It's the opposite. Can't do scientific tasks on anything that doesn't support cuda, but AMD outdoes nvidia every generation in games performance in every pricerange except sometimes the top one (fury x v.s. 980ti for example).
It's ment for poorfags like me who want to entry tower gayming for less than 800bucks so don't bother and buy the 1080 and shove it up your butt.
