I really like JavaFX.
me to user. java gets a lot of hate but with fx it is so fucking easy to build a cross-platform UI with pretty animations and shit that business people fucking love.
c#/wpf is nice on windows too

It was written so one could separate out the GUI from everything else properly. I haven't seen anything that matches. Ruby, MVC are just cheap web clones.
