It really depends on the mood I'm in.
Typically if I really need to focus, I listen to some Bach or Beethoven.

Those threads always end up full of insecure faggots picking edgiest shit they listened to last year to impress other insecure faggots, and wait for (you)

Usually nothing, sometimes random spotify playlists without vocals.

I don't. I mine on OS runescape.

Lately Iron Maiden's first album, dunno why
Hip-hop (Outkast, Ini, Deltron 3030, Pharcyde)
Electronic (Aphex Twin, Helios)

Usually nothing, but other than that, anything without lyrics. NiN's instrumental stuff, memwave shit, video game OSTs.

3rd rock radio

i always listen to it

mah boy, this, lazerhawk and Kavinsky

Audio books if I'm dicking around in paperwork. If I need to focus or the office is noisy I may listen to my jazz Pandora station. Usually i listen to nothing.

I like the audio books. Allows me to shift my focus from the book to the work and back again. Also allows me to "read" books I wouldn't otherwise be able to read like A Song of Fire and Ice. Martin paints an insane amount of detail that isn't always relevant to the story. I shift away and then back when the dialog comes back and the guy who got 3 pages of details is killed a half a paragraph later.

Doujin music. New Alstroemeria Records is out.

Most music distracts me, but I found glam rock to be relatively non-distracting, so I put some David Bowie, T-Rex, Roxy Music, Lou Reed or Iggy Pop.
When I need a break, I put some energetic punk, like Mission of Burma or Bad Brains and dance around kmy basement
