its a pentium 4, and its 112 degrees outside
if i turned it on the room might burst into flames

It's fine, I have air conditioning in the room with my computer

>pushing cold air downwards
This is retarded. Pic related for good cooling.

I am not poor so I can afford air conditioning

better to push cold air down than to have negative pressure.

I dont live in the fucking stone age so my house is air conditioned

Enjoy being poor faggot

My Apple MacBook is doing just fine, thanks.

You wont have negative pressures even if you try with a decent case unless your case is sitting on a rug or something

I can't believe that it's 2016 and people still use ATX cases and their terribly redundant thermal design. How the fuck has nothing changed in ten years, Jesus Christ.

u wot

I only have fans to cool off my radiator in the front, no other fans

>negative presure
>pc case
even fucking vaccum cleaners create at most -5% of atmosferic pressure you dipshit

I have AC. Don't know what you're talking about.

It's a tiny fucking pc case.
Why the fuck are you retards acting like you're designing a damn rocket ?

decently

nothing over 35 except when the cpu went to 61 under load for a while

100 Apple Points™ have been deposited into your iTunes® Account

just having 1 more fan blowing air in than out makes a HUGE difference for dust

it says the fans were reversed to account for the H70 cooler u nigg

I'm skeptical about the degree of impact that buoyancy from the thermal differences has on cooling.

Anyone have any test data on this?

Intuitively, it makes sense that you wouldn't want to fight buoyancy even if it is small. But I can imagine instances in which you may not have a choice, or it may be more effective.

How are those FB-DIMMs treating you ?

i see what you meant now, but it has nothing toi do with negative pressure,
just air comeing in trough random holes instead of going trough filters

smarter engineers than you figured this shit out when they made the ATX standard

>2016
>there are still people that don't have central heating and air
how's that third world country doing for you?

>central air
>referring to AC by its hill billy name
>calls others third worlders

...

>Having case fans
>Ever

>ATI

My house has a magical technology called "Air conditioning"

>I'm skeptical about the degree of impact that buoyancy from the thermal differences has on cooling.
>Anyone have any test data on this?
>Intuitively, it makes sense that you wouldn't want to fight buoyancy even if it is small. But I can imagine instances in which you may not have a choice, or it may be more effective.
It's something I and many others have thought about too. People on this and many other boards get caught up in minutia of cooling and ignore large factors.

It's like the fatty trying to lose weight and worrying about eating organic kale and placebo fat burning supplements when he/she is still inhaling 3500 kcal/day.

If I have one fan in the front and one in the back where should I put a 3rd fan? Front is in and back is out of course. Another would fit on the front, top, or side. Also in or out?

send help

Del optiplex?

Air conditioning and central air generally refer to two different things
AC is a generalization, central air is a specific type of AC built into building

Are those idle temps?

Those shitty red leds and cable management is whats doin' you in OP.

gg

what about side panel fans? intake or outake?

Do those tri SLI 285 have more graphical processing capability than my 960?

Probably overwhelmed by electrically powered fan by a factor of hundreds. I can imagine the little air in a case is enough to generate more than 0.01 watt in buoyancy, while a fan will output about 1-4W in kinetic energy. Literally overwhelmed by electrically powered fans.

The only reason why you would choose top exhaust over top intake is because heavy dust falls under gravity into the case, so top intake may collect more dust. It has nothing to do with "air hot rises" convection meme.

Are your GPUs even using blowers? It doesn't look like it.

If anything the heat would be rising straight up to the radiator and then getting stuck around the MOBO waiting to get pulled through the radiator.

*I can't imagine
Fuck me

Front in

Hot air naturally rises. I have a gateway mini tower with only one fan, the CPU fan, and the PSU is at the bottom of the case with a fan blowing outward. The top of the case still gets pretty hot.

not even close

>How is your PC handling the intense heat today Sup Forums?
Same as everything else in the house - central air, AC on mid-day, fan mode and windows open after 7:30.

Intake

is that left blue arrow placed wrong?

My MacBook GPU gets to 85C and my CPU gets to 95 when playing games. I can turn the AC up a lot to counter it, but then I'm cold.

Literally said nothing of value regarding my post.

Gets goddamn boiling in my room if I play games for more than an hour.

Jesus Christ that ram latency on ddr4 how is this any kind of improvement?? All that processor speed and it's banging on the ram waiting on it

10/10 renaissance work
truly a masterpiece for the ages

My GPU gets loud while gaming, but that's because I have an overly aggressive fan curve. Can't hear it over my headphones.

CPU is always chilly.

>doesn't have air conditioning

ddr4 latency is so high because of it's clock speed:voltage ratio. DDR3 2400mhz is usually CL11 while DDR4 2400mhz is CL14-CL15. But DDR3 uses 1.65v to 1.8v to maintain that clock and timing. DDR4 uses 1.2v. You can tighten up the timings on DDR4, but you'd have to up the voltage. Even top sheld DDR4 3400mhz kits are only using 1.35v to 1.4v. Tests have been done to show how bad/good speed over timings are and the difference for general use and gaming is negligible. 90% of things benefit more from higher ram clock than tighter timings. The only people who truly benefit from tight RAM is professional editors where time is literally money so saving a few seconds here and there throughout the day adds up and is worth running slower ram.

Lastly DDR4 offers higher module density. A single stick can be up to 128GB while 16GB sticks of DDR3 are very rare and expensive. DDR4 wasn't all about more speed. It was more about being able to squeeze a lot more RAM into a server/PC than before using the same amount of slots while also using less juice.

Power consumption for us consumers may be nothing from 1.65v DDR3 to 1.2v DDR4 but imagine a server farm somewhere with 5 million sticks of DDR4 in play all at once. 24/7/365.

Snazzy build what did it cost?

Do you have the High Performance or Quiet versions of those fans?
Either way, was it worth the money?

Uh, no. I have a Mac Pro.

I have an Alienware 13 and it's running silently as usual.

I don't care your opinion on it, I got it for $500 so it was well worth it for my needs.

>Not having a vacuum cleaner hose permanently installed in your case to suck out dust

Fans on a case are a meme when the entire case is a heatsink.

Not even a problem famalam.

This is Sup Forums, everything is a meme.

in theory yes, but it's limited to 1GB so games that use more than that are slower on that setup

Thanks, user. The rig itself is about 1100-1200 depending on where you buy your parts.

Are you talking about the fans that came with the Kraken? Or the fans that came with the case? I'm not aware of different versions for either product. Just using the stock white ones. They are decent enough. They push plenty of air, but are quiet loud if you ever crank them all the way up (never).

The case is fucking dope, and I would suggest it to anyone. Plenty of color options for anyone's build. PSU shroud great. Built in filters so my parts are very, very clean.

There is pretty much nothing wrong with this case, other than the looks for some people. 10/10 would recommend.

Nuh uh. The only thing on Sup Forums that isn't a meme is your moooooom haha!!

It literally just occurred to me that you must be talking about the Corsair fan in the back.

I have no clue, I literally only bought it for the A E S T H E T I C S

Something like this

Enjoy your vacuum cleaner loool

Such is shed life in southern california, but at least i have a hardware fan controller for my 2 front fans, which are these

>tfw comfy weather

it's for the back fans obviously

Aren't your winters hot though? I remember hearing something about your santa wearing shorts

The PC is not on the floor or a desk and the filters are really good.

>Aren't your winters hot though? I remember hearing something about your santa wearing shorts

Thanks mate, you just made my day. That has to be the funniest and stupidest thing I have ever read.

>Celsius

36C here in SoCal

What? Seems legit

>Imperial measurements

Fucking dorms and off-campus apartments.

as a fellow melbournian i also find this fucking hilarious.
it's amazing how americans as a whole can be so ignorant
>hur dur what's this Celsius deal?
>omg it's winter? but it's summer here!

This is what google tells me about you

"The seasons in the temperate zone are described in terms of European seasons applied to the southern hemisphere in the following sequence:

Summer: December to February.
Autumn: March to May.
Winter: June to August.
Spring: September to November."

no one cares about your weather

instead of putting fans on your computer case why not put them on your computer room?

Dual Nocona xeons, 4 case fans, and 2 ps fans.

Sounds like I'm ready for liftoff.

What the hell is wrong with you?

...

Made a good movie playing machine. Had the parts laying around the office. Not gonna buy an i7 and 1070 to play movies.

American here, do you really call your hot months winter? Like right now it's the start of summer but it's starting to get cold in Australia right? So your summer is cold?

Because im not hot when i run.

best ventilated medium case coming through

Just make the inside of your case into a vacuum and you won't have to worry about heat or fans.

I have an ac coooler on my tower. Lol.

No, it's called winter. Are you retarded?

Since when PSUs exhale cold air?

To see all those tuning computers hurt with my 4 years old gtx 560 build with 0fans

The fuck, you can't even get your seasons right lol.
It's summer here.

>intake from the bottom
Why? This seems counter-intuitive to me.

...
