MITX cases

Sell me on your mITX case of choice. I've decided to downsize as I travel quite a bit.

I am planning on getting the RX 480 if AMD isn't lying about the power consumption. So it would need to fit that.

I currently have a CM Hyper 212+, but can go to a stock or low profile cooler if necessary to fit case. I don't OC my CPU at all anymore really.

No expansion card slots, just a PCIe16. Cute.

>Those dimensions
That case is huge for a mitx build, user.

Exactly. I'm going from a SG09 (23L) so I'm thinking something like the the SG13 or SG05. I've never worked with a case that small so was looking for recommendations on cases that can hold a RX 480 sized card.

>mITX
Why? Just buy an XBox or PS4.

ncase

Have them, but I game mostly on my PC and travel a lot, typically in hotel mon-thur every week. My monitor is easy to take with me since I can just wrap it in a towel and put it in my suitcase. My PC is another story due to it's shape.

Vita

I recently just built one with a Thermal take Core v1. It's great.

How hard is it with cable management?

die

I used the Silverstone Raven RVZ02B latest build, brought it with me on business trips and vacations, fits in a regular sized suitcase well. I tried to use a Corsair Graphite 380 T, but it was a bit too big for my needs. The rvz02b fits cards up to 11", but it requires one of those special sized PSUs. Cable management is a bit of a hassle too, but it's going to be if you're going with smaller cases.

Because I can't put a M.2, 6700K, and a 1080 in an xbone

I have this case. It has bad GPU airflow. It's placed too close to the PSU on the bottom. It will not fit 2.5 slot cards.

>power and reset buttons so close to ports

Say the RX 480 consumes as much power as AMD says, what sort of SFX PSU can I get away with. I also have a 3570k.

I'm currently looking at SFX only cases, but am curious as to what the smallest case is that can fit an ATX PSU and full sized GPU.

A high quality 450W PSU is enough for a system with a GTX 980, so I guess you can make do with less for an RX 480. But finding a high quality powersupply less powerful than 450W might be tricky.

The Seasonic G-360 maybe, but I don't know if that's enough to power the entire system. Works well enough in my server at least.

M350.
It's small.
No, you don't need a video.

I have the SG13, it's nice, just very cheap. I'm actually upgrading to the node 304 for better airflow and better cpu cooling options.

the ncase m1, pictured left in comparison with the bitfenix prodigy

real nice case for mini-itx, definitely might pick one up for my end of year build

If you travel, get a laptop.

...

Can I get 1440p/60-90fps performance from a laptop at around $700?

Node 304 was my second choice after the SG09, but those are in the 20L range. I decided at the time to just go mATX since the SG09 was already pretty small. I'm looking to go down to around 11-12L if I can. I'm willing to buy a SFX PSU to facilitate it. Eventually I plan to upgrade the CPU and mobo, but for at least a year I am going to stick with my 3570k and whatever mITX LGA 1155 mobo I can find. Likely will have to settle for an H61 board, but I don't OC anyway really.

Not that bad. Since there's not a lot going on in there, it wasn't so bad. Plus, a fully modular PSU helped. Most of the cables are tucked out of sight in the bottom half of the case.

I ordered a Fractal Define Nano, it's due to arrive within the next few hours so maybe pics.

Go smaller.

The production A4 is a bit bigger than shown in that image: 200 x 112 x 317mm

My Define Nano S arrived, its looking pretty sweet.

That's what I was thinking but others say it's much harder to deal with.

I'm pretty keen on the rvz02 and the node 202, I really like that form factor, ncase is probably the best case for regular components tho

I have one and it pretty good, BUT please check if your graphics cards fits qua there is a problem with 1000 series from nvidea as they are wider and the 6/8 pins will fuck you over so you can't close your case

that's an unfair comparison as the fucking prodigy is a monster of a case.

Thoughts on the Corsair 250D?

Corsair needs to fire whoever decided it was a good idea to make these horrible fake perspective shots.

I wasn't asking about the photography techniques you nigglet

*EDD!!!!!*

eh

It is a case.
It is rather small.
It has a nice aesthetic.
Based on experience with Corsair cases, it's probably quite nice to build a PC in.

I bought a InWin 901 for 170€ today
Gonna put a raging 1080 in there

No

I made a poor choice in CPU cooler.

>Waah I don't want to see my disgusting cable management!

Luckily I can bodge.

Took the fan mounting bracket off, stuck the rubber grommets from the AMD mounting kit to the fan and zip tied through the heatsink fins.

Probably the cleanest looking build I have done. Still need to purchase a graphics card for it and another SSD though.

This is why your mother tried to abort you

Silverstone FT03 Mini master case

Do you literally have two fans stacked on top of each other or is that picture playing tricks on my eyes ?

Reflection of the 120mm fan on the mounting bracket which can fit a 140mm fan.

And that mounting bracket is in contact with the rear case grill, while the motherboard screw holes were almost half a cm away from their standoffs.

Is this an mATX in the Nano S?

Ruined by the 5.5'' drive bay

heil

but it does matter. See the physical difference in the bullshot versus the actual computer case? It's obviously square, but the other picture makes it look ob longed and retarded, thus manipulating what the user sees

There's a single PCI-e slot. What do you think?

I am building a 125 cm high system.
This means I cant take every graphiccard. The strongest would be the amd nano or a gtx 960.
The gtx 960 will be good enough for trips.

The case I will build myself, so that the thing has just the right size with as less tolarance as posible.
240 x 125 x 17

node 202
everyone should know this. 90 degree pcie is the future

They need to make it so that you can open up and close the middle cable hole. Not enough clearance for AIO cooler blocks to fit through.

this is like watching a midget with 12 inch dong

watercooling is a retarded meme that needs to die
>still has fan noise
>extra pump noise
>inevitable leaks
>pump just stops working for no reason

>but muh 5-10 celsius difference
nigger, please take a bullet
just use a proper low-profile air cooler and get a decently gpu model with proper cooling

also please tell me that you're not OP and you actually want to travel with a fucking watercooler inside your case. this must be a troll, otherwise you're just retarded

watercooling actually did die off for a while some time ago but then nvidia released fermi and the nvidiot mouthbreathers resurrected it

In this case, you might want something better than a low profile or topdown cooler.

caselabs dude... caselabs.

caselabs-store.com/bullet-series-cases/

op didn't say what cpu he has and i'm pretty sure there's nothing for mitx that can't be cooled well and quietly with a pretty good low-profile cooler on full cpu load

stop posting huge mitx cases, you idiots. can't you read the thread? actually, op's faul for not posting this requirement in his initial post

if only people were aware of how shit their preferences are...

if this is your option i rather go mATX instead

lian-li has options similar to the fractal node 202, with the same 90 degree pcie thing, but for mitx, matx and even atx

lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-o6s/

there's also this mitx mac pro-like trashcan design, and a tiny stand-type case

arstechnica.co.uk/gadgets/2016/05/mac-pro-pc-case-cryorig-ola-taku/

i'd use any one of those

just get a mac mini

I want a PC with actual performance though.

get a PS4 then

I want a PC though.

fucking homosexual

fucking peasant

You're going to find out pretty quickly that those dimensions will need an extra 5-10mm, at least, to actually work in reality.

OP here. I don't even OC my CPU and plan to go stock cooler or low profile.

That node 202 does look nice. How sturdy is the PCIe extender/connector? I'd be putting this in a bag/suitcase and then driving 70+ miles. I've been taking my GPU out before I drive now since in the SG09 the GPU hangs like in a normal tower.

post your build.

Will this be the ultimate travel case?

I wonder why bitfenix made the prodigy SO BIG. the vertical extra space is bonkers.

Forgot pic

dat brushed metal though. I wished companies would stop doing that.

see

ATX PSU and full size CPU cooler support, mostly.

Model #?

...

Slight problem. The only ITX LGA 1155 mobo I can find is the Asus P8H61-I. Same pic as OP. The CPU placement is right next to the GPU and the 4 pin connector on the other side so I won't have much/any room for a cooler. Even some of the low profile ones I've found extend past the screw holes a bit.

At this point I'm leaning toward the Node 202. One of the smallest cases (~10L) and horizontal so it would be easy to store in a suitcase.

Can anyone recommend low profile cooler that would fit this board? Am I limited to a stock intel cooler?

I don't recommend this cooler due to its sheer size (probably won't fit the case you're looking at) But you can see on the RAM side the heat pipes come up within the mounting holes and you can rotate it to mount upward if you want.

It's a GeminII S524. Perhaps they have some similar design coolers that aren't as tall or you could put a slim fan on it to fit. Something to think about.

its a new itx case from Xigmatek that was shown at computex. Looks promising. Has a handle and a removable frame for easy building.

I wonder who actually makes these cases as they have been sold branded as Raidmax and AZZA.

Even has a nice little blank area for the logo of "insert your company name here".

Anyways, it's a bit big for a travel size ITX case. If I was traveling with my PC I'd want to cushion it between some clothes/towels in my suitcase instead.

What are the best extremely small cases, like mac mini or intel nuc case size?
