My gf and both our families use vanilla Debian because it means less shit for me to fix. I'm not sure why people say Windows is more stable. I get half as many dumbass calls now than I dud with Debian. And now most issues can be fixed via SSH.

It's more stable in everyday use. No random .exe downloads and no mandatory reboots for menial updates. You can argue all you want, but Debian has been objectively better over the last year on all 8 computers that I manage. The only work around I've had to do is installing rockbox on one ipod to avoid iTunes.

I use Linux and get laid regularly. Why would that even fucking come into the equation?

You aren't right. Our families hold a wide spectrum of positions in society and none have very intensive computer needs.

The vast majority of people only need an office suite and a web browser. The Adobe suite is probably the only reason to use Windows as an adult, though it could easily be used in a VM.

I do security consulting. I have a better understanding of Linux than Windows, so its easier to harden them. A guest account does very little to actually harden the system.

Windows also doesn't have SSH, so I'd have to drive across town everytime someone needs help.
