Yes OP, we get it... You're pissed off about how bad Microsoft has made Windows look with the spying, the underhanded and even un-commanded updates to 10, but we're not falling for your Linux FUD threads. When you post 5 of them every day they get pretty tiresome to look at.
This never happened :^)

This is not a contradiction.
Due to linux's open nature, EVERY problem is your own damn fault.
You might want to work on learning to control your emotions and not throw tantrums like a little child.
if you're too lazy to download and run a script, linux is just not for you. not even memeing.
Why do lincux defend an OS where things stop working with regularity? Sure windows isn't perfect but if you compare how often you have to troubleshoot an issue in Windows vs how often in Linux, it's hard to understand why am average user would choose Linux.
They bring said I can understand using Linux if you have very specialized needs where you would be writing the program anyway.

Well.. if you know how to use linkux it's pretty straight forward, I've only had to troubleshoot a couple of times..
The last problem I had was installing and getting the installation to recognize my 980ti as a gpu.. Solving this took me 15 minutes, literally had to install a never version of the driver that's all..
>but user Windows is so perfect
Shut the hell up sperglord, enjoy your bsod and maxing out your ram running nothing but your task manager and chrome.
I have given Linux more than enough chances but it just ends up being more headache than it's worth. I'm all for free and open source software but to a certain extent its just not worth it.
If you value your time, just buy it windows. Then try Linux for shits and giggles.
When it comes to servers that's a different story. Then again let someone else set up the server for you.
Doom 3 is all you need, especially if you want to get into programming. Have you noticed how nice the source code is? Wew
The code is nice, yes. But UE4's code is even nicer, and actually suitable for real-world use.
Though the DOOM 3 engine / idTech source code is still great for learning how to write good code.
Why is it that these "Linux is shit because of my made up experiences" threads flare up EVERY time Microsoft fucks up or does something underhanded? Are the Microshills spilling over from Sup Forums really THAT insecure?
Thanks for the tip, I will check it out. Thrilled, actually.
its literally your own fault you cant make it work. linux isnt MEANT to cater to your needs like windows, you retard.

You were already a failure
I'd like to know which distro this happened with. All the mainstream versions I've used had it work right off the rip. Arch was the only one I've used where is not done for you, but you're missing the point if that upsets you. Not everyone needs audio when they look to install something basic like Arch
Except it's true that Windows requires less of a time investment.
OP won't reply to this because it didn't actually happen. These threads are just butthurt gaymurkids from Sup Forums trying to spread FUD on Linux to boost their ego.
Do i smell mutilated cocks?
so what you're saying is people choose to use these shitty OS's just to give themselves more trouble so they can brag about it on anonymous imageboards
gotcha
Linux is the only OS that needs constant babby sitting. It's like a retarded child, It can't do anything on it's own without the user there to babby it's terminal every 5 minutes.
Unless you're using a hobbyist distro like Arch this is debatable. The only real increase in time spent with beginner friendly distros like Ubuntu comes from just learning a new OS, which is something that applies to any OS if you're not familiar with it already.
>install Ubuntu
>everything works right after installation
Nope, just retarded kiddies from Sup Forums being clueless about the OS.
Yes, the same way Windows BSOD's every 5 minutes and has to be re-installed once a week because of all the malware.
>Yes, the same way Windows BSOD's every 5 minutes and has to be re-installed once a week because of all the malware.
this is literally not true and you must be doing something seriously wrong and retarded to have this happen
That was exactly my experience both on my X220 and on my desktop.
Actually curious, what is the exe equivalent of gnu linux? Like all ive used so far is apt get install
>this is literally not true and you must be doing something seriously wrong and retarded to have this happen
It's just as true as your claim of needing to babysit the terminal.
Not really. It depends on a lot of things.
If you're completely incompetent at using computers, then it's possible under some circumstances you could run into an issue that requires time to solve given your incompetence. Then again, I've had to explain to some Windows users things to fix some problems they had or even just to install software that requires you to do next to nothing. At the same time, many computer illiterates run Linux systems just fine. Once they have it set up, it's smooth sailing. In any case, you don't have to use a Linux system if you don't waot to, but don't pretend it's primarily because your time is oh so valuable. It's because you're an incompetent manchild.

Enjoy your shitty century-old file system, mysterious cruft buildup that forces you to reinstall the os every 2 years, as well as absolutely zero system logs.
Yeah, nah.
Anything with executable permission. Unix does not require a specific file type for executables. There are MIME types for that

There's multiple types of installers/package formats like .deb and .rpm.
>le windows needs le format every week maymay
literally never happens. ever since xp only time I had to reinstall my system was that one time my hdd crashed.
None of that is true. Fuck off lincuck.
>I got rid of Unity and I installed i3 so i can pretend that im still a hacker
Exe is part of filename, an extension.
An installer is a program that installs something. There are installers in linux and they can have various forms. There are distro specific package files that are the closest to classical windows installers. But they are standardized and works in the same way in given distro.
But there are also distro independent installers. Commonly as shell scripts that download and install files. Sometimes they even have all binary files included inside of them.
Loonix is a special snowflake OS, and you can't make this up.
If you're talking about installers, .deb or .rpm or whatever your distro uses.
>Using debian for daily use
>Complain about it
Jesus... For some people just the ability fuck up is too much.
>this guy
what kind of non autist needs a different "file system" or system logs at all
if you're into pretending to be a super computer geek and having to input 50 lines into a terminal to open your web browser thats cool, just dont expect everyone else to have the same levels of autism
Same experience here. After waiting like 2 hours for windows to update, had to manually install a package that would fix the update loop. I still had to wait like 2 hours to update completely. Where as on Linux, sudo pacman -Syu, done.
*woosh!!*
That was the sound of the point flying right over your little Sup Forums kiddie head...
Seriously thou, the whole "you need to babysit linux all the time trough the terminal" bullshit is just as true as the constant re-installs and BSOD's on windows.
But why did you choose distro designed for servers as desktop OS without having good knowledge about about what are you doing?
>be me
>install OSX
>push buttons
>they work
wow kill yourself
>>go to twitch to watch stream
>>stream doesn't work
So you didn't have Flash installed and a Flash web app didn't work. Holy shit. Must be the operating system's fault.
Had the same thing happen a couple of weeks ago. God I was pissed off when I found out about the single package install and how much it sped things up. This type of thing should be expected maybe if you're installing a Windows 7 image from release, not when you're installing an SP1 image. I've made god knows how many installs off an old Ubuntu 12.04 image, but every time it feels like I'm installing a brand new image when compared to installing Windows images of the same age.
Why are you on a tech board if you hate tech so much you see system logs and file systems as trivial rubbish of no consequence?
This is the level of ineptitude people complaining about Linux being shit ALWAYS show... Then they always complain about how Linux users are elitist and just blaming problems in the OS on users.
You just press ctrl x e and paste the hole fucking lot in one go.
>if you can't trust the internet, who can you trust?
I had to reinstall Vista three times within 12 months after I got a new Logitech mouse. The system completely messed itself up and couldn't be salvaged through system restore or by any other means. Nothing of note ever happened before the system broke. The next time you turned on the computer, it was fucked for no apparent reason. The only thing that changed was replacing a broken Microsoft mouse with some ordinary Logitech mouse. Wew lad.
Yes, currently im thinking on some distro which respects the user and not spitting on it every time.
I wanted to try why everyone says that arch or gentoo is for the developers, but in fact these are for users whose dont have anything else to do in life.
Wow, you sure convinced me with your harsh words instead of any actual evidence disproving my claims.
Off self.
Debian, it werks. Seven years on a C2Duo and still going strong. Deal with it you fucking retard.

They are retarded
Same happened here, looks like Microsoft crippled W7 update servers.
>maxing out one cpu core
My Pentium dual core just cried.
How is it different to run tf2 with wine on mac vs tf2 with wine on gnu?
tf2 works perfectly for me on GNU/linux, what's wrong with yours?
well nothing really, but all my tiling managers freaked out on full-screen programs, when both natively and in wine. And wine programs often broke when automatically resized to 50%/25%/10% of screen, especially tf2.
You are a computer literate manchild who lives in your mom basement and can't make the shit up.
