The unicode emojis are what google and apple use, which were created by unicode in an effort to create a universal character set. They were created in response to the ones you posted, but different japanese proto-emoji sets had different images. The unicode emoji set was created to unify them and codify a standard for emoji worldwide.

iOS = effort put into design
Android = zero effort, make it all flat and call it a day, the fewer artistic principles you can fuck up the better
