Those keycaps are a little overdone.

I'm looking to buy a TKL ISO DE keyboard with MX reds. I want to put Thick Cherry Caps on it, so the board must have Cherry Stabilizers.
The only board that fulfills these requirments seems to be the CM-Storm Rapid i. It looks pretty decent except for all the LEDs i don't need.

Does anyone know if it's possible for cherry key caps to hit the LEDs when bottoming out? If that's not the case I guess I can live with 88 unecessary LEDs...

Those keycaps scream "I'm so ironically cool"

Just bought a ducky shine 5. No idea what I'm doing. Are they alright?

Why would you do that to a perfectly fine Ducky Shine 4

Ducky's are good.

Logitech K120 aka the sub-20€ king

Get a fullsize in whatever ISO and some keycaps from corus-keyboards

Post a ranking of all the switches you have tried

MX Red > MX Brown > MX Blue >>>>>>>> MX Clear

Buckling spring > mx blues > mx reds >>>>>>>>>>>>> mx browns

TOPRE>Gateron brown>whatever else

Why does Sup Forums hate browns so much???

How bad are Blacks for typing speed?

scratchy, gritty, not really tactile
might as well buy reds

Let's see

Topre > Gateron Clears = MX Clears > Blacks = Reds > MX Green > Dampened Cream Alps > Zealios > MX Blue > Shit on a stick > Nothing but Shit > Browns

They're the least tactile cherry. Get linears or get blues or clears.

Just like any other switch.

I forgot to add

Gateron linears > cherry linears

They are the worst feeling switch and they have no place. They act as poor linear switches and poor mechanical switches while trying to be both

...

what do you think about this wrist rest

Holy shit that looks like a cancer

JUST

might be a little short

I sure hope you don't intend to spend more than 15 bucks for that piece of wood.

help I think I'm going to sell my novatouch and get browns or some shit because the novatouch doesn't just give you force free typing

I hate having to press down when I type

massdrop.com/buy/npkc-wooden-wrist-rests

45g Topre is already quite light, but I guess you could get something with gateron clears if you want something even lighter.

Is the HHKB very different from a Realforce?

At the moment I use a 60% Filco at work and a 100% at home with mx browns but want to switch to Topre.

What do you think I can get for a used NT?

realforce are metal plate mounted, and the HHKB has the switches molded into the abs case

it gives a different feel, and most people say it feels better

Holy shit it keeps happening. The keycaps are really nice, but why the fuck are they so brittle. Is it because of my mx clears? I almost don't want to buy any pbt anymore.

>Is it because of my mx clears?
yeahp
they fit super tight for no good reason

but gateron caps are also know for being shit, which sucks, because pbt cherry profile is a great idea

Thanks, guess I'll buy a HHKB first and see if I like Topre, also the layout seems interesting to use. Do you know a good place to buy them in EU?

>Do you know a good place to buy them in EU?
amazon?

are these from the "Blank PBT Keycaps" massdrop?

They are the same ones, but I didn't get them from massdrop.

For typing speed and comfort; Outemu Blacks vs Blues vs Browns vs Gateron Brown vs Blacks?
Gaterons cost $25 more than the Outemu though, I just want a keyboard that I can type fast comfortably on

Any idea what type of adhesive I should use to glue the cracks back together? Would PVC cement work?

Is this how the japs work for 20 hours a day

I'm gonna buy a pok3r from amazon de. Any way to get it cheaper in the EU?

He actually draws everyday for 14 hours on stream and I've got gigabytes of them recorded, he's god damn incredible and pretty much the best Manga artist still drawing

Source?

Is it hentai or just normal manga?

did a google search and it looks like pron to me

but no results for image search on sad panda and I can't read moon from google

>space key

>least tactile cherry
>not reds

Amongst the tactile cherry switches obviously

It's not porn, just a lot of teasing

I still can't find this shit with google

MX Blue > MX Clear > MX Green > Novatouch Topre > new 4mm travel membrane > MX Brown > new chiclet > MX Black > MX Red

If they made a quiet switch that felt exactly like a blue, I'd pick that shit up instantly.

>a lot of teasing
And now you're doing a lot of teasing by not telling us the name.

matias quiet click

i'm thinking of buying a G80-3000 with blacks, desolder all the switches and replace them with gateron reds or mx reds and backplate-mod it. is this a retarded idea?

Who /reds/ here?
Maximum comfy

Any pok3r owners here? Do you also accidentaly tap on alt+space which fucks up your bindings? Can that be somehow turned off?

I think it's Tsugumono, written by Hamada Yoshizaku.

I really wish I could read Moon.

I just get this sci-fi manga with that

Goddammit just tell us user

Tried them all, blue is best for me, then red, then clear.

myanimelist.net/manga/14369/Tsugumomo

I'm not the user who posted it, but I think that's correct. Kukuri has the same name and appearance as the girl from the first image.

i'm in love with these cherry dyesubs... i dont even use them but dont want to sell them either.

google reverse image search -> Tsugumomo

fucking lmao dude

I said fuck mechanicals and bought this rubber dome K40.

First thing I noticed was the brightness of the LEDs was MUCH better than the brightness of the mechanical k70. Look at the picture. The K70s will blind you, but the K40's LEDs are purely and beautifully functional. They'll let you see the keys in the dark without blinding or distracting you or lighting up your ceiling.

It's also quieter, and I can rest my thumb on the space bar without setting it off every 2 seconds.

Get fucked, mech noobs.

>I bought a piece of shit and was dissatisfied with it hence all mechs are bad and suck

good job user

update your firmware

anyone know of a keyboard that is extremely easy to clean?

...

chiclet keyboard

It's just flavor of the moment, come back in half a year and everyone will shit on reds and blues

There's those dishwasher proof ones. They're not mechanical, but hey, you can toss them in your fucking dishwasher and be done with it.

those keys look like they are a huge pain to remove and put back in

Where do I get leopold 660M keycaps sets
Fuck this spacebar and right shift.

is this a good deal?

ncixus.com/products/?sku=102542

That's a good enough deal for a Ducky Shine 4, but you should get it with clears (or get the newer Shine 5 if you really want browns).

On the note of which, I have a Shine 4 with Clears that I've been looking to sell if you're interested.

Wow, they fixed it just a month ago. Nice

Do Mx Blacks and Reds have the same stem?

Pretty much, it's just a difference in the weighting of the spring.

The fact that the number row is made of Mahjong tiles yet doesn't use the character suit triggers me. Because it'd be actually kinda neat to have a Mahjong themed key-set if it was done right.

Get reds if you type softly

wtf user how are you not finding this
yes it's Tsugumomo
yes there's translations

I am jealous of his passion and work ethic

but i am not impressed by his work

imgur.com/a/11NWj

is 2kro enough if you dont gayme at all?

You don't need to type slowly with reds. You just need o-rings.

The art is pretty great, he's an /ic/ fav

I've had people tell me that they have no problems playing FPS on Model M's with 2KRO, so I'm quite sure you'll have no problem with typing.

Mind if I ask what about the art it is that's so great?

There may be something I'm missing, but judging from what I've seen posted here the art doesn't look all to special to me. It's good, but I could pull a number of things from my shelf right now that would be at least as good if not better in terms of art.

I've decided to get my first mechanical keyboard, but I'm not sure about the switch. Main uses would be shitposting and programming, also games, but not that often. I don't want something too noisy or too heavy, what do you guys suggest?

What's a good PBT set for quickfire rapid?

Reds.

It's between reds and browns.

But mechs are overhyped, dude. When you get yours I guarantee you the first thing you'll notice is that you can't rest your thumb on the space bar anymore. Otherwise, your typing w il l lo ok lik e th is.

Reds are noisy because they bottom out so easily. If you get reds, get o-rings to make them quieter.

Stop typing like an ogre / stop buying pussy-ass switches
One of the reasons people say mechanicals are a meme is that they are hyped with promises of superior tactility and they get some shit with reds or browns
Buy a switch tester.

Topre 55g > Topre 45g > MX Blue > MX Clear >> MX Brown = MX Red

>hyped with promises of superior tactility
>reds or browns

Literally what the fuck? You've just described the entire spectrum of mechanical switch feelings. Blacks are just slightly stiffer reds and blues feel the same as browns, what extra tactility is there to be had outside of those two switch types?

>blues feel the same as browns
You don't have any idea what you're talking about.

>muh autistic blue switches to wake up the entire house

rofl xD

>blues feel the same as browns
kek

>what extra tactility is there to be had outside of those two switch types?
Topre and Matias Quiet Click. Don't EVER use Cherry MX if you want tactile switches. Clears or ergo clears are acceptable, but clears are heavy and ergo clears require modding.

Im gonna say i win this thread.
>Why, you conceited fuck?
I use an old ps2 gateway 2000 keyboard.

are cherry mx switches bad?

>Topre and Matias Quiet Click

Right, but we're trying to buy a useful keyboard, not a novelty item, you stupid autist.

No, but they haven't made a good light tactile switch yet.

No, they're just inherently linear. They're fine if you love linear switches, but their (quiet) tactile switches are still inherently linear.

I love blues though (when I'm not annoyed by the clicks).

Now I regret my zealios purchase :(

Why?
