okay, so the "best game builds" has Witcher 3 as the most demanding but a 750 Ti will run it at max 900p 30+FPS stable
however according to the main list of parts and PC tiers the lowest that even has a solid Star (meaning it can run max 900p) is the tier with a R9 380X
the ones with a 960 or 950 only have half a star which according to description is "lower resolutions and low settings" which i assume to mean 720p but then also low quality settings
so question, is this a valid breakdown, or is Crysis 3 just optimized bullshit?
will the 750 Ti run every AAA game easily near max and stable 30+ FPS at 720-900p and others at 1080p?
cant ask on LI cause they make you sign into a NSA account and even if you choose to login with G+ or others it then just tells you to still create a Disqus account after granting them NSAccess to your other account anyways
Jason Evans
>will the 750 Ti run every AAA game easily near max and stable 30+ FPS at 720-900p and others at 1080p? Nooooo.
William Richardson
why not?
they literally show it can run W3 at 1080p and get 15-20FPS and when you drill into the actual article about the game itself shows the 30+FPS tiers which have the 750 TI
and i should note my CPU is actually the i3-4170 which is about equal to the i3-6100 which is the CPU in that Superb tier
waiting to get an extra $50 for the 950 wouldn't be a big deal but if i could get by with lower heat output and wattage with the 750 Ti and cheaper, i would
Jonathan Morris
>2 generations behind >about equal
Connor Gutierrez
>2 generations
the fucking 4170 just came out last year you cuck and the 6100 is only marginally better on cpuworld, its only draw for a NEW BUILD is being around the same price and lower TDW

Parker Peterson
>will the 750 Ti run every AAA game easily near max and stable 30+ FPS at 720-900p and others at 1080p? Not a snowball's chance in hell. You would be able to run a lot of AAA games on low/medium at 720p for 30+ FPS and older games at 1080p or medium/high 720p.
~10% difference nigga. CPUs haven't done shit but power/thermal efficiency for a while now.

Look at the file size.
Nolan Ross
okay, well will the new GTX 10xx's push the price of the 950 down?
Daniel Edwards
i could compress JPG down to about 50% in gimp and see no quality difference, i just keep it at 100% cause i use an actual PC and network connection, not my fucking fone
and Opera Mini / w/ VPN will compress it anways
Owen Kelly
and actually that was a snippit capture which doesnt give you options for quality, so blame MS
Anthony Garcia
>so blame MS Is that your excuse for everything? Do you blame microsoft when your cockporn gets burnt?
Sebastian Foster
why would my cockporn get burned?
it streams without issue every day
Jack Hernandez
No, but the RX 480 will. It's already started. Everything below the 980Ti is dropping, and will continue to do so.
David Gray
I have a R9 270x that can run Alien at 1440p fine. That was the last AAA title ive purchased. The most demanding game I play on a regular basis is WoT which I play on max everything at 40-60fps. So anything around or better than the 270x should be plenty for you.
Christian Bell
is the 950 still going to be the best performance to wattage even with a price drop?
or would the 960 or 970 (assuming it drops to 150) be better
Cameron Brooks
The crystal ball is hazy, ask again later.
Xavier Perez
Just buy the R9 480 for 200 bucks. Or wait for Nvidias answer and hope the GTX 1060 will life up to the good times of the price/performance monster the GTX 560 Ti was.
Eli Nelson
Beat ya ;^)
Nathan King
what is this R9 480?
none of LI's teirs list it, if it was actually logical it would
so what gives
and are you basing it on some Ebay bullshit that got lucky to find it cheap, or is the MSRP and performance to wattage actually "logical"
Connor Morales
It's not out yet, coming out on the 19th. Halfway between 980 and 980Ti performance for 199 USD at 100 watts.
James Thompson
isnt the AMD cards driver support not that great tho?
id prefer to pay a bit more for nvidia for that
Easton Hill
>30+FPS stable jesus christ
Nicholas Miller
your point?
been perfectly fine with most games performance on the 360 and now the PS4 which isnt even always a solid 30
point being, LI states performance based on 1080p 60, which means running at 30 without stuttering should be easier, as well as lower resolution like 900 or 720
Jaxon Thompson
my point is that 100 should be the minimum
Ethan Anderson
You are dumb as fuck if you think the prices are dropping because of an irrelevant mainstream AMD card.
Tyler Martin
>Building a computer for games Kek Just buy a console, don't be a gamercuck
Matthew Cooper
>implying building a computer is hard
also why would i buy a shitty console (computer) with shit controls, low framerate, shit os?
Camden Evans
i already have the Xbone and PS4, i just need a GPU to compliment my every day driver PC
but i dont need 1080p 60 which is why the point of this thread is relevant
if the 750 Ti can run Witcher 3 at 30FPS at 900p i dont see how it wouldnt run it and everything else at 720p max
Jordan Rodriguez
Avoid AMD until they make actual drivers
Easton Anderson
...
Kevin Walker
>a thread needed for a "hot fix"
meanwhile the nvidia drivers just werk
Evan Foster
NoVideo's 364.72 literally bricked a bunch of XFX 970s. Werk it harder.
Anthony Hall
>an update that only affected a memebranded GPU >every other brand which merely adds aftermarket cooling to the reference had on issue
>vs taking months for updates to makes games somewhat stable
