Should Ibuy the Casio F-91w?
Should Ibuy the Casio F-91w?
No, it's like any generic $2 watch.
Allahu akbar, my friend
Get one of these.
Do it unless you're kuffar faggot
>2016
>trying to look geek
does the Pope shit in the woods?
they are NOT like 'any generic $2 watch'
those things are mutifunctional, designed, with pedigree
authentic
Wou people who wear these must hate themselves
On other side it shows confidence to wear shit
Takbir my brother, insh'allah!
yeah but
its like an end of world watch
triffids everywhere - everything wiped out
you do not care about appearences
survivalist - you would opt for the casio-f91w
heck its got a 7 year battery
100m depth waterproof. you do not want to be concered with a fancy ticker in a bear attack
you just want to know the time, accurately (quartz)
It's literally the cheapest thing sand niggers could get their hands on to blow themselves up
>100m depth waterproof
Trying to destroy our watches this hard...
also date etc
backlight
stopwatch
I got one a few months ago and love the damn thing. So much functionality for ~$10. Wear this thing everywhere but the shower.
Only drawbacks are that it's on the small end (suits me fine, but will look weird if you have huge grisly wrists) and the backlight isn't quite spectacular.
It's a perfect beater watch to wear around in the yard/work/etc.
They're pretty good for showing the time
>tells the time
>stopwatch
what do you use it for/why would you wear this all the time
why wouldn't you just use your phone and consolidate devices
You could get something nicer for just $10 more.
only one fat stick? triggers me
both time showing sticks need to be fat! u racist, sexist pig I report u to SJW mods
Yes. Get it in the plastic or the metal silver. Get it in gold and you ruined the aesthetic
you can wear it in the shower it won't break, i've been wearing mine in the shower everyday for 2 years.
Two questions:
1) Is it a watch?
2) Do you own a cell phone?
I do the same as this guy, also literally went scuba diving ~35 feet in this damn thing
Yes
Hell yeah
Probably the best technology you can buy for ~10 bucks
There's also a ton of other Casio watches you can buy that are excellent
Sometimes it's fun for joggers to time their runs and see their improvement.
That being said, all the people in the Watch Thread are wasting hundreds of dollars on a depreciating piece of shit. Dropping $25 on a super-accurate Casio with a 10-year battery life isn't really the same thing.
Get the F-105W, same thing but with a better backlight.
This. The EL backlights are nicer than LED.
Posting more Casios

...
damn, i used to have one of those back in the 90s
>he didn't opt for the cold fusion battery
>Sometimes it's fun for joggers to time their runs and see their improvement.
yeah there's no way to do that with a phone
...
...
I dunno being able to just glance at the time without getting your phone out is really a big deal to me.
This looks really cool and it even comes in tacky ass gold
that mother fucker RIGHT THERE. got me through basic. Got me up early to shave so I didnt get my ass chewed.
thats great peasant
amazing story really
There is, but it's easier to raise your wrist up rather than dig into your pocket and then swipe the lock screen.
Also, i jog while using my phone as an mp3 player, so i would have to switch the menu back to the stopwatch and then back to the music. A cheap Casio is simpler.
I don't know if you're being sarcastic but It's a really cool watch
>tfw no chinese rainbow light casio
That's cool as fuck
Might make for a nice project, along with an inverted display mod
It does, but the F-91 is a patrician cult watch.
Just like IBM Thinkpads.
Going to sleep with the watch on your wrist. Yay or nay?
Why do you nerds buy these ugly ass watches? Cmon now, get a 40 dollar g shock at least.
We all have phones now in days, no point to have a watch anymore.
Illuminator is masterrace
It's easier to lift up your arm to see the time than to dig into your pocket, pull out your phone and press a button for the screen to light up.

I thought you guys were exaggerating, what the fuck? Some people are in prison for wearing a Casio?
en.wikipedia.org
>In a handful of cases the detainee's possession of a Casio watch or the wearing olive-drab clothing is cited as evidence that the detainee is an enemy combatant. No basis is given to explain why such evidence makes the detainee an enemy combatant.
>Salih Uyar told his tribunal: "If it's a crime to carry this watch? Your own military personnel also carry this watch, too. Does that mean that they're just terrorists as well?"
...
>costs $3
>lasts forever
I just bought it for the lap function while I was running, but I ended up wearing it daily.
I wish the band was higher quality.
It was only good because it was cheap, same with the silver and gold variants of it.
Now every hype beast has one so the price was driven up
Wearing mine now. Pretty comfy watch, has lasted me 2 years and going strong.
W201 looks better.
...
>you just want to know the time, accurately (quartz)
Quartz watches are not particularly accurate
It's a meme watch and more expensive than one found in Walmart
The case is WR for far less than 50m and not 100m
Nothing's better than having to whip out your phone while jogging/bicycling/while in a business meeting
Uh.. the battery will die before it's off by a second, and it's a 10 year battery
Yay. Its easier to check the time when half asleep from your watch than your phone
I never take mine off. The shower keeps it clean.
Go to be Joel.
Its a good waatch but i prefer my seiko 5, thing is automatic winding so i never have to change the battery
Fug , here in chile an f91w costs about 17~20 bucks ( about 14.000 clp) if I recall correctly.
>more expensive than one found in Walmart
Nope, because they're sold in Walmart
>Having a tarantula on your hand....
does that even play FLAC?
Ebay
Quartz watches drift by around 160 ms per day. Unless they're radio controlled, that *will* result in a noticeable difference over time.
>I wish the band was higher quality.
This. I wore mine for like two years out here in central Asia and it broke.
Get a NATO strap to replace that crappy plastic that tries out.
>it won't be off by even one second over a 10 year period
one of the most accurate quartz watches available (that doesn't recieve atomic signals), the citizen chronomaster is rated to ±5 seconds per year. and that's a specialty watch in that it's engineered to be as accurate as possible. do you really believe your pedestrian 2$ movement will be even more accurate than this?
even a cursory google search will prompt you to this:
"A typical quartz clock or wristwatch will gain or lose 15 seconds per 30 days (within a normal temperature range of 5 °C/41 °F to 35 °C/95 °F) or less than a half second clock drift per day when worn near the body."
i despise the fact that i had to get a source for this, it's absurd that any person on earth who owns a watch would hold this belief.
Y'know, I actually wanted to get one, but I noticed all the lowlifes around me started wearing them and I quickly decided against it.
You should probably do that too.
>in primary school
Or
>no taste, no class, no money, and autistic
pick one
It's called scuba diving with trimix. If you left your basement once in a while you might know something about anything.
All these retarded phone fags.
Nope. Give your skin a rest.
Stop posting. Go read one article about quartz vs mechancal
>Stop posting. Go read one article about quartz vs mechancal
How about YOU do some research on clock accuracy?
>quartz vs mechanical
When you become an adult one day and get a real job you'll realize that it isn't always appropriate or possible to use your cell phone (even if it appears you're just checking the time).
This. So much this.
>quartz
>1-2 seconds a week
Thanks for proving my point
yes
>being this much of a fucking retard.
Kill yourself, you fucking piece of shit.
You still haven't read my post properly which was regarding mechanical vs quartz (the two main movement types).
Also, a decent quartz watch is plenty accurate for anyone who isn't severely autistic.
That and some people don't always want to have their phone on them. I like to leave it in the car and go on a walk or do a few errands on foot occasionally, it is nice to know the time and my watch looks nice.
People that want to be attached to their cell phone 24/7 are potatoes.
>You still haven't read my post properly which was regarding mechanical vs quartz (the two main movement types).
Nobody even mentioned mechanical watches until you came in here and started sperging about them.
Reminder of the thread of posts:
>you just want to know the time, accurately (quartz)
>Quartz watches are not particularly accurate
>Uh.. the battery will die before it's off by a second, and it's a 10 year battery
After this, a bunch of evidence was cited that directly proves this ridiculous claim, and now you somehow try spinning the argument into being about quartz vs mechanical?
Stop fucking moving the goalposts you cringy piece of shit.
Also it's funny because high quality mechanical clockes *ARE* more accurate than quartz.
A good mechanical chronometer with a modern movement can easily achieve 10x the accuracy of quartz, and a pendulum clock can achieve 100x the accuracy of quartz.
Please, just die already, you fucking retarded piece of shit.
I can't believe people still use the one liner i invented 15 years ago.
the 105 has neanderthal brow case bevels, especially when side by side with the 91
10x the accuracy at 1000x the price, just so you don't need to set it back 1 minute every 6 months. Great deal!
>Moving the goalposts from accuracy to price
Let me see you keep trying to defend your bullshit claims while I continue to cite facts and scientific evidence.
Your watch seems to have slipped to the wrong side of your arm, user.
Also it's funny because if you want to get a stupidly accurate watch at a really low price, all you need to do is buy a radio-controlled or internet-synchronized cheap clock.
It doesn't matter how terrible your quartz is if you can keep fixing the deviation.
Rage harder faggot. I just made a comment and you didn't read it properly.
See
COSC is -4/+6 per day.
>Rage harder faggot. I just made a comment and you didn't read it properly.
All I see you is herping a derp about “quartz vs mechanical” in in response to a claim that quartz was not particularly accurate. And then you posted evidence to back my point. (That quartz drifts by multiple seconds per week)
I think you may be suffering from major brain damage.
i have the pink one lost in my car somewhere
here it beep once in a while
Yet another problem smartphones fix - being enough of a platform to use a timeserver.

Pic related, compare to Same source, same methodology, same reference device.
>accuses others of moving goalposts
>moves it himself
Kill yourself already, jesus fuck.
Provide a readily available watch mechanism that isn't quartz or mechanical.
Noice. Do any current models even come close to that?
