they don't need to pay anymore. i shill their shit for hot pockets because it helps me git gud.

DELETE THIS!

Nvidia cards are virtually perfect! The 970 is the best price/performance card o the market!

most of Sup Forums weren't even born by 2006

What card was released around 2006? the 8800gt?

The 8800 was one of the best cards ever made.

Was this you on my local kijiji?

Nothing new here. Microshit does the same. I bet AMD too.

1080 OC will be around 20, maximum 30 % faster than a 980Ti OC. But I already saw Titan X sold for 550 €, 980Tis for 350. I'm not joking...

AMD definitely does. They get an unrealistic amount of shilling even though historically their cards have almost always been worse than nvidia equivalents.

Historically, they never matched the 8000 series, but the 5000 ATIs were good, same as 7000. Their problem is they only deliver shitty rebrands and a 4 GB enthusiast card. I hope the coming generation can compete better. The 970 was a complete disaster.

The 970's main flaw was the whole 3.5 gb vram ordeal, but my videocard only has 2gb vram and I've never really had an issue with that before.
Anyway, I think AMD's issue is that they release cards that are weaker than nvidia's and then they eventually get them to match performance through driver updates.
By the time this happens though it's almost time for the new cards to come out and nvidia once again releases cards that are more powerful.

The only thing amd has going for it is price/performance, but for anyone willing to spend money they will go with nvidia.

Dunno why but i kek'd

>The 8800 was one of the most overpriced cards ever made.
fixed.

If you compare the 680 and 7970, the 7970 is better because it has more VRAM. If you need price/performance than you buy a used AMD.

When we compare the 390X and 980, we see we 980 needs only half the cooling. Also amazing OC. The problem is the 3/290 was meant to compete Kepler. It runs hot and doesn't OC that well while it has extreme power draw compared to 900.

Otherwise the 980Ti has a better price/performance ration than the 980, possibly the best of all 900 series.

Yeah but the 7970 was consistently out of stock forever on any version that has a good cooler because nobody wanted to have the shitty loud one. That's actually the reason I got a 680.

Damn I feel old. I got an 8800gt in my closet. Its dead. kicked last year. Also got a Voodoo 3 2000, Radeon 32mb sdr pci, Xpert 98 8mb pci, 6800 GT. Currently I use a Geforce GT 740 2GB. I play older games so I don't need a fancy card.

You can forget 680s nowadays, 2 GB will be always full in newer games. I hope you got a 4 GB card.

There were 6 GB 7970s btw, but I think these were extremly rare.

>I hope you got a 4 GB card.
I didn't, I don't think they were out yet. Luckily I'm still managing even with the VRAM maxed out in everything. The coil whine is intense with high framerates though. I hope when I eventually replace it cards won't have that anymore.

Yeah, I'm probably getting the 1070.

Me too, if its not similar to the 970. I have a 780Ti for 4K, which was the only affordable option for 4K with Gsync, I don't want to spent much until real 4K cards (1080Ti) come up.

DELETE THIS!

I mean, the 1070 will probably be sufficient at 4K if you don't max out all the settings like AA and shit.

>online actors
haha
wat

Yes, I had a Titan X, its enought to run decent settings but not enough to max anything. I sold it because I bought it for Mass Effect which didn't release yet.

The 1070 seems affordable and good to play anything in my native resolution (Some newer games already drop below 60 FPS low on my Ti) until Andromeda comes and I can buy the 1080Tis. I can't wait for the E3.

Yeah, I'm actually not really interested in doing 4K right now.
What I mostly want is 1440p at 144 hz, but the monitors for that are ridiculously expensive.

I bought a 4K and selling it would be a loss and downgrade for me. I mostly only play ME3 but want to get into newer games like Elite and Battleborn, maybe BF1, these don't run well on my system. The requirements for 144 Ht 2K should be similar, 2x 1080Ti SLI, I hope you are willing to spend.

Would you recommend 4k at 60fps or 1440p at 144 fps?
I've always preferred more fps but if 4k makes a significant difference I can live with 60 fps fine.

4K is more enjoyable for the visual quality, 144 Hz if you play fast/competetive shooters. But I don't mind to miss 1 out of 1000 kills in Battlefield, the visual quality is amazing, and the 780Ti can run it on Ultra 60 FPS without MSAA.

>he doesn't remember the ATi 9500

>He doesn't remember the FX series
So old that I don't need to mention it, ATI wasn't AMD then. I had a 9800 Pro btw.

It was better than the HD2400 Pro I later used. Unfortunately AGP.

Why is nobody fucking mentioning this
This was written a fucking decade ago Jesus Christ

I honestly don't care =^)

I'm not buying your poorfag shit.
