use their own font rendering.
