How is this different from IRC?
How is this different from IRC?
It literally uses IRC.
its accessible for normies and neckbeards /thread
It spies on you more.

source?
I don't understand how it's worth so much money tho
It literally doesn't
For some reason a lot of businesses like it. The irony is that it's worse than discord in every respect, but discord is full of gamer memery.
Enjoy your botnet, retard.
Don't blame me, the company that employs me uses it on the grounds that emails are too hard to keep track of.
/giffy penis
It originally was based on IRC, but their backend has been so heavily modified over the years that it can no longer be considered such.
it's a frontend to irc that you have to pay for
So Kim Kardashian's ass is no longer considered an ass?
I use the IRC on a daily basis and I am not sure what OP's pic is referring to.
>no idea what it is
>look at the filename

...
slack
It's very similar, but easier to configure and install (you don't need to download anything), and the experience is more consistent (only one client). Everything you could do in slack you can do in IRC, but many features depend on the client.
Making it easy counts for a lot, people are lazy.
See . Plus, there's a free tier.
Used google's image search, it's the logo for a company called slack.
>How is this different from IRC?
shitty appĀ“ification with some twitter hashtags mixed in and a giant amount of money pushing it into the asses of corp.
just wait until they integrate with linkedIn for total botnet exp.
if you company asks you to use slack start running next you know you will be invited to gay gang bangs
>gay gang bangs
wait, you serious?
>be invited to gay gang bangs
And this is bad how?
>How is this different from IRC?
ItĀ“s another walled garden of a private company where Sign In with email or facebook because normies dont understand how use /join, /nick or set Password Protected channels in irc servers.
>tfw jim long from accounting got slack and wants to make a lemon party with you
...
I don't know but my research lab uses this to keep in touch
you can refuse to use it you pussy
Kim Kardashians ass isn't based on an ass it is an ass
It makes someone somewhere money.
I do in a way, I just send emails, and inform people that I forget to check slack.
kek i was joking m8
you only do yourself a disservice by 'forgetting to check slack', and it's not you who's paying for it anyway
It really isn't and that's the point. It's IRC designed for teams of people that include those who aren't necessarily tech savvy. It also has business related plugins. Basically the reason it's successful is because it took something useful, and brought it to the enterprise.
If you're using it in the context of a company it doesn't matter since the IT team has access to all your emails anyway for legal reasons.
I save myself time - if anyone finds slack harder to keep track of than emails they don't have folders and filters.
Don't forget that slack starts deleting old messages (arbitrarily) based on data usage.
