unix and c have retarded computer science by 30 years.

Yes.

Linux by 40

is this supposed to imply that windows is better because it's unorganized?
how does anyone find anything

>because it's unorganized
gr8 b8 m8

>ignoring the giant clusterfuck hidden underneath the Users and Windows directories

>leaves out the Program Files(x86) folder

Having all the clusterfuck dumped in Windows directory where it belongs is a lot better than dumping all that shit in /.

I was so disappointed to learn that the real reason Linux has so many bin directories is just "lol we ran out of room on the original mount point" and everyone since has slavishly stuck to it out of tradition.

it really is

I respect your opinion dude.

thank you my man.

That was the reasoning for Unix, Linux kept it for compatibility with Unix systems.

Freedesktop.org is trying to merge the /usr subdirectories with their root equivalents though
freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/TheCaseForTheUsrMerge/

No? If it wasn't for UNIX your precious Windows just wouldn't be the same. DOS was based on UNIX.

>merge the /usr subdirectories with their root equivalents though
Got that backwards. The root directories are being merged with their /usr equivalents through symbolic links

Just fuck my shit up senpai.

...

because computers back then were shit and ganoo/loonix and bsd didnt exist

t-thanks

please, OP, UNIX was at least several mistakes.

We need to go deeper.

Look at all of the malware available for Windows 10 already. UNIX was not a mistake.

That's some next-level bait right there.
MS-DOS is a clone of CP/M, which was released while UNIX was still an irrelevant research operating system.

>Temperory files
Disqualified

Users are partialy TEMP (%username%\appdata\local\temp\). Also programm specific libs going to ProgramFiles.
Both unix and windows system/programs files organisaton are messed up.

This is just wrong. At least the UNIX / has an underlying system and once you know where to look for something you will be able to navigate through all of your system. Windows is a fucking mess. System32 is like a recycle bin for drivers, network, system services, hosts, applications and everything else. It's literally just thrown together. Don't get me started on registry and all the obsolete kernel / userspace crap in windows. Each windows version adds just another abstraction layers for 20 years of mess.

No. Thanks to Unix we have Linux. Unfortunately we also got osx.

fuck off currynigger

What did he mean by this, Sup Forums?

I knew linux was for pedophiles. You're not even subtle about it.

I see you only understand technology as end user devices.

I too was once teenager

Yes.
Hopefully Plan9 replaces it some day.

>DOS was based on UNIX
You're retarded, fuck off.

VMS for life

Oh, I bet you wish Windows was that simple

/thread

YES! It's been the worst mistake to date!

Maybe you should open that folder named Program Files, you fucking moron.

entire directX install per program

totally useful m8

This doesn't even include the clusterfuck that lives under Windows and Users
Unix is bad but Windows is something else

Unix was a program gone bad. Born into poverty, its parents, the
phone company, couldn't afford more than a roll of teletype paper a
year, so Unix never had decent documentation and its source files
had to go without any comments whatsoever. Year after year, Papa Bell
would humiliate itself asking for rate increases so that it could feed
its child. Still, unix had to go to school with only two and three
letter command names because the phone company just couldn't afford
any better. At school, the other operating systems with real command
names, and even command completion, would taunt poor little Unix for
not having any job or terminal management facilities or for having to
use its file system for interprocess communication and locking.
Then, bitter and emasculated by its poverty, the phone company
began to drink. During lost weekends of drunken excess, it would
brutally beat poor little Unix about the face and neck. Eventually,
Unix ran away from home. Soon it was living on the streets of
Berkeley. There, Unix got involved with a bad crowd. Its life became
a degrading journey of drugs and debauchery. To keep itself alive, it
sold cheap source licenses for itself to universities which used it
for medical experiments. Being wantonly hacked by an endless stream
of nameless, faceless undergraduates, both men and women, often by
more than one at the same time, Unix fell into a hell-hole of
depravity.
And so it was that poor little Unix began to go insane. It
retreated steadily into a dreamworld, the only place where it felt
safe. It took heroin and dreamed of being a real operating system.

It took LSD and dreamed of being a raspberry flavored three-toed yak.

I used to think I was retarded because I couldn't find my user account folder under "usr". I only later realized it was GNU/Linux that was retarded.
