that's just not fair, I earn $576 a month and yet I still have to pay more for technology than some rich spoiled American brats
The economic policy of protectionism rarely works and is at fault for the high price of foreign goods in your country. Tax funded subsidies is far more effective for consumers.
My country too struggles with this in some cases, we pay $2.15 per litre of milk. Imported cheeses are so expensive that most people settle for locally produced stuff which has a flavour only slightly stronger than cream. I really miss the cheddar that was so cheap when I lived in Ireland.
>be argentinian
>aftermarket MSI GTX 1080 costs $1330
>EVGA FE costs $1580
fugg south america
>live in New Zealand
>GTX 1080 FE costs $1500
You really miss Irish cheddar? Fuck what country are you
Where do you live?
Why did you leave Ireland?
I'm thinking about leaving Poland after I finish uni. Fuck this fucking shithole, fuck this national socialist government pandering lowlife scum and not giving a fuck about educated people, fuck these high prices, fuck this gay shit fucking stupid uncivilized nation.
Gib visa USA.
Foda-se, e eu pensava que estourar 800€ numa 1080 era mau
Imagine visa free travel from Poland to the US. Probably 1/3rd of your country would just leave and never come back.
What I stunt understand is this: Poland doesn't produce graphic cards. Why tax imported ones? Who are you protecting at that point?
VOTE LEAVE
>lives in Ireland
>leave Ireland
Dude... why?
I think the idea is to encourage AMD or Nvidia to open up a factory in Poland or something?
>Why tax imported ones? Who are you protecting at that point?
Gubmint needs your $$$ies.
I live in Norway, a social and geological paradise. Clothes and electronics are cheap but we produce milk so fuck it, let's tax dairy imports out existence!
>Why did you leave Ireland?
There was what the Irish called the credit crunch in 2008 while my native Norway thought that was a breakfast cereal, having noticed no ill effects. The low price of oil may mean that it's time to return to Ireland with new experience and help establish a new market for my line of work. There are good places to go within the EU, you don't need to go to the US.
Well, I can't speak for Poland specifically but most of the EU taxes imported goods like that because VAT is used to fund various things. I have a good number of Polish friends who say that the corruption undermines their faith in taxes though.
Same shit with Croatia. VAT is a bitch.
>Be Finnish
>GTX 1080 is 800€
Haha didn't evan want that shit. AMD MASTERRACE
Norway isn't the EU is it?
Nice, Ireland is recovering greatly particularly from a small medium enterprise sense. Now is a good time to come back. You can easily avail of money to start a business
Ainda bem que sou tuga.
Damm all the BR's to hell.

I want to kill myself
Because there are countries with higher standards of living, believe it or not. You're from Thailand, aren't you? Sorry if I've gotten that wrong, especially after having exchanged posts with you for near four years now but I have the memory of a goldfish. I know the difference doesn't look that great from the outside but from the inside there are huge differences that will erode your faith in humanity, day by day. The Irish attitude "Ah fuck it, it'll be grand sure!" kills me.
No but we're schengen so EU members can travel to and from freely.
I know, my parents still live there. I'm really impressed with enda.
At least you have lots of hot girls and no Muslims (from what I hear)
Hey but I heard you guys are doing better and better every year. Croatia on the other side is getting more fucked with every passing day, it's actually pretty hilarious to watch us crash and burn. Ahhhhhh kurwa jebeny.
I thought it would have been the overbearing dominance of catholicism in every aspect of Irish life.
You're in brazil.
Just get a bike and a friend, and go murder some poor bastard for his graphics card.
Sure it happens all the time there.
this
they need $$$ to give 500 PLN ($127 in a country where average net income is $761) for every child born
the only effect of this policy is that now our police has five times more family violence interventions
fucking slavscum
Perhaps. When you are in the third world, your idea of a good place to go to is a first world country, sans the crime and violence. Maybe you are used to that, so you want even more.
How do you get by with average wages being that low?
I was in poland 2 years ago and it was not much cheaper than germany
>implying Poles aren't as bad as muslims
well, that was when we had neoliberal govt
they were corrupt but didn't get in a way too much
now we have a govt that is both corrupt and fanatical and things are getting worse
national socialism - not even once

Are you the guys with the "this building has been funded by the EU" buildings?
we are poor
that's it
I make $576 and I'll soon get a raise to $633 so it's not so bad, I have a friend who is a fucking electrical engineer and makes $456 because the only job for electrical engineer is at Volvo factory, my gf's a lawyer (well, she's a beginner) and makes $710
I spend 114 on bills, I don't pay rent because my gf owns our apartment, I pay 127 a month for cheap food, once in a while I go to a restaurant and have a $6 meal
I rarely ever drink - usually when I'm visiting parents because my family has a long tradition of making their own alcohol (not in a scum way - my dad's brandy and my uncle's meads are top tier)
top tier programmers in my city make something about $2000 and it's one of the main cities of Poland
yup
and now there are many people thinking that we should leave EU
how can anybody be so delusional, fucking morons
You guys are third world. Those salaries are considered normal here in SEA.
In fact, you can earn a lot more if you go to Singapore.
EU paid for everything. Without them OP would earn ~200 and the gtx would cost 1500

yeah, btw I work in IT Service Desk and I'm a college dropout and I make better money than most of my friends who are engineers
I sometimes feel bad about it, it shouldn't work this way
Yeah. I forgot to mention that I turn 22 in 5 months.
>$400 full time as an emgineer
You literally make that here working a few hours a week at a supermarket
Really hope that you guys went past that phase.
Man, from where in EE are you?
If it's Poland, how the fuck did you manage to not finish gimnazjum? They're literally forcing you through it. What were you doing this whole time, living in a forest hiding from child services?
My pc costs 6 times more than your monthly income lulz.
That's a part of it too but the attitudes are more problematic. It's pervasive and destructive. Look at your roads and say "It'll be grand!" Look at your social welfare system and say "It'll be grand!" Look at your Internet infrastructure and say "It'll be grand!" Look at your water, which the EU has deemed unfit for human consumption in places and the government want to meter and say "It'll be grand!" No you shower of langers, it won't be grand. It's far from grand.
I wanted to say something like that but I didn't want to sound like a condescending Imperial talking down to a colonial. Did I get the country you live in right? Sorry if I didn't, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you, you're awesome.
Congrats, you want a pat on the head for that?
Nope, nationalism is on the rise, I have "Fuck EU" graffiti and "Polexit" posters everywhere around my place. These fucking fags think that not letting 2,000 muslims into a 36,000,000 country is worth losing all that money
"b-but you can't buy our dignity", yeah right, let's see how dignified you are when you're starving
Bulgaria. And yes, I had a few encounters with child services, and that was before I even stopped going to school, it was just my crazy mother trying to play the "my son has been kidnapped by his own father and is now miserable" game.
What happened was my father (whom I lived with at the time, divorced parents and crazy mom and all) broke up with his girlfriend of 10 years. The woman in question owned the apartment we were living in so we had to go.
And yeah, the only place we could go to is literally in the mountains. Small town of about 2000 people. Could've been worse in that regard, I guess.

Do not worry about it. I am a man, not a tumblrista.
I bought Apple earbuds for $12 at a gas station in NZ
>I am a man, not a tumblrista.
Very true but there's still a lingering attitude of "Those inferior countries over there" hanging around in the minds of some people, I don't want to contribute to it and I certainly don't want to be associated with it.
that's cheaper than in the US, you have no right to complain
Yuro is 1.1 USD.
Really?
If so based /seajews/ are at it again
>there's still a lingering attitude of "Those inferior countries over there" hanging around in the minds of some people, I don't want to contribute to it and I certainly don't want to be associated with it
I appreciate it. I really do, no irony. I'm sick of being patronized on Sup Forums. Not that I demand people being nice to me, it's Sup Forums for fucks sake, but it's nice to see not every first world user is a smug bastard.
>I'm sick of being patronized on Sup Forums
I can empathise. I work in an industry usually populated by women and I'm tired of hearing people say "Oh, a male such and such worker? Oh well" as if they'll be getting worse service because of it. It's annoying as shit but certainly not as harmful as tumblr makes it out to be. It was fun to subvert their expectations in the beginning but that was four years ago. Now it's just unoriginal, condescending and irritating.
I'm sure you're able to use all that processing power
you're a nurse, right?
>be turkish

That actually happens more than you can imagine, but with smartphones, not VGAs.
No, I'm creative leader in a home staging company.
Nice. I'd like your job to be honest. In Service Desk I can shitpost at work like right now but if I won't start doing something more stimulating in a few years I'll end myself.
Steal a new gpu
same
Goddamn dude. I love polish people. You're welcome to work in the UK as a builder anytime.
>$576 monthly income
What's your rent? $200? kek I pay $700 for a single tiny apartment and thats the cheapest available option. Median average cost is around $1000+ at the very least.
You get tired of real estate agents breathing down your neck after a while. Everyone has an opinion on how things should look and despite that people think all looks are subjective, there are things that objectively look horrendous. Trying to tell a customer that is always painful. Funny you should mention service desk, we use it to manage our bookings. It's shoehorned in and most people hate it but that seems to be mandatory for any computer system.

All for """"""""""protecting"""""""""" the local manufacturing from the superior imported goods, hence the insanely heavy taxation. Except nothing is manufactured here so we don't have a choice, we have to buy the overtaxed imported goods
I can't, I had a horse accident and I'm a cripple.
I know, funny cause le polish horses vs tanks muh hussars meme.
I'm a descendant of actual hussars though, I think they would've been very disappointed with me if they weren't dead for like 500 years.
Sorry to hear, mate. May life deal you better cards soon.
The x80 always had some retarded pricing. I'm more concerned about the 1070 costing R$2700.
thanks
right now I'd torn between signing up for a weekend CS course at uni (I can't afford studying full-time, my parents are poor and student loans so low that even combined with part-time jobs mean living in an absolute poverty) or packing my things and telling gf to rent out our apartment and moving to another country with her.
The problem is, her law degree is worthless in any other country.
>>be pajeet

What's 1200 hues in real money?
About 400 dollars. But I believe that price is already in dollars.
I work in a factory entirely populated with polish guys, they're all in CNC related jobs and make like 25$/hr
Move to the us, slave away in a factory, lodsa cash
As a fellow Bulgarian I can say that he could only steal a top tier GPU from the spoiled brats of people you do NOT wanna steal from.
I can ALSO say that if you don't have the bad luck of going through some family drama or being a gypsy, you can actually live a great life here with an IT education.
Your average monthly expenses would be at about 300-400$, a starting salary in programming or even tech support would be around 1,100-1,500$ and will raise steadily, lots of foreign companies are outsourcing their shit here since we work better than Pajeets at pretty much the same prices and we're in the EU.

Being poor in Brazil is so damn depressing, my father shot my mom when I was 3, ive been living with my great aunt ever since, she always says mom deserved for being a whore and that If I didn't study I'd end up like her.
Thinking about it now my father must be getting out of jail next year
I honestly don't understand how economy works.
Why not just have a friend or family member in the US buy it for you at a proper price then ship it to you and pay a smaller shipping fee?

The maximum sentence for murder in Brazil is 5 years (everybody murders everybody so jails are crowded) and no government provided bundas for 5 more years
Ask Guero Palma to buy you one boludo
So that fellow is about 8 years old?
Must be pretty horrible to live in a country where they speak some form of Spanish or Portuguese. All the constant murdering everywhere. And Coca Cola leaving the places.
I'm surprised there are still people alive.
