disappointment

ChromeOS: Android Edition
Android with less gApps

disappointment

long range disappointment

short range disappointment

CAN YOU REPEAT THE QUESTION?

disappointment and more botnets

What if you expect to get disappointed but you got disappointed instead?

Your friendly leaker here with hot & fresh outta the oven info!

Android N will be named Nougat and will be version 7.0

There'll be two Nexuses (Nexi?) for you to buy!

Android Nougat will feature some strong VR APIs for use with Cardboard!

>hyping on "everything's-botnet"-board

Lol, vr will have a different OS, called AndroidVR

>reading comprehension 101

that "leaker" over there said APIs not that you're phone will have them

Damn Android 7 already, why can't they just go on with decimals, anything above 10 doesn't sound nice anymore.

Muh Android 17.

then i'd be surprisingly disappointed instead actually

I have no idea what this is, but considering it's coming out of google post 2010 then I reckon it's probably a disappointment

I've been thinking about this too. Did we really need Marshmallow to be 6.0 when lollipop barely had one decimal increment?

>implying google pre-2010 didn't have its share of disappointments

The only thing I even want to hear about at this point is Android N and Project Ara.
Fully modular smartphones sounds like a great idea.

Won't they come out with an Android based VR device?

>Project Ara

I'm talking seriously here, who the hell wants a modular phone? The best they could do is offer a platform that enables you to chose what you want in your phone.

I don't think people want a flimsy phone, a consolidated and well made device is better. Not talking about the battery and removable storage here.

Also normies wouldn't care about having a modular phone.

Disappointment

it's to help/trick people (in)to see it as a completely new product, regardless of the advancement compared to the previous version

Please tell me the new version of Android is going to actually be worth a whole number upgrade. MM is bullshit.

So far the new dev previews have added quite a few features.
The new version has dark mode, native dpi changing, doze activation while the phone is in motion, API's for quick settings, etc.

Has anyone made the terrible "the next android version will be named Negro/Nigger " joke yet? well what else would N stand for?

then u were right
omg
it cant bee
shit it cant be
i rather just end my life

Lenovo is going to reveal their Project Tango-powered smartphone next month, so maybe a VR mount a la Gear VR. Project Tango has often been hailed as a good way to get us towards augmented reality but its ability to spatially track our surroundings and subsequently our head movements without external cameras is just as quintessential for virtual reality. The lack of proper headtracking is the biggest reason why Gear VR and Cardboard are so gimmicky right now.

I really hope they release something that can compete with the GearVR. That would be fucking awesome on my G4 because of 1440p RGB subpixel arrangement.

John Carmack have said that he prefers 1440p RGB to even pentile (used in GearVR, Rift and Vive) even at 4K: twitter.com/ID_AA_Carmack/status/702561430151639040?s=09

there's a rumour going around that project tango is simply going to be rebranded android VR

>developers """""conference"""""
it's a giant advertisement

That's really the only thing I think Google could possibly have up their sleeve.

I mean the Vive's front-facing camera is capable of room-mapping but not to the extent of Project Tango. Maybe the Anrdoid/ChromeOS merger has more to do with it than we're being led to believe.

It's both

i think we'll also see some major commerce related improvements to google now since they're probably going to show off that amazon echo competitor

Lad, they never release Nexus hardware at io.

>what is Google I/O 2012
>what is Nexus 7

I don't exactly know how?

> work swing shift at google
> wont get to see cool shit
> some gook will steal my parking spot or hit my car

at least im destroying them from the inside

why would they every pull back on gapps and waste time on it at io

google wants *in* everything, not out.

>One event nearly half a decade ago

Good on you, Moot.

Agree. Tech enthusiasts will pretend to love it, or maybe genuinely delude themselves into thinking they do, but none will actually but it.

>"Never release"
>rarely release
>reading comprehension 101

dissapointment

Yeah also another thing. You're bound to have an Intel tier memer to require a new socket every two year for whatever component they make.

> new 10K meme camera
> whoops need the octadragon p600 to process the input
> whoops require new "motherboard"
> oh well let's buy new one
> kek other components aren't compatible anymore
> ...
> ...
> ???

Also, modularity while keeping things solid inevitably means extra space so phones will either be bulkier or have outdated specs

So two tablets? The cheap 7' and the premium 8' we've been hearing about?
