Applel drones will defend this.

Why would you need more than one port on a laptop? If I needed to do something that required a use of peripherals, I would use my proper desktop.

user, the point of a laptop is to be a portable desktop. If something needs a shitload of computing power, obviously you should use a desktop, but otherwise, a laptop should be able to do most tasks a desktop can do, including, for example, having multiple flash drives plugged in. Otherwise you just have an overpriced tablet.

Why would I plug in flash drives? I have all my files synced on my ownCloud server.

>metallic royal blue with gold highlights

Sold.

>I have all my files...
Yes, but what about other people's files? And what if you need to access those files when you don't have access to the Internet?

>other people's files
They upload it on some cloud service, and send me a link. Have you ever had any contact with people outside your mom's basement since 2005?
>don't have access to the Internet
All my files except for media are synced. They will already be stored locally.

The SINGLE PORT thing ended up being just as much of a non-issue for me as I expected. For what it's worth I'd also call it worth considering to take the screen and battery hit for the sake of a better processor.

I'd like to plug in an 8TB drive when I travel with my laptop so it's an issue for me.

Here you go you fucking faggot.

I want to charge my laptop without having to unplug my mouse

Buy a splitter

You replied to a post talking about using a desktop for peripherals.

>I have never heard of bluetooth
Now you're going to tell me you need a wired mouse for muh latency because you're a 1337 FPS player.

there is not such things as an asus drone.
people that buy asus will buy whatever is better.

This is how people who have never used a MacBook trackpad speak.

huh...

seems pretty comfy doe

Do not reply to obvious b&

> I wouldn't use this function, ergo, NOBODY should ever use this function
You people are the worst.

2 rupees have been deposited in your shit wiping hands Pajeet.

>I use this function, therefore EVERYONE has to use this function. If you don't use it something is wrong with you, and you are living your life incorrectly.

Not what I'm saying, dumbshit. It's better for the company to simply whack a function into the laptop for the people that do use it, rather than lose the sales because they laptop doesn't have it. You don't want to use it? Then don't. E-Z.

'Waaaah I want a super thin laptop with only one port and thermal throttling'? Get a Macbook Air, that has both.

Most normal people don't wanna buy adapters simply so they can use a USB and charge their laptop at the same time.

>you have to buy an accessory cable to maintain the basic functionality of your $1000 computer
>macfags will actually defend this

Most normal people don't fucking use USB drives. And the original posts were
>wahahahahaha muh one port why would anyone ever get this shit
and I just explained why I PERSONALLY don't give a fuck about USB ports.

> Most normal people don't fucking use USB drives
They really do, dude. I don't know where you're getting your information from, but USB drives are still very widespread. Even if the smaller flash drives aren't, USB external hard drives certainly are. Not everywhere has fast enough internet to be able to reliably get away with storing everything on the cloud, and many more people simply don't want to. Good on you for being able to, but even in America, you're in the minority. Most because the older generation STILL don't get 'this new-fangled cloud'

Bingo.

>Why would you need more than one port on a laptop?
Wireless Mouse + External HDD/USB Drive

NAS/cloud storage

Built in bluetooth for the mouse

external display, power, connecting to your phone, external hard drives, connecting to a wired network.

You can't reason with people like this. To them, everything must be wireless at all times, even the things that aren't.

>Why would you need more than one port on a laptop?
merchant, the post

External display powers the laptop through the cable
Since we're mainly talking about one port Macbooks here you connect the phone wirelessly anyway
Cloud
Wired network on a laptop? Ok Grandpa

> Three ports? Who said anything about two ports? Why would ANYONE ever need anything more than one port?

I bought the UX305LA.

I used to be an Asus shill until i tried a thinkpad at college. Now i really want one, but im stuck with my shitty asus, that already has 2 dead pixels.

worse battery life? sure man

how's that core m working out for ya

Both of these computers are fanless and if you buy them for anything that requires more than a core m, you're retarded. These computers are for the niche that's OK with sacrificing 90% of their performance for absolute maximum portability.

>go home, using laptop outside, battery low
>want to plug in hard disk
>should I charge the laptop or use my hard disk? I can only do one
>wait 2 hours for laptop to charge before I can use the hard disk

It says SNSV on the picture, what is Asus?

I've been in need of more than one port once in close to a year now but then i realized this is why i use cloud storage and uploaded my files to the cloud.

Here you go, downie

You just sit there with a hard disk hanging out of your laptop for extended periods of time?

Oh, so I need more than 1 port now?
Changing the goalpost?
Whatever happen to "I only need 1 port"?

BTFO
T
F
O

My hard disk is connected to my NAS. I can just grab the files from there.

My mouse doesn't have bluetooth.

too risky

Oh wow, some technology that I don't like. Its a good thing I'm not going to buy it.

>Wired network on a laptop? Ok Grandpa

You've obviously never been to a university library. Even with 50 APs, you're not going to be able to get a stable connection. Furthermore, you've probably never tasted the full speed of a Gigabit connection. Stay pleb with your shitty wifi that drops packages like your mom drops on this dick.

Zenbook 3, QHD+ screen, i7, 8gb ram and intel520 graphics.

Stomps every macbook in to the trash, for a few hundred bucks less, where it belongs anyway

Macfag here, the 12 inch macbook is fucking trash. Especially when you can get a 13 inch macbook pro for the same price. Don't get the macbook pls, let Apple know we want more than 1 port, at least 2 USB ports should be minimum.

What the fuck are you talking about, that was my first post in the thread

>we

?

"We" as in anyone with a brain.

Who cares?

>Two USB-C Ports
>Better display than Macbook
Why use Apple or Asus when you have HP?

Because some people don't want horrendous build quality, support, trackpads etc

>>HP
I'd rather kill myself

Have others than Google and Apple started making laptops that charge through USB-C now? That'd be about jolly time.

this
I don't even need a new laptop but I want one of these because of the paint job

>ASUS drone
I don't think I've ever heard of a hardcore ASUS fan, who are trying to trigger?

>Not knowing the difference between EliteBooks and pavilion
Every manufacturer has terrible consumer shit. This is an enterprise class notebook.

files that are larger than the online service allows. or possibly lots of small files. not going to sit there and click on links all day when you could have transferred via flash drive. too time consuming for you and the person giving you the files.

kek, i thought technology was supposed to get better over time
my 2008 laptop has 3 usb ports

What files are larger than what online services allow? If it's videos, then I can stream it while downloading. Also how is clicking a fucking link to a tar file more time consuming than fumbling around with outdated sticks?

Your laptop has USB 1.1 ports you chimpanzee

You're such a fucking moron lmfao

I found something more your speed.
