14"

12-13" is too small
15" is too large
14" is Juuuuust right.

12-13 inches for a laptop you need to move with constantly, 14 for a general use laptop, anything bigger you may as well get a desktop.

12,5"

13,3", objectively.

15in rMBP

13 is too small, 14 is weird, 17in is too big

autism

>buying a 2k laptop

15 is big enough to watch movies w/ qt3.14 gf, small enough to fit in backpack.
Anything bigger is retarded, anything smaller should be a tablet

>buying shinkpads

14 is only weird because apple doesn't make a 14" laptop

If they did you'd be touting 14" as the savior of the planet.

I have always used 15.6 laptops but I am thinking of "downgrading" to a 14 inch as I take my laptops to uni pretty much every day. My only concern is gaming and video might be hindered. Thoughts?

>gaming
well you're a fucking retard for gaming on a laptop to begin with senpai.

>gaming
>laptop
Are you special?

19"

I'm fine with anything 10"+
15+ starts to get too big.

14" because that's what I own

There is no objective best size. It depends on the individual's specific needs.

12-13.3

except the 15in rMBP is about the same size as a 13/14in laptop but still has 15in

Personally I think 14"
I have a 13" laptop and although it's comfy af, sometimes I feel it's little bit too small

What if he cant afford to buy a laptop and a dekstop, but need a laptop no matter what?
I've been gayming for 4 years now on my 13" mba

That's gotta be the faggest trip ever

Then lets make a 14" laptop the size of 10-11" laptops

sorry but your argument well THIS 15" is actually smaller wont work. if that's the case make an even smaller 14"

13.3

I have a 15" laptop and it's just a tad big, I'd say 13-14 is perfect.

but that would be 13, which is too small

12.1"

X201 masterrace.

15" laptop the size of 13-14" is a 15"

But a 14" laptop the size of 12-13" is 13"?

You sure know how to apply logic.

I like 13 and 14. 15.4 is nice on the rMBP 15

12.1" with a 4:3 screen.

14" thinkpad

This is literally the elder god tier but the only laptop that I know of with those proportions is X60/X61 which is way too outdated now. Really a shame no one managed to replicate the beauty of X61, the best ultraportable ever created.
I use 16:9 14" now because everything is shit anyway and I can't afford pixel.

14 inch is the best compromise between usability and portability.

PowerBook G4 nailed it too, mine would still be my daily driver if the battery didn't die

As long as its lightweight 14" is perfect for general use

>what is an external screen?
Also
>gaming on a laptop

if u are not a professional uni gaymer probably 13-14" i tried every size

if it is retina(tm) then 13,3" otherwise you are a poor shit and go back to work and after 5year of deepthroating sucking ur boss u can buy a memepad

Didn't you hear? They put desktop CPU in laptops now and Thunderbolt eGPU have 40gbps bandwidth.

22"

Yeah but you're then paying several hundred dollars for an eGPU dock, and that's before putting a GPU in it. So you're still adding a significant expense.

They will get cheaper.

I'm using a shitty older expresscard based eGPU dock and it only ran me $50

12-14"

This

x220 thinkpad size

13.3 best size. 15 is too unwieldy, anything lower is too small.

What is objectively best breed of apples?

Depends what you use it for. Generally anything smaller than 10" or larger than 17" has a fringe audience though.

Ur mum baka desu senpai

8.9"

15,6" Full HD bois

Problem solved. He just has to buy a monitor.

Kek hello manlet

Retina MBP 13 inch is a great size. The thinkpad x240/x250 are also great sizes. My gf has a T440s for work and I think it's okay but too large for me, she thinks my laptop is a good size too.

15 is kinda big and cumbersome
13 is perfect, it's still an okay size but it's comfy

Provided that you also have a desktop or at least an external monitor (why the hell wouldn't you), the best size is no doubt 13". The perfect spot between too big (15"

17.3". And don't give me it's too heavy bullshit. If my mother can carry around a purse with the weight of an anvil you fucks are weak.

I fell for the 15" MacBook Pro meme when work offered me a choice of laptops, God I wish I had got a 13" one now.

For my sins I leave that mainly on the desk with its docking station and use a HP Elitebook 2170 when out and about.

13.3" MBP Retina :-)

Dell XPS13/15

I think 13" is the sweet spot for almost everything except for the absence of a numpad. They're useful in so many ways for those who utilize them, but I've not seen them on anything smaller than 15"

XPS 15. Size of 14" with 15" screen.

you got autism? seek help, m8!

12-14 depending on nuances in use case and user preferences.

I like 13" laptops, because I don't really have a use for a number pad on a laptop (most of my typing is on a desktop at home), and a number pad on a laptop pushes the a-z keys to the left, on a keyboard layout that already prefers the left hand

> The QWERTY layout has more than 3,000 words that are typed on the left hand alone and about 300 words that are typed on the right hand alone
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak_Simplified_Keyboard#Hand_alternation_and_finger_repetition

14"

Dell (and probably other manufacturers) has numpad on the keyboard in traditional 3x3 layout through fn key. I prefer it to all numbers in one row.

15" faggots

it depends on the objects
a powerful 15''-17'' laptop that's portable when it counts and will be better than a 12'' ultraportable university crawler for some use cases

likewise for the ultraportable

there is no objective best, if there was manufacturers wouldn't waste their time on anything else

I love how small my X220T is. 12.5 inches.

I'm 12.5" deep in your mom, faggot. :^)

13" is good, nice to carry around between places

>through fn key
dedicated keys or bust

Nigger you are doing it wrong.

Every size that fits into a normal backpack

12-13 inches with 1080 screens

17"

Disgusting, laptops are supposed to be portable machines.

>objectively

How can you objectively evaluate your personal preferences? Just use whatever the fuck you want

I think it's 14"

13 inch with 16:10 screen

Trips for truth

>you need dudebro specs to play gayms
What are retro videogames

You don't understand. This is Sup Forums, where people try to argue away their buyer's remorse at each other.

14" 21:9

Do you use this to look at snake videos

>weighs maybe 5-6 pounds at most
>treats it like it's a fucking wrecking ball

I never said anything about weight, it's simply too large.

>14" or less
manlet alert, only girls should have laptops this small

>15"
Good size, too small though.

>greater than 15"
Master race, probably a tall, white aryan male.

I use it to watch anime

I like my dell xps 13, it's bezel is absolutely tiny and it's VERY portable. It's about as portable as a tablet while being actually usable.

It's like the rednecks driving big trucks for overcompensation, Sup Forums edition

12.5"

The point of a laptop is being able to comfily carry it around tho

gorgeous

i remember seeing those in circuit city when they were the top of the line consumer mini-notebooks -- something like $3000 -- and then the it became outdated in 6 months

15"

If you disagree you're efeminate

15" or 17" anything below is manlet tier. I'm a woman, btw

A woman wouldn't have a tiny penis that he's overcompensating for

I have a vagina fyi. A tiny penis migh be what you're seeing when you look down.

Only downside is 2k display and no LAN-Port, you'll have to buy a USB3.1-LAN adapter. If you can, wait for v2 with 1070M.
