I want the oukitel k6k premium to come out now not in a half ducking year.
Benjamin Nguyen
Those are the ordinary GT-i9192. I'm looking for the GT-i9192i.
The difference is the former is dual-core, while the latter is quad-core.
Ethan Gray
>I want the oukitel k6k premium to come out now not in a half ducking year. There's a bunch of phones that are supposed to come out with the X20 SoC and word is that Mediatek had to delay it because it overheats, so all the phones are pushed back.
Owen Bennett
Still debating between getting the S7 Edge and the HTC 10. My Current phone the Galaxy Note 3 is starting to fall apart and lag like hell.
HTC 10 pros: >less bloat >better DAC/AMP
S7Edge pros: >better battery life >better camera
Henry Clark
Yeah but why do you want that old phone anyway? for ~140 you have better options.
Jackson Bailey
wtf network are you using it on?
Christian Martinez
I have a custom Android OS that allows me to interact with my car headset that doesn't work with Lolipop or later. I also dislike the UI of Lolipop+ and unfriendly features of many other later Samsung phones.
The GT-i9192i isn't that old, it came out in the last few months of 2014, but I've been searching since January and it's been sold out everywhere.
Alexander King
Is the iPhone 5s still worth it? I need a burner phone for a couple months and I want to try iOS. Is around $300 good for it?
John Taylor
>Still no new Nexus leaks >Google I/O is wednesday
Dylan Gomez
I would add waterproof and wireless charging to the s7 pros and warranty covering open boot loader to the 10. Imo the aluminium unibody is another pro of the 10 and the glass back a flaw of the s7 bc of slippiness and another glass that can break but that're opinions. Actually it will work completely fine in Europe, but I already saw that 4g and 3g for America are a problem.
Thomas Allen
S7E. waterproof, lighter, SD card etc.
Adam Green
is the xperia m4 aqua any good? only thing I can find within my price range, $250-$300. Will mostly use it for regular phone stuff, and social media, photos, and casual web stuff.
Ian Barnes
>I have a custom Android OS that allows me to interact with my car headset Can you elaborate? in what ways?
Hunter Davis
Doea the Samsung Galaxy s5 have an SD card slot?
Robert Carter
>within my price range, $250-$300 RN3P.
Easton Collins
there needs to be flags in the spg threads because all of this talk about chinkphones is pointless if they don't even work as phones
if you're in germany, great, but anons shouldn't suggest phones to other anons without knowing what country/carrier they're using, ESPECIALLY chinkphones
S7 Edge owners: show me your regulatory info page. I need to see if any carrier or unlocked model had the Japanese certification, so I can import.
Settings > About device > Regulatory Information
Its be a really big help! Its expensive as fuck over here, so if I could save a few hundred bucks (and avoid a contract) that would be awesome.
Easton Perry
Is there any way I can decrypt my N6? I've heard that it drastically increases performance. What are the pros and cons of an encrypted and decrypted phone?
Jose Davis
Any cons for the S5 besides samsungs usual bloatware? I only ever owned one smartphone, and I want something nice without going overboard on the price. Also, removable battery/MicroSD support is nice
Liam Rogers
Avoid M4 Aqua like plague.
Juan Collins
Why the fuck would you buy a two year old phone?
Ryder Harris
>2GB RAM >Snapdragon 800 It's getting old
Aiden Richardson
I can manually toggle the backup camera and record what it sees to the phone's SD card, and make use of the car antenna as a more powerful receiver for 4G LTE.
This is all controlled from the phone because the car headseat is a black box.
Brayden Lewis
Because all the features on it look nice and I don't use phones for games. And a resolution on 1920x1080 sounds better than 4k or whatever phones nowadays have
Whats standard for RAM nowadays? I can't into cellphone processors, so I'm out of the question there
Joseph Carter
>Whats standard for RAM nowadays? 2GB is now a minimum. 3GB is sweet spot.
Connor Evans
The S6 and S7 really amped up the specs creep, while there isn't a lot of difference with the S5 and S4.
But the S6 is a POS when it comes to resource management, and there were regressions in the S5/S6, so in my eyes S4 skipped directly to S7.
Camden White
Sounds arbitrary.
Michael Wright
That shit doesn't matter for Android unless you're running a resource intensive OS like MARSHMALLOW.
Older phones with less shit UI don't need all that memory, except if you try to play games.
Lincoln Jones
calling all ukfags moving soon, looking for something inexpensive and internationally viable. dual sim is sweet. Moto X? Wileyfox Swift? "chink shit"? Or do I bite the bullet any get something premium with iOS/touchjizz that's gonna work everywhere
Charles Evans
thank you.
Easton Hughes
Its not like i got to choose anyway.
Grayson Roberts
> less shit UI What is touchjizz
Carson Moore
You need to read up on the bands supported by your dual sim and bands by the carriers you are going to telephone on.
There are many stories of retards buying phones but not RTFM and their phone doesn't work on their new carriers. International phones work mostly everywhere, but not literally everywhere. Do your research.
IIRC, Nexus with Google's new roaming service does actually work everywhere. But it's Nexus. Your ass belongs to the botnet if you go that route.
Dominic Perez
>That shit doesn't matter for Android Yeah right, just fuck off. Have fun having 1GB of RAM with Touchwizz or any other skin. Not to mention your multitasking is dead below 2GB's of RAM.
Parker Myers
My current phone has 1 GB of RAM and it seems fine with me, anything where needed a bunch of RAM actually comes in handy, besides (im guessing) video games? I've rooted it and changed the lock screen and TouchWiz garbage with Nova and it seems more responsive, and I don't lag in any app I run aswell as when switching between apps. Firefox is about the only laggy thing I have though
I wouldn't get an S6/7 because they do not support removable batteries and MicroSD. Is the S4 any good then? Just want a comfy phone for the next 2-3 years and the high end phones nowadays are absolute shit and pricey.
Jackson Diaz
lads I'm after an iPhone I already have a Macbook Pro so I can see the added value in having an iPhone. Do I jump on the iPhone 7 gravy train, or just get it over with and get a 6 or an SE?
Jaxon Allen
>Not to mention your multitasking is dead below 2GB's of RAM.
What kind of multitasking are you doing? Shitposting over TOR?
I've been on willmyphonework.net and gsmarena as if my life depends on it.
I was looking into Google fi with their deal on a nexus phone, but it's only for Americans.
Austin Mitchell
S4 is still highly modable, so you can overclock it and customize it enough to be comparable to a 2015 phone. If you're willing to put in the effort to research the ROMs it is still a good experience in 2016. Samsung doesn't continue to manufacture the S4 because it sells like shit.
Neither the S6/S7 really justify the price to me, I'm still waiting for that upgrade that is 100% better than the S4.
Andrew Adams
S7 has an SD slot.
Asher Bailey
I'm talking globally, not myself exclusively.
>rooted it >changed the lock screen >changed TouchWiz garbage >installed Nova You did all this just to make your device lag less and yet your basic crap like Firefox struggles to open websites.
>I don't lag in any app I run aswell as when switching between apps Yeah, it doesn't lag when you switch between Contacts and Messenger. That's completely believable.
Let's not forget that you constantly have to close multiple (if not all) apps in the background to reduce lag. Phone with 1GB *may be* suitable for phones and texts at most.
Ryan Williams
>Phone with 1GB *may be* suitable for phones and texts at most. "for calls and texts" meant to say, my mistake.
Ayden Cruz
I'm traveling a lot through europe this summer so need a phone with a great camera, decent battery life (going to bring a 10Ah portable charger with me), and lots of international band support
I was thinking of doing the $199 Nexus 5x deal with google fi since that will cover international roaming for $10 extra and I won't have to fuck with sim cards
Are there better options?
Andrew Jones
>Firefox
Getting a better browser would help. Firefox has known multitab problems even in the desktop version. Mozilla is too short staffed and too stupid to fix this.
Isaac Peterson
>>better DAC/AMP What headphones do you have?
Isaiah Howard
Are there camera controls like the camera module of the LG 5 for other smartphones? Perhaps as a case or so.
Elijah Cruz
...
Jason Bennett
Then I'll look into the S4, thanks. Or any cellphones comparable? I only know Samshit phones because they look and feel nice, aswell as the UI isn't absolute shit like huawei or whatever it is that I had to use once.
That's nice to know, but they never solved the removable battery which is one of the better things about cellphones.
Firefox only ever lags for a split second, when I start it up or switch between tabs. But sure, I guess I don't use my phone much, which is why I'd rather get an old phone rather than a new sparkly crap.
I use Naked Browser for light browsing, firefox for most everything else. Any browser you recommend?
Liam Harris
I used Ghostery on my S4. It's built off a fork of Chrome and the tracker blacklist has a side effect of being a mild ad blocker. You lose out on the Firefox customizability, but it's a good mix of speed, privacy and adblock.
My only gripe is turning off the phone often means you have to reload pages, which is a problem if you're using Wifi only and you move to a deadzone. The phone tries to refresh and you can't read what you downloaded on that page.
Carter Jackson
>That's nice to know, but they never solved the removable battery which is one of the better things about cellphones.
G5 has them both, and it's still a shitty phone.
Chase Allen
...
Carson Morales
I'll look into Ghostery, thanks. >adblock Already have Adaway which is lovely as hell with advertisements in anything and everything.
Which is why I asked what I asked in this post I don't know much about phones as I know about Desktops, as I never had a phone before and the one I have now is a bit shitty and is still my first smartphone.
Xavier Martin
Anyone know a way to bypass wifi authentication portals? Like when you log on to the wifi, it asks you to agree to their TOS, or watch ads, or something.
I've heard that software like Republic Wireless can connect and bypass this. I don't know how that works.
Daniel Baker
whjat do you guys think of termux?
pic unrelated
Ayden Parker
When the S5 was new, there was no reason to upgrade to it. It was a uniformly awful "improvement" offering hardware bloat and no real hard upgrade. Now that the phones are closer in price, it's more of a wash, but you're still buying hardware bloat and reduced customizability compared to the S4, especially the pre-Knox S4.
With the S6+, there are actual pros and cons that go along with the price. But each new gen has been less power user friendly. Samsung doesn't make these phones for power users, it makes them for the sheeple who want to upgrade every year.
Evan Young
S7 would last longer than S5, no need for a removable battery. buy an external battery case or a battery bank if it's such an issue.
Or a chinkphone ala Oukitel K6000, Ulefone Power with huge batteries. they're too heavy for my liking.
Mason Cook
Thanks. Also, does the S4 rely on all the Google garbage that is in it? or can I just remove all the bloat?
I'm interested in the phone before the battery, but the battery just has to be removable, having it locked into the cell just feels wrong. In a year when the battery gets shitty, then I can just switch it out.
Christian Fisher
Is the Moto G still the best option under $200? I'm in the US on Sprint and I desperately want to upgrade my potato.
Matthew Foster
My current contract runs out in November, so I've been thinking about my replacing it. I was thinking of the oneplus 3, if specs are good.
My friend was suggesting a s6, but I don't see the point. The op3 should have better specs and no bloatware. Thoughts?
Nicholas Nelson
Buying an S4 or S5 at this point in time is retarded no matter how you spin it.
Jayden Thompson
Wait for OP3, it should come out soon with better specs.
Caleb Green
So, I never had a smartphone. Should I buy this as my first?
The specs haven't been announced, right? Different sources are saying different things
Matthew Wood
hi /spg/ i dun goofed.
I flashed a buggy as hell marshmallow based rom for redmi note 3 pro and fucked up my IMEI and baseband because of it. Simcard and wi-fi is not working.
how do i fix this? All guides are written by third worlders, fucking impossible to understand.
Ayden Walker
HTC is also unlocked bootloader. And they have also pushed more updates dealing with the camera.
But the s7 has water proofing and a top display. Does software but matter to you?
Logan Richardson
lol no thanks
Jaxon Murphy
Just flash another rom.
Julian Foster
>>Also, does the S4 rely on all the Google garbage that is in it? or can I just remove all the bloat?
Even if you drop in Cyanogenmod, it's difficult to run a lot of apps without the Google framework. Things like GPS get very confused if you rip out too much.
It's safer to just remove the Samsung bloatware. You can remove some Google things, but I would not remove maps even if you don't use it.
Isaac Brooks
Most Samsungs have awful battery life because of how thin they are, touch wiz and the absurd screen res.
Angel Morgan
Yo what's fucking up my Doze? How do I find out
Michael Long
>android
Nathan Gomez
I still have a moto x from 2013. Amazingly everything still works great and I've been pretty lucky
I don't know if I should upgrad to the HTC 10 or wait to Oct. For when the new Nexus devices are released.
William Wilson
Right now all the google garbage on my phone is taking up nearly 400mb worth of data. I've not bothered with them because I read before you can brick your phone or the OS or something. Is there a webpage on what is safe to remove and what not?
How typical, can you recommend another phone?
Evan Bailey
Why would you want any? The lens will always limit you considerably and if you don't mind carrying extra stuff with you, you may as well buy a nice compact or MILC.
Tyler Cox
Did you even Read my post? Its mu IMEI and baseband flashed away, its not a rom issue
Aaron Collins
Anyone still using a Galaxy S3 here? Mine has visible wear, but I still don't think I can warrant an upgrade.
Levi Gray
Anyone own a Xperia Z5c or just any Z5 in general? My S5 is slowly turning into shit because of Samsung quality and I'm thinking of getting one of the Z5s, most likely compact but the camera just seemed so bad. Any advice?
i think its cool to have it all in one place, so I was curious
Nathaniel Allen
No, only rumors. SD820+6GB RAM is the speculation.
Noah Cox
What you should do is make a backup nandroid in whatever custom recover you run, and remove each Google app one by one to confirm that your apps still work without it. If something's screwed up, recover to the backup.
As I said earlier, the IP-based GPS gets totally confused if you remove Maps, so I wouldn't remove Maps under any circumstances unless you know how to consistently spoof your GPS and/or IP and get away with it.
Connor Rogers
your display is fucked
Joshua Jackson
If that's an option (Fi and that price) id do it. The 5x has had a lot of bug fixes and performance stuff. And it has the same sensor as the 6p which takes detailed shots. It under exposes though. I don't know if RAW is available.
James Watson
You should probably go to that GSM phone forum and beg for help. I'm not aware of how to repair IMEI on Xiaomi, only Samsung.
I know MTG have ways of changing IMEI, you could Google that but it's not much help.
Yeah, I got one. I don't know what you're asking.
That's compensated by the number of cores Samsung drops in their phones. Quad for a mini and octa+ for a full sized S more or less negates the battery issues.
Nathaniel Barnes
It's cool, but it really won't make your photography any better, if that's what you are interested in. You can get a used ILC/compact for the same price, but that's of course more things to carry around. That being said, it would still blow my 1020 out of the water all day any day, just due to using larger optics.
Dominic Bell
Just give it back, Derek
Tyler Johnson
Do you mean the dimness? It's an app (which is not the cause of the Doze messing up)
