I think it's pretty cool if you're living in the sticks.

Exactly what I'm interested in for my off the grid cabin I'm about to finish. I don't want any connections able to locate me.

Pretty excited about this.

Depending on your location and what bird you're connected to max bandwidth is something like 90kb/s or 1gb a day. It runs 24/7 so it constantly just gathers content until it completes a file.

I don't think you should be worried, I don't think they have a loli libraries available on the outernet

>one way internet
And how do you even request the data if it's only a one way connection?

Bampi

same way gps works u fuck head

what a fucking dumbshit u are

FUck you're DUMB

You're disgusting. I'm building a refuge not a pervert shack. I will read books and enjoy my woodworking hobby.

So it just constantly loops through all the data?

You don't have a choice in what you download that's the whole point of it being a curated library

there goes my interest

gps just locks on to clocks, it doesn't really request anything

I have free satellite tv that's pretty peachy

You don't have to request anything with this. It keeps sending data probably. Like a radio channel.

it's like a fm radio channel. You tune in and receive the datacasting instead of the audio

>not enjoying the funny and innocent yotsuba mangas

i will never forgive shindoL for that.
that shit was way out of line and he did it just to fuck with Sup Forums.

How does this differ from a cheaper, Realtek SDR solution? Would you be able to connect with one?

I would assume that it uses the current dvb-s technology available to satellite tv and data services alike. Checking specs on the birds they run on the Ku and C bands. You need at least a 70cm dish depending on your location for Ku band and a big fuck off dish for C band up to 2 meters. Ku runs at 12 Ghz so you need a LO to downconvert. The realtek sdr doesn't support dvb-s or frequencies more than 1800mhz

>upconverter
Just ordered the materials to make one. Hope it works.

Where are you finding the specs for the dish? I found wiki.outernet.is/wiki/Satellite_dish_guide but it's not really all that much information. I get that it would have to be positioned and mounted properly, but would it be possible to connect to this service with a DIY planar dish antenna?

>curated library

Yes, let's let some Jew-owned company control what people have the ability to see and hear.
