I have an illegitimate copy of Windows 7 on my PC. I want to legitimize it before Microsoft locks me out of my PC forever, but I don't want to shell out $130 for a real version of Windows 7. What other option is there??

Go to the closest computer lab / library and take a product key off the towers there. Install whatever version the key is and activate it with that one. Or if you don't want to reinstall I think you can use the upgrade Windows program in W7 to upgrade with the new key, then you have to call the automated support and activate it that way.

I don't find this an issue though I'll explain, though there is bullshit that I hate about Windows 10 such as their apps.

Windows 10 uses your system resources to collect data from you.
One ongoing problem that users don't want to upgrade to Windows 10 is because people feel that Microsoft aren't respecting the privacy of their users. There's bullshit in Windows 10 that some of here don't want and this is one of the issues.
